About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- LGraham20 contributionsA great experience! The tour in the sidecar was exceptional. Alex was knowledgeable, attentive and fun! He explained much of the history and told us about the events that made Bordeaux what it is today. My friend was initially hesitant but after the tour she said it was one of her favorite things we did!Written 18 September 2024
- T1528ROdanr0 contributionsAn absolute brilliant way to tour the city and learn it's historyMy wife and I booked the 45 minute tour while on our honeymoon. Our guide/pilot Alex was punctual, very friendly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable, while showing us around the city he shared a wealth of historical knowledge as well as pointing out great places to get food and drink during our stay. Once our tour was over both my wife and I agreed that we should have booked one of the longer tour options, it was a brilliant experience and should we return to Bordaux we will most certainly be booking again.Written 18 September 2024
- Vanessa-Jayne B0 contributionsBordeaux by bike and sidecar - superbFantastic way to see Bordeaux and the vineyards. Luke and Arthur were great guides and taught us loads about the Bordeaux history. The bike and sidecar was super fun - definitely recommend this !Written 1 September 2024
- Martin R0 contributionsHairy Bikers meets Bordeaux main sightsOur driver was fun and engaging and despite the weather which was cold and damp we still had fun. Sitting on the back of the motorbike was a bit scary but still funWritten 6 July 2024
- mikewT8880HM0 contributionsAmazing experienceAlex and Lucio were incredible tour guides. Our family (18 year old son) were so impressed with their intimate knowledge of the area. The 3 hour tour was a perfect mix of history and the city as it is now. We speak English but communication with Alex was flawless. There are dozens of areas in Bourdeaux that we would never have known exist without their local knowledge. Do not cheat yourself by missing this adventure. - KerryL13580 contributionsA fun way to tour BordeauxAlex and his staff were fantastic! We enjoyed cruising around town (getting many smiles from the locals), learning about the history of Bordeaux and visiting the different neighborhoods. We were able to go down tiny streets where cars cannot drive and across town on a scenic and exhilarating ride. We booked the tour in advance - it sells out - and it was our first event when we arrived in Bordeaux. It was the perfect introduction and helped us when we returned to the various neighborhoods on foot later in the week.Written 22 October 2023
- ddschur0 contributionsNot to be missed!!!Exceptional, outstanding and Magnifique! Lucio was our guide and showed knowledge, humor and a great personality that made our trip so wonderful! My wife was a little reluctant to take this tour but, at the end, was VERY HAPPY we did. The sights, energy and variety of things we saw was terrific and, as mentioned, Luc was a big part of our delightful morning in Bourdeaux. Well worth the time and money!!!Written 2 October 2023
- GlobeTrotting4274000 contributionsFun way to experience Saint-EmilionRiding on the sidecar or pillion was really fun! Our pilot Lucio was amazing and toured us around Saint-Emilion while explaining different things about the town. Definitely a lot better than ebike, I would say. Had lots of enjoyable moments and good photos!Written 29 September 2023
- C1564NIbrucem0 contributionsFun in Bordeaux on a motorycleRecently did the St. Emilion tour in a side-car with Retro Tour in Bordeaux. We were two couples traveling via a cruise ship. Our pilots Alex and Emmanuel picked us up promptly at the ship. Admittedly, as we are older couples, we had some reluctance with one of us riding on the back of the motorcyle. But I have to say, all took turns on the back and we had a blast! Our pilots were wonderful always checking to make sure we were safe and comfortable. They are great, experienced drivers. We toured St. Emilion, visited a winery for a tasting and toured on the bikes through a vineyard. I highly recommend this tour. All of us agree that this was one of the highlights of our trip. Try it - you will not be disappointed!Written 25 September 2023
- juliepE1463AZ0 contributionsFun side-car experience. This was such a fun tour. Our tour guide went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. We learnt some really interesting stories about the places we visited. Highly recommend.Written 19 September 2023
- SuperCuffy0 contributionsDon’t hesitate, book this tour!Wonderful experience with Alex. Alex was charming, fun, knowledgeable of the area, and made the whole afternoon very special. We were able to customize our pick up and drop off location and he was very easy to coordinate with. One of the best parts of our trip to France!Written 14 September 2023
- L3TMchrish0 contributionsFun in Saint Emilion! What an afternoon! Had a very special 4.5hrs with Alex and Emmanuel who were super friendly, informative and spoke perfect English. The bikes and sidecars look great and were a lot of fun, whilst the trip out to Saint Emilion afforded us wonderful views of the countryside and incorporated a wine tour at Couvent des where we got to sample some delightful wines.Written 12 September 2023
- Michaela C0 contributionsThe Kindest Tour Guide Ever! Our Tour guide (Arno/NoNo? Sorry I don’t know how to spell it🥲) was the sweetest, funniest and most caring tour guide ever. We had the best experience ever! He was so attentive and informative. My elderly mother really enjoyed the trip and loved him also, she said it was one of the best things she has done abroad. Well worth the money! Our tour kind was so kind and aware of the weather, he took us to cooler spots and even got us some water at his expense. Such a lovely gentleman and an absolute credit to the company he works for. He also has great taste in video games so he earns extra stars for that lol. Thankyou for a wonderful day!!Written 17 August 2023
- Niecey20160 contributionsWhat an Amazing ExperienceOmg I have to say a big big thank you to Arthur and Hugo for for a great experience on their sidecars! If am ever back in Bordeaux I won’t hesitate to try Retro Tour Sidecar ride tours….Thanks again to the 2 gentlemen for a wonderful great fun fun time! This is a lovely introduction to St Emilion. We met up with our guide Luc at the designated meeting place which is actually a winery cellar in the village. The bike was very comfortable and gives a unique perspective. Navigating small streets and even venturing into a vineyard itself makes it just a bit different. It was a bit hard to hear Luc from time to time, but it was ok. We had a brief tour of the winery at the end and a tasting. The best part was visiting the cellar which has been carved into the limestone. Lovely wine to finish off a fun tour

Alexandre was our pilot during this walk in the heart of Saint-Emilion.
After the visit followed by the tasting at the Château Franc Mayne, he came to pick us up directly at the estate. Very professional, smiling and very pleasant, it also has the appropriate equipment. Throughout this walk, he explained the history of Saint-Emilion, castles and vineyards. It was a real treat. We highly recommend

We chose the grand tour and did not regret it. It was a unique way to explore Saint-Emilion and its surroundings, although we knew it well. Our guide took great care of us and the children, including a teenager. I recommend, without hesitation!

We opted for the walk in Saint-Emilion with wine tasting and we loved it!!
A little nod to our driver Alexandre, for the getaway in the vineyards and the visit to Saint-Emilien, who made us discover the secrets of the region!
