- AnnieDiR170 contributionsMust do- such a great experience! This was such a great experience! I took my Mom and she loved every minute of it. We got to see backstage and the dressing rooms. - JacDerocco0 contributionsGreat experienceThe venue is amazing to see. All of the dressing rooms were open to see and we could walk in many of them. The backstage is actually used for some events and is where Hee Haw was filmed. The main theater is fashioned after the original Grand Ole Opry but more modern and open. So much history to see here; I will come again just to look at the pictures and displays. The Gibson guitar chandelier in the lobby is pretty special too.Written 5 March 2025
- bhU8673XK0 contributionsNot Alot to SeeThe only reason to do the backstage tour is if you want to actually stand on the Grand Ole Opry stage (in the circle!). Otherwise, all you see is the back entrance where the performers enter, an empty room where Hee Haw was filmed and a handful of empty dressing rooms. Although our tour guide was very engaged and entertaining, the tour experience wasn't much of a value for the money.Written 5 March 2025

The history and legacy of the place is all around you as you tour the dressing rooms, backstage studios, and get to stand "in the circle" onstage. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour.Written 2 March 2025
- Jacqui6060 contributionsBack stage tour of ole OpryI would recommend this tour as it was really interesting and great to see all the back stage. It could have been even better if they had restricted the numbers on the tour. Because the group was so big there were times when you can’t see or hear the guide.Written 1 March 2025

- old-man-orange0 contributionsMust do - when in the area !!My wife decided we needed to see a show - not just wander around Broadway seeking out local talent. There complex with hotel and theater is very big and spread out, and we parked in the lot for $20 - if you get there early enough just park near Dave and Busters for free. The night we went the show was 2.5 hours with Jelly Roll the feature artist. It was a great experience in a beautiful setting - even for a guy who is only a mild country music fan. A must do in NashvilleWritten 21 February 2025

They do a presentation in the beginning, really giving you a better idea (if you didn’t already know) as to how special and rare it is to be inducted into the Opry. Our tour guide was super. We’re not country music fans but since we were in Nashville, many said you have to take in a show at the Grand Ole Opry. So we did. On the night we attended, performers included Dailey & Vincent, Bill Anderson, Carrie Underwood (yes, that Carrie Underwood), Henry Cho, Kip Moore, Russell Dickerson, and Lauren Alaina. You may not have heard of Henry Cho. He’s a comedian. And yes, he is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. And I have to say, this show was one of the highlights of our trip. This is not your father’s country music – there are drums, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass guitars, steel guitars…
We appreciated the format where each performer comes out and does a few songs, and in this case, a comedic set. So we’d highly recommend anyone coming out to Nashville, to attend a show, or more, at the Grand Ole Opry. You don’t need to be a country fan – you just need to appreciate music. A funny story… we arrived early to the venue and there weren’t a lot of people milling around. We went into the Opry Shop for what seemed at most, 30 minutes, and when we left the store, the ground floor was buzzing with people. There was a large crowd waiting for the doors to open. There were lines at the security gate. The stairs to the second floor were filled… Where’d these people come from? I guess the Grand Ole Opry is a happening place. If we come out again, we’re taking in another show. By then, we may be able to call ourselves country music fans.

We were only in Nashville for a short visit but the Grand Ole Opry has been on my ‘bucket list’ for some time so was a must see. The show was fantastic with six or seven acts, the most well-known of which was Ashley McBryde. The show was approximately 2 hours long with each act singing two songs and Ashley three, although I was a little disappointed as we had an announcer from the tv station doing quite a lot of chatting and advertising various food items and businesses and we would have liked this time better spent listening to more music! Our $189 seats were to the side of the mezzanine level but as the stage is so large, we still had a good view.
A word of recommendation, a warning really, is that unbeknownst to us, the Opry
is now part of Opryland, a huge development about 9/10 miles out of Nashville so if you want to see a show and do not have a car, it is necessary to take a taxi. I have no regrets about going as the concert was great but it must have been fabulous in its old home of the Ryman Theatre, however I now have another tick on my ‘bucket list’.

We didn't expect much but was blown away by the wonderful experience. The sound and acoustics and the warmth of the performers were amazing. The full house audience was like one happy family. The Opry house band was awesome. It was amazing to see great veteran performers as well as newcomers. The seasoned performers spoke with the audience and made us feel very welcome. They all shared a little personal bit about themselves which drew us in as a family. Gary Mule Deer gave a stellar comedy performance which kept us in stitches. Other surprise performances included a baton twirler and square dancers, Both acts performed faster and with amazing precision...more than we have ever seen before twirling and dancing in cadence with the musicians. Our announcer acknowledged the Canadians, New Zealanders and various states. Active duty and vets were also acknowledged. The house staff were all kind and welcoming. Because of my temporary mobility issues I was offered golf cart ride service to and from the main road. Restrooms were clean and in good working order. There were concessions of beer, wine, soft drinks, and hard liquor. We saw popcorn and carmel corn. Nearby were many restaurants for pre theater dinner. Overall this was a delightful evening. We highly recommend this experience for knowledgable country music lovers or neophytes like us,

My husband and I attended the evening Country Classic show on Apr.4. The Gatlin Brothers , who were featured, are a favorite group of my husband from years past. They are still solid but instead of playing the hits they are known for, they focused on doing a set of sing-along gospel, by request. That was a big disappointment! Next, Larry Gatlin brought out 2 of his young grandsons to do a number, eating up too much time and blathering. This add-on was cute but their talent was just okay. The female group, 'Sister Sadie' were solid and entertaining. The feature artist 'Gene Watson' left us wanting to leave. If you were old and liked old country, he might have had appeal. My husband felt his bass guitar player was more than irritating with his inappropriate hip and head moves.
The big kicker was the cost! We paid $360 US for tickets from Boxofficeticketsales.com. but were unable to open the QR code in the email. Buyer beware! The box office searched for our seats which were in section 18 row B. They were not attached to our email because they were from a 3rd party seller. Our only option to see the show was to pay for new tickest. We paid another $179US but missed the first act. Because the Opry is about 20 min. from downtown, we paid another $60 Us for transportation. A total cost of $600US, for a performance we did not particularly enjoy, hurt big time!
We would recommend sticking to the talented performers playing near the city center and on Broadway. You can choose what you enjoy at prices that are free or will not break the bank.
Although this should have been special way of celebrating my husband's 70th, it was anything but!

We wanted to bring our kids to the Opry after we had visited years ago and it was amazing. The Opry is a special place and holds an important spot in country music history.
It was a disappointing visit. The video at the beginning of the performance shows "Today's Biggest Stars" but they are not to be seen during the performance. There were few performers under the age of 60. It seems that the Opry needs to reevaluate their lineup and find some who may appeal to a slightly younger audience if the show wants any continuity into the future. I wouldn't recommend a show to my peers and certainly not ones with children, just because it wasn't very relatable. My parents who are in their 70s would have liked it very much, though. This isn't to say there weren't talented performers, but they were mostly old acts that no longer tour.
I do appreciate that the show was family-friendly and fun. The emcee did a great job and so did the performers. However, getting some fresh faces would be a good move for the Opry. I believe the Opry is a great institution and for what they charge patrons for tickets, they could hire some new performers.
Pre-paid parking at the Opry was easy and cost about $24. It was a short walk to the auditorium. We didn't purchase food or drinks at the venue, but the people sitting behind us sure seemed to enjoy the beverages. Too bad every place now pushes alcohol sales which does affect the audience experience whether one drinks or not. :(

Booked tickets in advance and redemption address implied location different to theatre box office, this was not the case as the voucher was redeemed at the theatre box office. On entry bags are searched and one is not allowed to bring in food or drink, while that is ok it is not ok to change $6 for a small bottle of water and $15 for a single shot of spirits.
Our seats were in tier 5 but central and we had a good view of the stage. The show overall was good but felt rushed and curtailed in the second half. Individually the acts were very good but T Graham Brown was poor and Oak Ridge boys were rescued by their young singer and also gave what seemed to an abridged performance as they were leaving on tour straight after the show. The highlight of the show was Wyatt Ellis.

The Grand Ole Opry Show was intended to be the highlight of our time in Nashville, but it was just okay. Tickets are expensive, and I was expecting to see great country talent. Instead, it felt like they just patched together the random assortment of artists who were willing to show up. Two of the arts were were in their late 80s, one was a songwriter we had never heard of who sang his own songs, one was an enthusiastic 10 year old relative of one of the musicians making his musical review, as well as two renditions of square dancing. They were all okay, but for the price we paid I was expecting current, household name musicians and to be wowed by the artists. Charles Wesley Goodwin also performed, but he was very low energy and his heart didn't seem to be in it. The saving grace was a few songs by Vince Gill and the Oak Ridge Boys. I would say go if it's on your bucket list, expect to feel like you overpaid for the experience, and temper your expectations.

This is a great venue. We were all not happy with the show however because when we purchased our tickets a couple of months ago it was supposed to be “women of country “. They changed the show and there were repeats of a prior show that we saw months ago. Very disappointed and it was definitely the worst show we had seen there. When we have visitors from out of state we will definitely NOT recommend the opry as a must see anymore. What a waste of time and money. So disappointing. They can definitely do better.

We are not massive country music fans, and had no idea who any of the performers were, and had only heard a couple of the songs before. So to pay $400 (Australian) per person for tickets up in the second tier is pretty steep.
The show was just okay. We saw about 8 performers, of which I would rate 2 as really good, 2 as okay, 2 as pretty bad and 2 as awful. The show goes for about 2 hours with an intermission. I would have enjoyed it much more if I had only paid about half the price.
They try to sell you parking tickets too. Don't bother, you don't need it. There is free parking just across the road at the shopping mall. And don't buy any food or drink at the venue. The prices they charge are scandalous.

Saw this on the TV show Nashville so when actually came to Nashville, had to check it out. I admittedly didn't know any of the acts, except Carrie Underwood but there were better ones than her that night. I particularly liked the Opry Square Dancers who danced to the house band violinist's solo. Old Crow Medicine Show, a Canadian group from Saskatchewan were by far the standout performers of the night.
It's a pretty good venue, steep stairs like a stadium so you get a pretty good view, also like a stadium has TV screens. The host kept inserting advertisements into his spiel, which was surprising and tacky for what I assumed was the greatest venue for American Country Music in the world. Stiff like "Big Bob's Mechanics, get 10% for using the codephrase Do We Really Need the Extra Revenue That Bad, that's Big Bob's Mechanics, open six days a week.
I left during the final song by the final performer (Carrie Underwood) and those on the door seemed surprised by this. I told them yeah I've got to catch the last public bus for the night but I don't know exactly where the bus stop is. They had no idea, I thought that was pretty pathetic, they should be trained with this information. Even the ones outside on crowd/traffic control gave me incorrect information such as all the buses are over in this direction. There's only bus, and it wasn't that direction. It's actually on the outside of the shopping center, where the food court is if you go through the doors. Only costs $2 to get back to Central.
