We had a wonderful time kayaking the Alligator River. We saw two gators and a variety of bird species. Kayaking the channels was our favorite part; I love all the beautiful trees and vegetation.

Griffin was an excellent guide! He was knowledgable and friendly. We really enjoyed this experience and found it beautiful and relaxing.

Gavin did an amazing job today. He was very knowledgeable ,friendly and patient. ( tandem kayaking is not for us) We had a great time. We got to see 1 alligator and 1 very brave turtle. Kudos to Gavin.

A beautiful morning kayak trip with 15 family members. We didn't see much wildlife but Kel and Mike taught us about the local wildlife, the refuge, historical facts about the area. We have booked with Coastal Kayak on previous visits to the Outer Banks and have always been well taken care of.

This review is for a kayak tour we enjoyed, AND Jr lifeguard camp!! We participated as a group of multiple ages in the kitty hawk kayak tour, and between being immersed in a beautiful and normally unseen part of the natural landscape here, the safe equipment and thorough instructions, and our knowledgable guide, the owner Herman, it was easy breezy for all of us, adults and kids, to have an enjoyable and meaningful experience! the second part of this review pays homage to the AMAZING Jr lifeguard camp that the Stoke Dispensary offers. Our camper is 11 years old this summer and has participated in 5 camps between this summer and last, that is how much she enjoyed it!! And she was as excited her last day of camp as the first!! The camp fosters friendships, healthy habits, safe practices, and local knowledge that sets the youth here up for a successful stint as a lifeguard or simply a leading member of our community!! The skills that they learn and the understanding of the ocean and safe practices is priceless. Tylor goes above and beyond for this camp to not only make it the best week for the campers, but to have that ripple out and affect our community in the most positive way!! Thanks to the whole team at the Stoke Dispensary and the lifeguards for the incredible opportunity to become involved in some of the behind the scenes activities and training that are part of Ocean Rescue.

It was a beautiful trip, I was a little worried about my elbow kayaking (tennis elbow), but the trip was very calm and easy going with beautiful scenery the whole way…. We saw one alligator swimming in front of us :-)

The surfing lesson given by the instructor Fin was great. He took time to work with everyone on the fundamentals including safe surfing tips. He then went with them to the surf and coached them while in the water. Both my grandkids were able to stay up on the board for several seconds. Both would go again, and one wants their on surfboard now. 😂

Had an awesome time surfing, something I've always wanted to try! The trainers Fin and Cole did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to learn. I'll be trying surfing on my own now!

Excellent family experience from start to finish! Kristie was a great, easy going guide talking us through the lake and river trails. The route is the perfect combination of peaceful, beautiful scenery for the grandparents and kayaking challenges that kept the teens interested. We saw an alligator, frogs, and lots of beautiful butterflies. If you’re in the area, this is the best way to spend a couple hours of your time!

My wife and I really enjoyed this outing. We did the 10 am tour. The kayak part was easy and relaxing; it was special to see this unique slice of nature. Our guide Jalon was a biology major, super knowledgeable and great to be around. We definitely recommend this experience.

This was very cool. We went in the morning and really enjoyed it. We barely saw one gator but the forest and the small paths were fun nonetheless. Highly recommend morning because we got done about 9:30ish and then drive into the wildlife refuge. This is where the fun really cranked up. We saw gators in the ditches and 4 huge black bears. If there is a lot of traffic take the side roads and you will probably see some just walking done the road. This was a lot of fun and got us to a place we likely wouldn’t have gone if not to kayak.

My Daughter and I went on a girls trip to OBX and found the Alligator River Kayak Adventure and we were not disappointed! Our guide Penelope was great! Highly recommend!!!

Great tour! Very doable for both experienced and novice kayakers. Saw two alligators. Also, the guide was great. Overall a great day.
