What to Expect
Your guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel, where you'll prepare for a scenic drive to Monument Valley in an all-terrain vehicle. You'll have access to parts of the park that are off-limits to smaller cars. Located on a Navajo Reservation and considered sacred by Native American tribes, the multi-hued sandstone park can be tough to navigate alone. Your guide walks you through the history and background of each natural formation. With your choice of a sunrise or sunset tour, you’re guaranteed camera-ready views during the sun-kissed time of day known by photographers as the “Golden Hour.” The itineraries are fully customizable, so you’ll have your pick of some incredible spots, including iconic rock formations like John Ford’s Point, which served as film backdrop in many John Wayne Westerns. One of the most photographed rocks is the Yei Bi Chei, which resembles a line of tribal dancers. You’ll also get an opportunity to take pictures of the Big Hogan, a sandstone cave chamber, and Ear of the Wind, a mesmerizing, crimson-colored arch.

Our tour guide was Derek, who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and shared local information. After a screwup on my part, they were very accommodating and rescheduled us for a sunrise tour. Words can not describe the magnificence of Monument Valley, and to see and learn about it

Bouncing around in the back of the jitney for 3 hours was a blast. We learned alot from Harry. The best was a visit inside a Hogan, we got to ask questions and learn about the Navaho lifestyle.

Great tour, had ample time for photos, our guide was great, he had his granddaughter with him she is around 9 or so, both were very nice and informative. Our tour was for 1 1/2 hr. but was almost 2 hr. The tour can be dusty so a mask or bandana is helpful.
