Best of the Bay Supercruise: Original Cream Trip
From US$ 97.12
Experience the Bay of Islands on a catamaran cruise from Paihia or Russell, with indoor and outdoor seating to ensure a comfortable trip in any weather. Watch for whales, seals, and dolphins as you navigate the islands. Following the centuries-old tradition of delivering supplies to remote islands (called a “cream trip”), you pass Hole in the Rock, stop to explore one of the islands, and optionally swim with dolphins.
What to Expect
Make your way to the wharf in Paihia or Russell, board your multilevel catamaran, and then set a course for Cape Brett, on the far eastern edge of the Bay of Islands. Enjoy the sea breeze from the outdoor sundeck or head inside to the enclosed cabins, where drinks and snacks are available for purchase. Form any seat, watch for seals, dolphins, and whales as you cruise.

Upon arrival at Cape Brett, you have an exciting opportunity to swim in dolphin habitat, if conditions permit, using a wetsuit and snorkeling gear to see beneath the surface (own expense).

Back on board the boat, you make a series of stops to deliver supplies to the islands, pausing at one for free time to walk, swim, or just relax on the beach.

After a full day on the water, your Bay of Islands cruise concludes at your original departure point.

Kids and wife sick the whole time - great staff

Despite my family being sick due to the swell the crew were so nice, understanding and helpful. Be mindful for those that go, if you’re at all prone to seasickness, only go in the calm. It can get rough. Well worth it if you have...More

Great Trip

What a beautiful day out on the water. The Majesty of the islands and then the Hole in the Rock. But to see all of the fish in the current through the Hole was amazing.

My family an I had a great time on this cruise around the Bay of Islands. Though we were unable to find a pod of Dolphins to swim with, the staff compensated by giving detailed commentary about their lives and the overall trip. The weather...More

It is only choppy if it is a windy day. You will have to play it by ear.
