Overview
This private horse-drawn carriage tour of downtown Charleston offers the flexibility to explore the Holy City at your own pace. You and your private party have the guide’s full attention, making it easy to ask unlimited questions and customize your itinerary. Plus, moving by horse-drawn carriage means covering more ground in less time.
What to Expect
Make your way to a centrally located stable in downtown Charleston to meet your private guide and board your carriage. Unlike most Charleston horse-and-carriage tours, this one has face-to-face seating for a more intimate experience with your private party.

Tour through 20 blocks of the Charleston Historic District, visiting top sites, such as City Market, the Battery, or Rainbow Row. Your guide fills you in on more than 200 years of Charleston history—from its early days as a small colony to its recent revival—and you have plenty of time to ask questions. Plus, because this is a private tour, you can make special requests to take photos or stay and admire the views.

After one hour, the tour concludes at the original departure point.

Another enjoyable ride

We have now taken 3 private rides with Palmetto over a 2 year period and have loved them all. We learn something new every time. David was our guide and he is excellent. Highly recommend doing this when in Charleston.

David is an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining Charleston native who provides the perfect narration around town. The whole venue with Red Barn was very pleasant and accommodating. Glad we chose a private tour as it felt intimate and slow paced. Beautiful tour (section 5B) of...More
