San Juan Island Whale and Wildlife Tours
US$ 99.00
Overview
Join Captain Hobbes and experience a whale and wildlife adventure of a lifetime in the San Juan Islands, Washington.  See our local "Southern Resident" salmon-eating orca (killer) whales in their natural environment, known as J, K & L pods, and "Transient" mammal-eating orca whales.  You'll also likely see seals, sea lions, porpoise, eagles, seabirds, and maybe even humpback and minke whales. Enjoy this experience from a 7-passenger boat, with seating inside and out, a heated cabin, and restroom.
What to Expect
Captain Hobbes will take you on a lovely and exciting cruise of the San Juan Islands and will do his best to show you the most magnificent animal in the world, the Orca!  Check in at the boat "Tokitae" no later than 11:40 a.m. for a 12:00 noon departure. Tokitae is located at Spring Street Landing, next to the ferry terminal, and in front of Downriggers restaurant. Take the ramp to the left of the landing and look for the aluminum boat with the navy blue stripe. (Spring Street Landing is distinguished by a green roof and large clock.)

At 11:40 a.m. Captain Hobbes will give you a safety talk and orientation to your 2.5 to 3 hour whale and wildlife tour. You'll enjoy amazing views of sparkling blue waters and emerald green islands as you search for orca whales, humpback and minke whales, sea lions, seals, bald eagles, sea birds and other marine wildlife.  During the trip Captain Hobbes will educate you about these whales and wildlife, the health of our oceans, and what you can help do to save the whales.

Our guide and Captain Hobbes was extremely friendly and personable. His knowledge of the marine life and the characteristics of the Salish Sea geology was very impressive. It was apparent that Hobbes is passionate about orcas and their protection. We saw no whales or dolphins,...More

Captain Hobbes is great, and cares both about his passengers, and the wildlife that you're there to see. His boat is comfortable, and with our group of 6, we had the boat (and Hobbes!) to ourselves, which was a treat. The boat itself has a...More

Small boat exoerirnce

If you are looking for a small boat experience this is your guy. But be advised that there are many laws boats have to follow. You don’t get to see the whales up close, but no boat is allowed to do that. The pictures you...More
