Overview
See a historic southern plantation in Nashville—the Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson—as well as the Tennessee State Museum on this full-day tour. On this tour, journey back in time with your guide and visit two historic locations in one day, with time for a traditional Southern lunch (own expense) and a drive through Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Highlights
  • A stress-free Tennessee plantation tour ideal for first-time visitors
  • Visit the Hermitage and Tennessee State Museum
  • Skip visitor center lines with included tickets
  • Hassle-free transportation from Nashville hotels
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your downtown Nashville hotel. Drive to the Tennessee State Museum to learn about the history of the "Volunteer State." Drive to Nashville's oldest cemetery, Mount Olivet, and see the graves of many leaders. Continue to the Hermitage, a plantation that was once home to former President Andrew Jackson. Visit the museum, explore the mansion, and wander through the grounds. See old farm buildings, slave sites, a tulip grove, church, and more. The tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Prompt pick up at our hotel. So the day started out great. Our guide was knowledgeable but lacked personality. Lunch stop was a buffet filled with unhealthy but filling food because cafe at hermitage was closed. First stop was at state museum. I wish there would’ve been more

We visited on Sunday, Sept. 29th. We purchased tickets ahead of time on-line. We arrived at 10am, so there was not a lot of foot traffic. We enjoyed the house tour and the duel. I see the duel is only on certain days, so it is worth going on a day when it is presented. We did

Hello! We’re glad that you found the Historic Tennessee tour worth spending a day with us. Andrew Jackson was certainly a nuanced president, and it’s great that you learned more about him at the Hermitage. As of writing, the Duel is available every Thursday – Sunday. Plan for a whole day of interesting Civil War history, great facts, and so much more. Our Grey Line tour was wonderful. Driver had soo much knowledge of the Nashville area, we learned so much even before we arrived at our destinations. A great follow up to your Belle Meade visit

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Both homes were beautiful, exquisitely maintained, and interesting. Our driver, Steve, was excellent. My only negative comment is that he talks WAAAY too fast. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge, but it was sometimes difficult to understand
