Take the house tour and tour the grounds yourself. The story of the family is just as interesting as the house and family's part during the Civil War. You will standing quite a bit as well as climbing some stairs ,so keep that in mind.

Highly recommend taking the house tour. Our tour was conducted by a former teacher and lasted 90 minutes. It was so interesting to learn about Judge John Overton and his wife Mary and their eight children. I also learned that the judge was very good friends with President Andrew
