Landmark Distillery, Wigle Whiskey, re-ignited Pittsburgh's whiskey tradition. A twice nominated James Beard Semi-Finalist, 10 years voted Pittsburgh's Best Distillery and 5 years as the most awarded craft whiskey distillery in the country by the ACSA, visiting Wigle is a Must-Do in Pittsburgh. Join the Distillery team Saturdays for a tour and guided tasting. They'll walk you through how they start with organic, local grain to produce their award winning Rye and Bourbon Whiskey, Gin, Rum and other spirits. Throughout the tour they'll regale you with the true tale of the Pittsburgh’s Whiskey Rebellion, one of the country’s quirkiest and most pivotal events. The tour includes an explanation of our distillation process, a history of the Whiskey Rebellion told through the eyes of their namesake Philip Wigle, and a seated tasting of straight spirits. Rude Manager Left a Bad Taste
We got reservations a couple of weeks in advance and planned a to have a drink at the Christmas bar before eating. The Christmas bar was cute, with great holiday cocktail options. When it was time for our dinner reservation, we asked the bar tenders if we could take our drinks to the next room for dinner and they said yes. We were greeted by a man who appeared to be the manager in the next room by him rudely scolding us for bringing our drinks with us. We apologized and told him we asked, then took the drinks back over. He was very unpleasant and seated us at a four top table even though there were five of us. Mind you, I had these reservations for weeks. We crammed into the tiny table and proceeded our meal. The food was unmemorable and the old fashioned was just ok. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Disappointing.

Come for the spirits, chemistry, and history lessons; stay for Dave, John, and Wigle's incredible products!
If this is the only experience I have in Pittsburgh, I’d be more than satisfied. The tour was both informative and uplifting, thanks to our fantastic guide, Dave and our talented bartender John. Dave was not only kind and knowledgeable but also created a welcoming atmosphere that fostered interaction and learning among the group. His humor made the tour dynamic and engaging. John was a genuinely kind human being that just made me want to linger longer. Dave and John make a dynamic duo and their genuine passion for what they do is contagious! You absolutely shouldn’t miss the exceptional spirits they craft and the amazing vibes they offer. We ended the night by taking home a bottle of my favorite drink from earlier in the tour, while continuing to connect with fellow group members. “When Britain taxed our tea, we got frisky. Just imagine what will happen if you tax our whiskey.” — With Dave leading the way, you won’t have to imagine; he’ll share the entertaining history with you!

What a really fun tasting experience
This was an entertaining tasting. There are plenty of spirits to try besides the variety of whiskeys. I love the presentation. They include ice cubes and a cool dropper bottle that gives you a variety of tasting methods. You will walk away with a bottle or two after trying their spirits. They also give you the recipes for their cocktails. What a nice bonus!

      Dinner and Drinks
Amazing food and drinks. The food was top notch and the attention to detail was great. We had a variety of appetizers and all were delicious. The drinks were very enjoyable. The menu has something for everyone. I highly recommend a visit here. Make reservations as the space is small.

      Great atmosphere
Great atmosphere. I had a flight of whisky and then bought a bottle of the Port Cask Rye. The bartenders were experimenting with drinks while I was at the bar.

      This place is a gem!!
A friend of mine recommended this restaurant and whiskey flights - so my wife and I decided to give it a try - we had never heard of it. It was excellent from start to finish! We had a reservation - were warmly greeted and taken to our table immediately. Our server appeared immediately and helped us walk through the whiskey flights. I am actually not a whiskey drinker but loved the presentation and tried (and liked) every one of the whiskeys offered. The food is excellent. We had mushroom toast, burrata with grilled asparagus and pierogies with kielbasa and sauerkraut (which was clearly homemade) and everything was phenomenally delicious. We couldn't resist splitting a burger which simply enhanced the entire experience. We will absolutley go back!

Found this place 4 years ago. Had wonderful drinks and great food. Walked in and the place has had a major overhaul. It has a beautiful bar area and tables to sit, eat and relax. Had their pork sandwich which was delicious. When done having drinks and a bite to eat pick up a bottle or two of their whiskey or other bottles of alcohol. You will not be disappointed.

      Rye is the right whiskey
Informative, fun tour of the distillery, including the making of rye whiskey, the history of Pennsylvania whiskey (the Whiskey Rebellion, Prohibition). Tasting of 3 types of whiskey included in the tour. Lasts about an hour to an hour and a quarter. Afterwards, a drink at the bar and some reasonably priced bar food. Good shop for the whiskeys.

Very tasty cocktails, also had good appetizers. A little off the main road but a nice walk. The ability to buy the liquor there was a nice touch.

      Love it there
Excellent indoor and outdoor dining. Outdoor pet friendly. Love fish and chips. Rye whiskey a family favorite but you can taste all before buying. Waiter was dear. I wish I remembered his name.

Put some Wiggle in Your Wigle
We did a romantic train getaway (well, as romantic as Amtrak coach allows) to Pittsburgh over the Valentine's Day weekend. Thankfully we did some planning and signed up in advance for the eventually sold-out Valentine's Day "Whiskey and Chocolate" event at Wigle's Downtown Tasting Room located just a short stagger from the Embassy Suites where we stayed. The Tasting room was small, crowded....and terrific. Wigle spirits were provocatively paired with dark chocolates. We also sampled a couple of imaginatively yet deliciously concocted cocktails. We left too soon that night so others could be seated. Returning the following night we had a more serene but equally enjoyable tasting experience and our duffels were clanking with Wigle distillations when we boarded our return train. Thanks Wigle. We'll be back!

      Very interesting
The location in cozy. The history lesson was great. The outside venue was nice. I for one don't drink whiskey but I still had a good time learning about the process.

      Drink local
Did a walking tour with walk the burgh and this is the last stop. It is a great little tasting room with a great selection of locally made craft cocktails. If your downtown and like a great cocktail this should be on your list.

      Wigle is at the Airport
Got a taste of Wigle at the Pittsburgh airport last week. Their whiskeys are unique and very nice to enjoy. Little disappointed in the limited food selection offered. But definitely worth a stop if your in between flights.

      Fun, local place
I love bourbon so I search it out when I travel. Wigle was right down the street from our hotel. Unfortunately we went on a Tuesday which is not a tour day. The whiskey was good and I liked the smoked bourbon enough to buy a bottle. The tasting room is under construction so basically we sat at folding tables. The family that runs it is very knowledgeable and friendly. They made us feel at home. Their recommendations were also good after we described our tastes. A fun stop.

We learned so much about regional history and the whiskey rebellion as well as the evolution of whiskey and the the process that goes into making it. We got to sample some delicious cocktails as well as sampling a variety of their spirits and liquors. I especially enjoyed the cinnamon spirit (I love fireball, but I liked this better!) and the coffee liquor. We went early and ate lunch at their restaurant and really enjoyed the lox and the pork chop. Our waiter and our tour guide were both excellent! Thanks!

Tour not only included many spirit tastings but was a very interesting history lesson. Gail was an excellent guide as was John doing the pouring. Be sure to ask for tastings of the other spirits they have. The Honey Bourbon is very smooth but the Limoncello was our favorite.

We went on the tour of this local distillery, and it was a delight. Our guide was friendly, informative and humorous. She told us all about the Whiskey Rebellion (we didn't remember much about it from high school history), how it related to the western region of Pennsylvania, and how Wigle Whiskey got its name. We were able to sample as many of the whiskeys and liqueurs as we wanted, and even got a $5 discount on anything in the shop. It was a fun and tasty way to learn about this great company.

Great spot for lunch or dinner. The cocktails were excellent and the service was great. Fun tour of the distillery with lots of information about the Whiskey Rebellion! Tasting at the end ws nice but tour guide could have participated/continued to educate us during this period. Overall a good time and would strongly recommend!

We had a fun time at the chocolate wine and whiskey event then took the incline to the top of a big hill with all the restaurants had a fabulous meal with a good view. I was surprised how clean Pittsburgh was the Marriott we stayed at across from the pirate stadium was absolutely wonderful the people were exceptional. The big benefit was the free bus to the casino and to the incline etc I will definitely go back to the Marriot again

We went in as a group of four on a Tuesday. We had a blast. We shopped and look at everything then we did the 4 sample tries. Bartender was patient answered all our questions. Let's us try the pickle drink...before we made our purchases. Hats off, great place.....will bring friends who come and visit us.

This tour was a lot of fun. Gail (our tour guide) was exceptionally knowledgeable and obviously loved her job. Great storyteller. The whiskeys were very good (plus the gin and rum!).
Also do yourself a favour and stop to eat in the restaurant beforehand - the sober pretzel bites and pierogis were to die for and absolutely hit the spot. 10/10 recommend.

Had a lot of fun! Our server was great and the patience of a Saint. We asked lots of questions about the different tastings and ate the perogies.

Our top favorites: Him: Old Fashioned Cocktail (in the bottle), cinnamon whiskey and gin. Her: Apple Whiskey, lemoncello and old fashioned cocktail.

Unfortunately, they were out of spiced rum and peach. We'll try next time around!

The perogies are fried and delicious! They come with kielbasa, sauerkraut and a bit of sour cream. So very good!

Recommend it to anyone who enjoys whiskey!

The tour offers 4 samples and an informative tour. Stories on the founder Mr. Wigle. History is interesting and delivered in a fun way. There are a few additional samples that can be had also. The pickle whiskey is surprisingly very good. The Limoncello is very good. The cake strength rye is excellent. The tour is well worth the money and time.
