Learn how and why the area’s most heinous criminals were housed here in 30 restored buildings and accompanying ruins. Highlights include the church, the Commandant’s House, the prison, flour mill, granary, and penitentiary. Follow up the walking tour with a cruise on Carnarvon Bay, which gives different views and photo ops from the water. See the coast of Tasman National Park, including the Devil’s Kitchen, the Isle of the Dead, and Tasman Arch. Make a lunch stop at the Port Arthur Visitor Center or the nearby Felons (own expense).
