    Portland trolley
This was an excellent experience - probably one of the best of these types of tours we have ever been on. The driver was careful and safe, and in addition gave a detailed narration of what we saw and where we went. May was so knowledgeable and good at explaining things. She was just awesome. We also enjoyed being able to get off for awhile and enjoy the rose garden. We were blessed with perfect weather as well. Huge success!

Great way to see the sites
Very nice and easy way to see the Rose Garden & Japanese Garden. We had plenty of time to walk around the gardens & enjoy the beautiful flowers. Our tour guide provided us with lots of facts and history about the area.

Pink trolley for a pleasant afternoon
We took both bus tours and split it up in 2 days… Jeanne? Was our driver on the pink bus, very accommodating and pleasant… the rose garden was interesting but not so much my cup of tea.

    Amazing wonder!
We were visiting the area & signed up for the tour. We were the only two people, which I think worked to our advantage. We learned so much about Portland & surrounding areas. The tour driver, May, gave us a narrated explanation of sites we passed on our way to the Falls. When we arrived at the Falls, she even got off the bus to point out more things & even told us that the best ice cream around was available there! We highly recommend this tour. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely book another

    Great tour. Dubious service
We took the waterfall express from Portland to Multnomah Falls and then did the hop on hop off waterfall trolley. The staff was super friendly and helpful but the company itself was lacking. The waterfall express confirmation I got said to the pick up point was at the Benson Hotel but when I got there, there was no bus. I called and got a pre-recorded message that was no help but luckily someone picked up the phone when I called back and they were able to give me the correct location. The tour guide on the bus gave us lots of history on the drive through the gorge and we enjoyed the hop on hop off part. Unfortunately the park was taking down some trees along the road and this caused the trolleys to run seriously behind. Totally not their fault but also they did a terrible job communicating to customers and we had no idea what time each shuttle would be returning to pick us up which made it difficult to know how long we could stay at each stop. Our trolley driver was super friendly and we had a great time chatting about native flowers while we waited for the road to re-open but the haphazard schedule meant that we didn't feel comfortable stopping at all of our planned stops. Assuming that everything is running on schedule I would recommend this but just wouldn't count on the company giving timely information. One group that we picked up on our way back after a 40 minute delay said they called the company to find out what was going on and were told basically everything was fine and they didn't know anything about delays. The communication could definitely have been better but the drivers themselves were really top notch and redeemed the tour

Excellent tour. Should be done at the beginning of your stay in Portland so you can go back and do some of the areas
We got to see places in Portland that we would never have seen by ourselves. May was very informative and knowledgeable.

    Audio system didn’t work
Our Greyline bus #41 audio system was not working properly. The tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable but we could not hear a word he was saying from the very beginning of the tour. We told him know the audio was extremely muffled however he was unable to fix it as he was driving. At our first stop he made some adjustments but the system still was not projecting his voice. It was very frustrating as we all we’re looking forward to learning about the history of the area. We gave up complaining because was not his fault, the system was broken.

We booked to start our tour at 11:00. The trolly was already 10-15 minutes late then. A loop is supposed to take 55 minutes, so the schedule is based on that. But it was completely unreliable. We went to a stop and waited 35 minutes. Then we ran back to stop one so we can adk the guy at the ticket booth what was happening. Then when took the trolley again, we got dropped off at Washington park, we double checked with the driver to make sure we would be back in time to take the trolley down to the city an hour later. We were at the stop ten minutes early. After waiting 40 minutes, we had to call an Uber to be able to get back to our car. 10 minutes later, when the Uber picked us up, the trolley was still not there. The hop on hop off is a nice idea, and Phil, the driver did a good job as a guide, but with only one trolley making the loop and the schedule being so unreliable, it simply doesn't work. I wish we could at least get the money back we had to pay for the Uber to get down from the mountain.

We purchased this tour through a Groupon app for the day we would be in Portland, March 27th., for 2 passengers. When we tried to call for directions on where to meet Trolley, the voice recording stated that tours don’t start until May & there are No Refunds!! Seriously!? This information was not posted in any of the ads- or I wouldn’t have wasted my money! So angry with this company, who seem to be in the business of ripping people off. While there, we also discovered that you can buy a day pass for the streetcars for $5- a much better value. If I ever go back to Portland, I will not be patronizing this Business & will warn everyone I know to steer clear of them. Expensive lesson learned!!

I am sorry but your anger should be directed at Groupon. It has been very clear in our communications with Groupon that we do nto start our Hop-On Hop-Off service until May 25th. Please contact Groupon and request a refund. We will approve it, if they ask us too.

My suggestion is to do this tour first thing! We saw so many cute areas to explore...The Alphabet District, Pearl District, Rose Garden....Our tour guide/ bus driver was very good! She kept the narrative going along with the bus.
Do this tour to get a great overview of Portland! You'll be glad you did.

We enjoyed the tour in spite of the disorganized ticket sales booth. The website states that no reservation is needed. Don't believe it. The tours sell out and people are left waiting for the next departure, roughly an hour. Advance purchase tickets don't guarantee a departure time. Decent tour and a good way to see the city. Gray Line tours needs some serious improvement with sales organization.

Thank you for touring with us. On occasion we do sell out but instead of continuing to sell we limit sales at peak times to try to ensure that everyone has a seat. We have 7 to 12 departures a day in an attempt to meet our guest’s needs. We do not indicate that no reservations are needed. We do not take any reservations as it would be counter to the hop on hop off touring concept. There no hop on hop off tours in the US that we are aware of that take reservations. During peak season and popular departure times it is best to arrive a little early to ensure you have a seat.

When we visit a new place, we frequently take a Hop On/Off Tour to acquaint ourselves with the city. This was one of the best ones because the guide was extremely professional and knowledgable. We began at Pioneer Square, where we bought our tickets and boarded the trolley that took us all over Portland and included 14 stops at the major attractions. We usually prefer staying on for the entire run to avoid wait times to board again, depending upon how much time we have in the city. Highly recommend this for first-time visitors. At $34 a ticket for adults, it's a bargain if you factor in the cost of parking at each stop.

We took the tour to get an overview of Portland after paying $14 for a
very hard to find parking space. Except for the very beautiful Washington Park area the various points along the way just didn’t have much to offer besides shops, restaurants and same-looking modern apartment buildings. Even the stories about Portland weren’t that interesting. We felt like our money and time would have been better spent by picking the places we wanted to see and paying parking fees there.

We Purchased this tour and exited at the zoo to spend a couple of hours. When ready to continue our tour, we walked towards our bus stop as the bus was approaching, we were surprised to see that the driver did not stop. She rang her bell twice to announce a stop, passed the pickup point and stopped at the stop sign, then rang her bell to leave. If we waited for the next bus, it would have been 1 more hour. We took the light rail back into town. After talking with sales lady, we receive a credit for half of the tour and an apology. But I am still upset that we never got to see the second half of the tour. This could have been a great tour of the city, but this driver failed us.

We used the trolley bus to get an orientation of where our hotel was in relation to the tourist bits of Portland and it helped a lot.

The drivers are all great fun to listen to even if they do get some facts slightly wrong (Eminem didn't go to Lincoln High School in Portland, it was Detroit).

They do keep you informed of where you are and take great care to ensure you're off safe and not left behind.

We only wish they kept running longer in the summer because finishing early evening (five-ish) loses them a lot of business.

Pretty cheap way to see the City and get some good, basic information. I wasn't overwhelmed but did enjoy it and given the price point it is absolutely worth the money. The only draw back is that if they are on a limited schedule it could an hour in between trolleys so it isn't a real efficient way to go from site to site but overall good time.

Thank you for your review. Our driver guides work hard to provide a good tour of Portland. Most of our guests find an hour is about the right time for the sights we visit.
