Highly recommend this tour! Zane was our guide/ knowledgeable, generous, entertaining and a great driver. Small group, clean and comfy Mercedes van, snacks, lunch, great weather. Learned and saw so much—thank you Zane and Hawaii Geo Tours!

Loved this whole experience! Zane was extremely knowledgeable about volcanoes, plant life, the island’s history, and he was also funny and engaging. He did a nice job of connecting with all nine of us on the tour, and was attentive to our needs e.g., bathroom breaks, water, hunger, etc.). The Mercedes van was extremely comfortable for all eleven hours of the tour.

Eric made it fun. Good to have choices but it would have been good to have had them laid out at the beginning ..a list of popular spots within our stops. I think the banyan ave in Hilo would have been worth a 20 min stop to walk around them Thank you Eric

Zane was our tour guide and was great! The day started a little rough with a couple being late (not their fault) and one of the vans broke down. But Zane handled it like a pro and went on our way after about a hour delay. We saw the Tree of Life, a beautiful waterfall, and the volcano during the day and at night. We had a great lunch and dinner at the Lava Cafe after visiting the gift shop! The night view was incredible!! Zane’s expertise in geology really paid off. His knowledge of the area made the drive easy and quick. This is a must see when in the Kona area!!!

My partner was nauseous from food the nice before. Out of consideration for the group we requested a cancellation. We likely would’ve had to get the van to pull over to vomit several times. Still we were not refunded any of the original amount we paid. They were late in picking us up and did not answer any phones.

Quite possibly the best thing I've done in many, many trips to Hawaii. Extremely knowledgeable and personable guides show you the birth of the islands first hand.

We’ve been to every place on this tour over the past few years and we expected that we would enjoy this tour. It surpassed our expectations. Having a geologist as your guide and host was fantastic. We learned so much, enjoyed not having to drive and having our entire day totally planned. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy! Lunch and dinner were delightful as were the other guests on the trip. Highly recommend and if offered again we sign up immediately.

A truly amazing learning experience. Having the expertise of having a geologist as our tour guide was enhanced by his knowledge and passion about island life and eagerness to share its history and current activities to enjoy while visiting. The stops to see first hand the power of nature that continues to dramatically change the landscape were well organized and they were prepared with snacks and wet weather gear. Educational. Fun. Worth every penny.

This geological tour of Hawaii was an absolute eye-opener! Zane expertly navigated us through diverse climates and from volcanic craters to beautiful, wave-crashing beaches. The explanations of the island's formation and ongoing geological processes were fascinating and easy to understand. The lava flows, volcanic vents, and geothermal activity were truly awe-inspiring. His passion for geology was contagious, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour. It's a fantastic way to appreciate the island's unique geological history and its ongoing evolution!

Being back on the Big Island single was an experience in itself, but hanging out with Zane and Erik for a full day was awesome. Zane was very professional before the tour even began. Making sure we had the right gear, the right meal plan and the right attitude (LOL) for the day. His knowledge of all things was frankly amazing and scary. From rocks and locations to weather and people. The van ride was very comfortable and the location for lunch and dinner was excellent. If you are going to take this tour, please dress accordingly and wear the right shoes. In the nicest way possible Zane was trying to keep people safe when walking in several beautiful areas where you needed to pay attention. What was the negative you ask? He was too polite to put the person hogging all of the conversation in the back! 😂 I would definitely recommend their tour to anyone. Although it was all couples, Zane and Erik didn’t make me feel bad for being the only single throwing off the number. I want to come back during a different season and see how the tour looks then.

What an amazing tour of Rainbow Falls and Volcano National Park! Led by a geogologist with the knowledge about history of the area. He was fun, entertaining, and I would absolutely recommend this as one of the best tours I've experienced.

The experience was absolutely wonderful. Zane as a guide was the best. As a geologist, Zane is able to bring the Island of Hawaii to life. And we were able to experience views and areas that no other tour company will do. I highly recommend Hawai’i Geo tours!!! Zane is the best. I will chose no other company the next time I visit Hawaii…

Had a very enjoyable day out. Visited many interesting places tasted a variety of coffees accompanied by chocolates saw sea turtles on Black Beach enjoyed a lovely lunch and first sightings of Hawaiin volcanos and lava flows. Comfortable riding vehicle and knowledgeable and entertaining dialogue from tour leader.
