Book the day before and got quick response. Guide was on time. He offer chai and started a fire as we were early. Visited the temple but shoes must be removed so wear socks as ground is cold, this is January. Got to see sunrise and also full moon setting at the same time. Fruit platter was offered with warm chai before the walk. Guide was friendly n helpful, provided walking poles which was very helpful as path can be challenging. He was patient and gave you as much freedom to rest n photos. Wear pants and enclose shoes. Company is professional, friendly n responsive. Will do it again.

I did a first trekking with this company and everything was so magical and perfect that in less than two weeks I decided to do the second trekking in the Himalayas, this has undoubtedly been one of the best experiences of my life, the landscapes there are a spectacle, in the mountains you feel a very special tranquility and energy, I really enjoyed spending several days in nature, I feel very lucky to find "Mapping The Himalayas", because they think of everything, water, shai, super delicious food, homestay or camping with everything we need, they were aware of everything, the best for me are the people who work there, Thank you very much Kali, Devesh, Rahúl, I feel very grateful to them because they are very human, they accompanied me all the time, when the path did not seem so easy they advised me to continue, they are very patient, they help you when you need it, additionally they have very nice energy, you can see that they love what they do.

The Roopkund Trek has been a truly amazing experience! The trek was perfectly organized, the route was well planned and the crew was amazingly caring and sweet. The route was so beautiful, especially camping above the clouds and reaching the summit to have an astonishing view on the mountains. Thanks to the outstanding crew, the trek has been one of the most beautiful experience with tons of amazing views, tasty food, funny and sweet conversations and a pure feeling of happiness. Thanks to google and Trip Advisor we found this company and within minutes of messaging them had a hike booked in for the next day. We ended up doing a hike along the Ganges that wasnt advertised but met our request for about good couple of hour walk. Ankush arrived with a smiling face and off we went for The Best day, out of the way in to nature, away from the crowds we hiked and chatted, swam in a hidden waterfall , slowed down on the edge of the river and had hundreds of butterflies all over us - it was a magical and memorable day. Ankush our guide looked after us, shared local knowledge and his own philisophies and we had the most wonderful day. We rebooked them to take us sightseeing and again for the Kunjapuri sunrise experience. An absolute must do, another incredible experience with Ankush and another young guide ( should have written name down sorry) . The hikes, views and history they shared was just so wonderful, and made so much more by Kali and his team of gorgeous humans - we have been positively impacted by them and highly recommend anyone to use them - we’ll be back for a bigger trek next time. I really wanted to see the Himalayas while on this trip, and I was concerned cos I was by myself. However “Mapping the Himalayas” made everything easy and safe for me. I did the Chopta 4 days-3 nights hike. My guide Ankush took really great care of me from the start, the views were breathtaking, and the experience full on with local mountain people - nothing touristy or mainstream. Of course there were some challenges, lots of rain (for me monsoon season was the only possible date) and I had to get out of my comfort zone a little, but it was totally worth it! Would 100% recommend!

We did a 5D/4N Rudranath Trek with the help of MTH (Mapping the Himalayas). We met our trek leader Kalyan Negi aka "Kally Baba" and helper cum cook Vikram Rana aka "Vikka" in Rishikesh, which was our pickup and drop-off point. From our pickup till drop-off they managed all the things very efficiently, our vehicle was good, the food and refreshments given to us was very good, the places we stayed was good. Kally and Vikka know what they are doing, which made our trip so easy for us that we were not worried about a single thing. In addition, Kally has a lot of stories to tell which will keep you guys engaged while you are tried and resting. Vikka is a very nice and shy person he doesn't talk much but he is also fun to work with. I highly recommend using MTH for your any trek and trips anywhere in Uttarakhand, they have a efficient team and equipments to make your journey fun. One thing that people need to understand that you are going in the remote mountains where the facilities and food cannot be upto your expectations and mother nature can be ruthless but these guys will do everything to get the best for you. So don't worry about the comfort and enjoy your trip.

We did a 6 days tour from Rishikesh. We drove to Gangotri and walked from there to a mountain place called Tapovan. The trek was really beautiful. We slept 3 nights in a tent which was cold but because of the good sleeping bags we didn’t felt cold. We got really good food and drank a lot of chai! The guides (Gali) and cook (Bika) were amazing, friendly and funny. We really enjoyed it!

The views from the top of the mountains are fantastic, although some some smoke hides the sunrise. The walk down the mountain provides beautiful sights of nature, small villas and waterfalls. The tour operator (Mapping the Himalayas) provides an excelent service - good breakfast, snack during the tour, safe walking and orientation and support to the group members, and no hurry - allowing the group to walk on their desired pace with stops for photografy whenever desired.

Nice experience. A wonderful start to the day at sunrise at the temple. Then a pleasant hike to the waterfall, where we refreshed ourselves. The guide was very friendly, he told us a lot of interesting things, he took good care of the food and drinks. It's worth going!

We went trekking with this company to the Chopta tre. Everthing was arrange to the best. Spacial thanks to our guied Narayan, which his charm, kindness and his knowladge "made our trip"/

This is a scenic Tour setting out early doors, so you don’t miss the enchanting sunrise. Once you’ve had to peacefully take in the Sunrise and visit the Devi Temple, you’ll embark on the hike/trail back down the mountain. This is where my guide Ankush was truly great and came into his own. He even gave me his own trekking sticks to help and was able to talk through all the different sites and parts of the land while hiking along and made sure I was as comfortable as can be, even stopping at points for a breather and drink. What I learnt, this being my first time on this trek, and something that may help others after reading this in terms of how best to prepare for this trek / excursion is as follows: *) You have to be generally in physical decent shape to take on this trail comfortably. *) Please make sure you have the right footwear…. Coming along to this in your sandals or Nike’s ain’t going to cut it at all. Wear trekking boots if possible, that will support/protect you ankles from twisting and that are more likely to have deeper studs for grip *) This trail I would give a medium difficultly rating for someone who hasn’t done it before. *This is because there is allot of steep descending parts if this trail which there is “allot of loose rock and gravel” that you can easily lose your footing on, and it’s not a place you want to be injured. *)Theres no way around this as “the path, is the path” which for locals and experienced hikers will find easier then the first timer. I absolutely enjoyed myself and would do this again, but this time being better prepared and a more realistic expectation.
