Overview

Get into the spirit on this Williamsburg ghost tour led by a guide who looks and plays the part of a colonial townsperson. Wander through haunted areas and burial grounds as you hear tales of ghosts, skeletons, and apparitions. Spooky stops include the houses of George Wythe and Peyton Randolph, as well as the Governor’s Palace. Choose from two evening departure times to fit your schedule.

What to Expect

This guided ghost tour through colonial Williamsburg meets 10 minutes before your scheduled departure at Merchants Square in front of the Cheese Shop.

Follow your guide, who’s dressed as a colonial townsperson, along the streets of Williamsburg by candlelight. Hear ghost stories about the haunted houses, burial grounds, and other spooky sites that bring the past to present.

Learn of secret cemetery vaults, visit the house of George Wythe with its secret tunnel and hear of his connection to Thomas Jefferson. Perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of a ghost outside Peyton Randolph House, said to be one of Virginia’s most haunted residences.

A final stop at the pillory allows you to experience the stocks for yourself.

Your tour ends back in colonial Williamsburg at the starting point.

Very fun, pretty informative with interesting stories!

It all starts with meeting the tour guide - and finding your way to the meeting spot can be quite interesting! They walk you through many roads, telling stories of the homes, cemeteries and past incidents - how some died and perhaps that's why the...More

Our guide was excellent in her knowledge and interesting side stories. The characters at each stop provide life stories of various citizens from the past. Although not exactly ghost stories, they were interesting. I would definitely do this again when a new set of stories...More

Thank you for your nice response. I'm so glad you had a good time. I'm wondering about the stories that may be disturbing to children. Perhaps we all have different ideas of what may be "child friendly," but we have never had any complaints about...More
