- Trek321110 contributionsViator Exclusive Bike tourFabulous couple of hours with Kelly and Sarah, exploring street Art. They were local and knowledgeable, and shared alot of the playfulness and 'weird' of Portland. A great insight in the industrial eastside or Mural area. THk you. from Sydney, AustraliaWritten 10 January 2025
- lauriep8480 contributionsGreat trip with impressive Portland insightsOn a foggy January day Sarah's tour truly made Portland shine. - alJ1282HN0 contributionsImmaculate vibesIt was a lovely ride around the east side of Portland. Sarah was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and a great guide. Her dog Bear was adorable and the food carts she chose were all bangers. It was just her and I on the day after Christmas so some carts were closed, but Sarah never made experience feel lacking and it was nice to hear about the histories of this charming town while snacking on good food. Highly recommend!Written 28 December 2024

My wife and I were out from NY visiting our daughter and decided we wanted to try something different for an excursion. What better way than some sightseeing and cardio. We looked over several options and decided upon the bike tour. The reviews were positive so why not give it a whirl.
I checked the long term forecast and booked the best day possible. The 9AM tour worked for our schedule and we were greeted by Sarah and Lizzy. Sarah fitted us for the appropriate bike, helmet and gave us a brief description of the hand signals she’d be using and we were off. We toured 4 of Portland’s 6 quadrants with periodic stops for a history lesson and/or other note worthy points of interest. We stopped at a doughnut shop midway through the tour for some refreshments.
My wife is not an experienced bike rider and she had no issues keeping up with the tour and navigating the streets. Portland is a “Bike Friendly” city and makes you feel at ease. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique way of sightseeing this tour be part of your bucket list. Thank you Sarah and Lizzy.

Lovely bike ride around Portland . The ladds addition is a hidden gem with all its incredible rose gardens that actually get to walk in and touch . Anna, our tour guide clearly knows, and loves her city. She was flexible with the stops ( we wanted to do coffee instead of bakeries ) and also very accommodating as we were a group with varying levels of comfort on bikes. She took us through the street art , poetry inscribed along the roads , the bike friendly neighborhoods and bridges. A singular experience that you can only get with a knowledgeable local. I would 100% recommend this experience. Totally worth its price.
The tour company had bicycles in various sizes, raincoats in case people didn’t have one. We had bright sunny, cloudy, light drizzle and hard rain - all within the 4 hrs - thats Portland for you I guess:)

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) did the 3 hour Bike Around Portland: Bridges, Donuts, Poetry and Roses tour on a Sunday morning. Street parking at the office was plentiful when we arrived at 8:30 am, but had filled up more by the time we left. After getting bikes assigned (and seats adjusted to our liking by the friendly staff), signing the waiver, picking out helmets and grabbing the included bottle of water, we rode over to the next parking lot for a short Portland road safety lesson and a went around the group of 9 patrons for introductions, plus our energetic guide, Anna. Our family really enjoyed the tour. Since this was our first full day visiting Portland, this was a great introduction to the city. Anna shared some history, some trivia, and her own experience living in Portland. She gave recommendations on places to eat and things to do. There were a couple steady uphill places, but most people in decent biking condition should be able to manage them, but Anna was quick to point out that walking with the bike if needed was perfectly acceptable and she would take time to let the group get back together before continuing on. We felt very safe on the numerous residential streets and bike paths the tour took. We greatly enjoyed the one long stop to eat at Blue Star Donuts and the Boulangerie French patisserie. Anna made sure we had plenty of time to purchase and eat. We also stopped at a lovely and fragrant rose garden, and a quick stop at a coffee house/public bathroom. There were several other informational stops, too. Going in the bike elevator and across the two bridges was fun. I am sure there was some information we missed when en route, because if you are not in the group right behind the guide, you may have trouble hearing some info as even our small group got a little spread out at times and with wind and traffic noise, her voice could only carry so far. We all thought this tour was very fun and informative and a great value. Loved Anna's recommendation to eat lunch at the nearby Hawthorne Asylum Food Cart Pod. We also did a tasting flight at nearby Bearlic Brewery while in the area.

My husband and I did the Bike Portland-Bridges, Doughnuts, Parks and Roses tour this past Sunday morning and it was fantastic!! The night before, we booked it on a whim to wrap up our weekend getaway in the city. The experience definitely exceeded our expectations.
We arrived in the morning and two staff members were helpful getting helmets/bikes ready for the tour. Anna, our tour guide, introduced herself and then made sure everyone had everything they might need. It felt relaxed, yet efficient. After some basic ‘housekeeping’ info was shared and everyone had a chance to introduce themselves(there were 8 of us on the tour including Anna) we began the adventure. Anna was very knowledgeable about biking in the city, which helped with the comfort level we felt on the ride. She shared fun facts and lore about the neighborhoods we traveled through. We made various stops along the route, getting a chance to
learn more about the city and try some local food/drink. Overall we absolutely recommend this tour and will be back again for another one they offer. We especially hope we will be able to book with Anna! She was so kind, funny and really took the ride to the next level.

I highly recommend this fun bike tour if you are looking for a fun way to learn about Portland’s culture and history while biking around sight seeing the city. Dustin, our tour guide was excellent! He was remarkably knowledgeable about Portland and very friendly. The bike ride was about 9.5 mi long with several stops at locations that only a Portlander would know of.

although this bike tour was fine, it did not tour the areas advertised. the group was much too large to actually learn about the city, donuts were not discussed nor included, poetry was read as we zoomed by on bikes and if you were in the back you heard nothing. areas were super pretty and very bike friendly, but overall underwhelming. Bikes were comfortable, tour guides knew a lot about the city but we learned most during private conversations.

Hi there Jill. We have made changes due to Covid and some of them are unavoidable. When we do have bigger groups like yours we bring an extra guide and focus on private conversations as a way to deliver narrative that you can’t hear in the back while we’re riding. Due to social distancing, we often see people standing farther apart at stops, and thus private conversations are our solution. We have changed our route slightly because of the impact the pandemic has had on Old Town; it’s not as pleasant for bike tours, and we can’t go to doughnuts on Monday because the shops are closed due to Covid. I’m glad you enjoyed our bikes and the many conversations that we did have. Our city is pretty indeed.

We booked an afternoon tour but the heatwave made that impossible. Sarah worked with us to find another tour and it was great!
Dustin was an awesome guide and he did a fantastic job checking on our group. There were only 6 of us in the group and that’s a great size.
There are a few hills but very manageable and the tour is good for anyone who is comfortable on a bike. You don’t have to be a bike rider, just comfortable on a bike and willing for adventure.
The tour includes a stop for donuts and even the 2 of us who aren’t donut eaters enjoyed them:).
Highly recommend this adventure as a way to learn about the city and see quite a bit of it on a fun, fast bike ride.

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Portland! Our tour guide, Anna, did a great job of teaching us about this cool city while taking us through some beautiful tree-lined, art-filled neighborhoods with memorable (and delicious!) stops at places like Blue Star Donuts and Cafe Pajaro. We also visited some hidden gems like Poet’s Beach and the Clinton Theater. The views when riding over two bridges were amazing! The mostly flat streets and lanes designated for bicycles along with several stops/breaks made it very enjoyable to explore the east side. Be sure to keep an eye out for a “M.A.M.I.L.” sighting! ;-) This is absolutely a very worthwhile way to spend a morning in the City of Roses!

The bike tour was great!! Sarah, our tour guide, was great - personable, knowledgeable, knew the city really well - and helped us to discover the city (this was our first time) in a way we wouldn’t have otherwise. It was a great way to see the city as we began our trip. Would definitely recommend!

This tour was such a great time! I don't bike a lot so I was a little hesitant to take a 10-mile bike ride. But I was eased into it by Sarah and Edwin, who reminded me how to use the gears and started out slow. I was wowed by how beautiful the weather could be in March (I need to come back in June for the roses!), and everything was just starting to bloom. I thought it was a great time to visit -- quiet streets, great art, and just such a welcoming, engaging experience start to finish.

Hi, my sister is an adult with Down syndrome. We bought her an e-trike from an east coast company. Trikes are essential options for people with disabilities (physical and/or intellectual/developmental). I'm surprised no bike tour companies in Portland offer the option of choosing a trike or e-trike (e-trikes (electric trikes) help those with mobility/strength issues or joint pain ride pain free and conquer uphill/uneven terrain). Please try to add such options to your rental choices (and see how you can adjust your routes accordingly)... it will make your tours much more accommodating and accessible. Thank you!

Hi there. How many people maximum per tour? Ty!

I'm in my 60s and not very fit, but I do yoga and am not weak. I just worry about keeping up. I'm also a little afraid of riding in traffic, but your tour sounds interesting. Are your bikes e-bikes? Please let me know what you suggest. Thanks.
Written 3 July 2021
Hi there! Our pace is pretty easy-going, and we pick the quieter bike boulevards to ride. We don’t have e-bikes, our route doesn’t demand that kind of assistance.
