About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Passport362604702710 contributionsBeautiful views and amazing supportWe went three girls on this hike, with beautiful views and nature and an opportunity to get to interact with a lot of the local people. We had an absolutely fantastic team! We enjoyed the full trip and were very well taken care of! Thank you! Also we had a lot of amazing food!Written 6 October 2024
- 748zuzanah0 contributionsGANGOTRI GAUMUKH TAPOVAN TREKThanks again for the great experience. The trek was a bit challenging but with experienced and nice guides it was a unforgettable. The views were amazing. I highly recommend this agency for trekking, they work with small group and individual approach.Written 2 October 2024

- GiuliaS17010 contributionsBreathtaking and transformativeI really wanted to see the Himalayas while on this trip, and I was concerned cos I was by myself. However “Mapping the Himalayas” made everything easy and safe for me. I did the Chopta 4 days-3 nights hike. My guide Ankush took really great care of me from the start, the views were breathtaking, and the experience full on with local mountain people - nothing touristy or mainstream. Of course there were some challenges, lots of rain (for me monsoon season was the only possible date) and I had to get out of my comfort zone a little, but it was totally worth it! Would 100% recommend!Written 26 August 2024
- Rohit3040 contributionsRudranath TrekWe did a 5D/4N Rudranath Trek with the help of MTH (Mapping the Himalayas). We met our trek leader Kalyan Negi aka "Kally Baba" and helper cum cook Vikram Rana aka "Vikka" in Rishikesh, which was our pickup and drop-off point. From our pickup till drop-off they managed all the things very efficiently, our vehicle was good, the food and refreshments given to us was very good, the places we stayed was good. Kally and Vikka know what they are doing, which made our trip so easy for us that we were not worried about a single thing. In addition, Kally has a lot of stories to tell which will keep you guys engaged while you are tried and resting. Vikka is a very nice and shy person he doesn't talk much but he is also fun to work with. I highly recommend using MTH for your any trek and trips anywhere in Uttarakhand, they have a efficient team and equipments to make your journey fun. One thing that people need to understand that you are going in the remote mountains where the facilities and food cannot be upto your expectations and mother nature can be ruthless but these guys will do everything to get the best for you. So don't worry about the comfort and enjoy your trip.Written 12 June 2024
- V6192BKmarie_0 contributionsGreat trek and the best team! Recommend to everyone! :)I did the Chopta trek with Naranzi, he was great guide and I loved the experience! The first 2 days of trekking is the best and not crowded at all! The views were stunning. We had lots of fun and Naranzi always smiles and supports you throughout the trek with great mood and and also food, haha! Take comfi boots (I didn't :D) and you will have a great time! Food was great all way long and the team of Mapping the Himalayas are all amazing people! Thank you all again! Also memorable drive from Rishikesh and back accompanied with great music! Would recommend to everyone! also thanks for sorting all the transport for me, much appreciate it!Written 20 May 2024
- Anned33990 contributionsJust amazing!!We did a 6 days tour from Rishikesh. We drove to Gangotri and walked from there to a mountain place called Tapovan. The trek was really beautiful. We slept 3 nights in a tent which was cold but because of the good sleeping bags we didn’t felt cold. We got really good food and drank a lot of chai! The guides (Gali) and cook (Bika) were amazing, friendly and funny. We really enjoyed it!Written 17 May 2024
- 654katej0 contributionsAbsolutely brilliant experience with the best guideThis was the most wonderful experience. We were two friends in our 50s who were a little unsure about how we would manage. Mapping The Himalayas were brilliant from the start in terms of comms. Always responsive and helpful. We were brilliantly looked after by our wonderful guide Naryan and driver Anil from start to finish. The trek itself was sensational. Amazing scenery. So exciting to reach the summit. They provided crampons for the final ascent. The first camp was heaven. The camp for nights 2 and 3 more functional than beautiful but everyone very friendly. The drive there and back also really fun. An all round incredible experience. Big thanks go to Devish for his helpfulness and reliability. And to our friend Naryan for looking after us so brilliantly, for getting us up and back down that mountain and for being an all round lovely, fun, sweet natured soul. 🙏 all round top job, Mapping The Himalayas. Highly recommend these guys.Written 3 April 2024

- 976shireenb0 contributionsWe love Narayan :)We had an amazing time with Narayan. He us so intersting, nice, gentle and attentive. You will gain a wonderful guide if you will go with him. The conditions were not easy and he made everything possible in order to make it nice for us. He's English is excellent and he told us many stories about the culture and religion. He realised that I want to see wildlife so wherever we went he was searching for the animals. He found us deer and a molan bird, which is an amzing colourful bird. We clibed to Tungnath in snow. He gave us coats, ski trousers, gloves and walking stick and those traction snow grips. He brought us water and fruit and anything we needed. He is such a lovley person and the trip was planned very well with many extra things to see on the way. WE LOVED IT!!!Written 19 March 2024
Trek leader bhawna ने पता ही नो चलने दिया और trek बिना किसी तकलीफ़ के इतने प्यार से पूरा हो गया ❣️ This was my first official trek, and for anyone who is looking to start off with trek this should be the first with Baromaas team and trek leader Bhawna. They handled everything very smoothly, travel, stay, food, guidance, timings… everything. & UNLIMITED Entertainment Complimentary ❣️ I will definitely be going with Baromaas team only for all my future treks! The views from the top of the mountains are fantastic, although some some smoke hides the sunrise.
The walk down the mountain provides beautiful sights of nature, small villas and waterfalls.
The tour operator (Mapping the Himalayas) provides an excelent service - good breakfast, snack during the tour, safe walking and orientation and support to the group members, and no hurry - allowing the group to walk on their desired pace with stops for photografy whenever desired.

I booked a private trek as a solo female and was not disappointed. Kaly was a great guide who offered plenty of stops, offered to help me when trail was loose, and even helped snapped photos! He kept a steady pace along mine, and made sure I was safe the entire time. He knows edible plants, talks with the local villagers, and gave tips for parts of the Himalayas where he's from.
The sunrise at the temple was great, but i was eager to get the trek down started, so I asked if we could start the trek early. He was happy to accommodate. After the trek, he offered some local tips as well, which were very helpful 🧘🏽♀️
