- laura1997n0 contributionsAbsolutely worth every penny! This tour is a definite must for any Gavin and Stacey fan! We went to on the 12th of October and our guide 'Sally from the Valley' was excellent and so entertaining. The tour is also very well organised and thought out from start to finish. It is three hours of fun and you learn lots of information as well as visiting some memorable sights from the show. I cannot recommend this tour enough, thank you!Written 24 October 2019
- LeanneCirencester0 contributionsGavin and Stacey tour - excellent!Brilliant tour - lots of fun. Sally from the Valley was a lively and entertaining guide. Great to ride on Dave’s Coaches around 4 main sites (including Stacey’s house - went inside) and a welcome pub stop. Plus, places pointed out along the way. Lasted just over 3 hours and finished on Barry Island beach at Nessa’s Slots. Very good fun on a lovely sunny October afternoon!Written 20 October 2019
- Darren C0 contributionsGreat way to spend a SaturdayVery well organised tour, lots of facts and stories and a laugh a minute. The tour lasted over 3 hours with 4 stops along the way, not forgetting the pub stop. Lots of photo opportunities and a quiz on Daves Coaches to win raffle tickets, with the raffle drawn at the end of the tour. What's not to enjoy? A must for all Gavin and Stacey fans.Written 14 October 2019
- samburns70 contributionsAmazing tour well worth the money!I went on this tour by myself and was included very well by the tour guide. It was great to see the locations of which the show was filmed and there was a good amount of trivia told by the guide throughout the tour. The bus although old was still a nice touch and makes it more of a memorable experience being on the bus they actually used on the show. The raffle and photo opportunities were nice touches also. I definitely recommend this tour to any fan of the show you wont be disappointed!Written 30 September 2019

- Steveuk20190 contributionsGavin and Stacey tourWent on this tour today and was very impressed, top class tour and our guide (Carrie from barry) was very knowledgeable about the series and locations we visited, highlight of the tour was visiting Gwen and Stacey’s house, this is a true highlight as the lovely owner gives the visitors free rein of the house and lots of photo opportunities, was very impressed with the tour made even better by the fact we travelled to the locations in the original Dave coaches bus,Written 24 August 2019
- Anniemaire19820 contributionsFunWent on this tour yesterday and as an avid Gavin & Stacey fan, it was crackin. There was a few minor hiccups like the original bus wasn’t available and Dave never paid the rent on his caravan but that all added to the day. I’ve never laughed so much. Carrie from Barry who does the tour is absolutely amazing nothing fazes her and she was such good fun. Would recommend and hopefully I’ll get back over to do it again.Written 22 August 2019

You started the tour outside a train station and then it lead you to the caravan park where Dave Coach lived. When arriving at the site the caravan has gone and all there was to see was the concrete base. We then attended the church where Neil the baby and nessa and Dave were due to marry. After this there was a pit stop at a pub for 30 minute, this is not necessary as part of the tour. You were shown various landmarks round Barry while passing on the coach, this was not the original coach just a coach that has Dave coaches on it. We eventually turned up at Stacey's house, the curtains were closed but they had lots of images from the tour on the window. When entering the property Glenda the owner was sat on the sofa and you could see lots of images in the dining area of the cast, you could wander into the kitchen and outside. After seeing the downstairs you could go upstairs to Stacey's bedroom which "apparently" was left untouched. There was no access to Bryn or Doris property. On the way back to the drop off point near the beach you passed another train station where the lads came out of to go round Cardiff. At the sea front there is Marco's where there is an image at the side of the cafe where you can have your picture taken. The tour is 3 hours but it could be done in a lot less time.

What a brilliant tour this turned out to be. we had the most wonderful time, and did not stop laughing all the way around. The hour host Sally I believe, was cracking, so much fun and knew so much, with handy little bits of info about the programme. nice stop for a drink in a country pub, before we carried on with the tour. all in all brilliant

Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our Gavin & Stacey tour around Barry Island and the surrounding area. It was great to reminisce over a telly programme that was so enjoyable over the years and to see the places where the filming took place.
The driver and guide both worked so hard during the few hours of the tour and it was such great fun. A must if you are a Gavin & Stacey fan.

Me and my daughter had always wanted to do the tour so we booked it and so glad we did, it was amazing. Got to travel on Dave's actual coach, the tour guide Carrie from Barry was great, she kept us entertained the whole time, didn't rush us at all and it was all well thought out and fun. We couldn't believe that we actually got to go in Gwen and Stacey's house, the lady who lives there just let's you wander around and she has lots of memorabilia everywhere. We would recommend to any fans of the show to go, it's well worth it.

Fantastic tour if you’re a Gavin & Stacey fan, it’s great it’s still loved so many years on. We were picked up by Carrie from Barry & ‘Dave’ on Dave’s Coaches (the actual one!) right outside Barry Island train station (not to be mistaken with Barry station!) about 10 minutes before the guide was about to start. We waited about 5 minutes for a hen party that didn’t show up. We had commentary along the way by Carry who was pointing out sights and buildings used for filming on the show, and interesting facts about Barry Island. We went to the square first where Nessa dressed up and was a statue, Carry brought along a silver hat and jacket you could wear with a Nessa mask for pictures if you liked as well as masks for all the other members of the show. We then went to the countryside for a trip to the church where Brynn had his singing moment with Doris beating the drums (out of time!) and Neil the baby was christened, and Nessa nearly married Dave. Dave then drove through narrow lanes to a lovely country pub nearby which was nice to have a breather and a gin! We then went back to Barry where we visited Gwen’s house, with the lovely owner Glenda proudly letting us into her house where she has kept some parts exactly as it was when they were filming all those years ago, such as Stacey’s bedroom, the kitchen and the garden with lots of memorabilia everywhere for you to look at. This was the perfect place to recreate the scene of Nessa proposing to Smithy! ❤️ We then headed towards Marco’s cafe and Nessa’s slots where the tour came to an end. We went on the 2p machines and a lovely man inside Nessa’s slots let us have a Brynn mug which was worth 500 tickets (we only had 296!) so was happy. We then popped into a few shops and bought some Gavin & Stacey merch with fish and chips on the steps to finish it off. What a great weekend away and the tour was absolutely brilliant. Highly recommend if you’re a fan!! All I’d advise is take a mini fan for the couch on a hot day and maybe some anti-sickness tablets for the couch as it is 30 years old haha!!

Had an absolute lush time with Karry from Barry and Dave's coaches yesterday. Karry the tour guide was crackin'! The whole time she was on a microphone speaking about the different filming locations as well as playing some throwback songs from the show and coordinating a superfan quiz! It was honestly a once in a lifetime experience and I just loved sitting on the coach just like Nessa and Stacey did when travelling to Leicester Square!
There was also a nice little pit stop at a quaint pub near where Nessa nearly got married which was really nice for a little drink, snack and toilet break.
It was also amazing to see Glenda, the owner of Gwen and Stacey's home as well as seeing opposite (Bryn's house). It's a little Gavin and Stacey shrine!
I couldn't recommend this experience enough and I wish the tour well for the future. Not a single regret travelling from the Portsmouth area to join this experience.
Ps. The driver of Dave's coaches actually looked so shockingly similar to the real deal!

This tour was a real mixed bag for us.
The guide was wonderful, really bubbly, enthusiastic and funny.
When Dave’s Coaches first pulled up blaring ‘Islands in the Stream’, we all smiled but after hearing the song three times the novelty started to wear off.
Dave’s Coaches is a slow rickety old bus, it is hot and when they open the roof vents yes it does leak rain. Having said that it is the coach used in filming so the experience wouldn’t be the same going around in a new air conditioned bus.
The first stop was at the square where Nessa posed as a statue it wasn’t overly interesting on our opinion and there are better sites we’d have like to have seen. Everyone was handed masks for a photo opportunity but these had eye holes only and there were mucky mouth marks inside of them where they’d been used before. Not very pleasant.
We then went all the way out to a church five miles outside of Barry to view where Neil the baby was christened and Nessa and Dave nearly got married. This was a long journey in a slow bus taking up much of the tour. The guide kept making reference to an energy company she worked for on the side (random) in between really blaring music - mostly ‘Islands in the Stream’.
We then got taken for a half an hour stop in a pub with no connection to the show. Bar area had lots of flies and smelt very sickly. Disappointing as if they wanted to add in a bar stop to the tour there were plenty to choose from that were connected to the series.
We then went to Stacey’s house. Being out in the street was great and there were lots of photo opportunities. Weirdly we then went in the house owned by a lady called Glenda who was sat on the sofa in a face mask. A truly lovely lady but it felt uncomfortable being in her house with 30 other people who were left to roam around. There were signs indicating she is disabled and we couldn’t help but worry she was being exploited as people freely walked around her house.
We finished up at Nessa’s slots. Marco’s cafe was closed. The booth where Nessa worked has long since gone so no photo opportunities here.
A bit of fun but not worth the money. Really milked the show even though most areas of interest are no longer there. Advertised as three hours but most of this is spent travelling and in an unrelated dirty pub.

We absolutely loved this tour. My daughter is a Gavin & Stacey superfan, we visited on Good Friday. We were met 10 minutes before the tour outside the train station by driver Dave and tour guide, Carrie from Barry! Both were extremely friendly. We didn’t know prior to arriving that we were going round on Dave’s Coach!! Music from the show was playing in between Carrie giving her superbly narrated tour. We left Barry to visit the caravan park, the church complete with pub stop, then back into Barry to visit Gwen and Stacey’s house - what a lovely woman Glenda is opening her home to everyone on the tour. We finished off at Marco’s and Nessa’s Slots. Chips on the beach before the drive home and a quick ride on the Log Flume. Barry is a charming little place that we’ll be visiting again. Any fan of the show should do this tour. Superb

Interesting to see all the filming locations and lots of facts along the way. Going to see the slab of concrete where the caravan 'used' to be was a bit pointless. The visit to Gwen & Stacey's house was a bit weird if i'm honest. The owner was on the sofa and would have been interesting to chat with her but her daughter was there and when we said hello she very quickly told us how 'pissed off' she was with all the visitors. Not the most friendly of welcomes and it's fair to say we rushed around. The inside is like a shrine of G&S with memorabilia and tat on every wall and surface. Not sure it's necessary - this lady could remove all this stuff and it would still be interesting for fans, and she could lead a more normal life! Presume she's cashing in nicely but if she's that pissed off then i'm sure she could shut her door! Overall bang tidy and worth doing.

Is there somewhere to park your car close by, also is it suitable for someone who has a walking difficulty
Written 20 June 2019
There is a car park across the road from Barry Island train station at only £6 all day. The trip does involve some walking... we had a lady on our trip heavily pregnant and she struggled (the hot weather didn’t help this!!)
