- Make your own way to Linden Municipal Airport in New Jersey (a 35-minute train ride from New York Penn Station). On arrival, receive a safety briefing and overview of the trip itinerary. After takeoff, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island come into view. Keep your camera at the ready for a bird’s-eye view of the Manhattan skyline from above. As you fly over Williamsburg and the Brooklyn bridges, you spot the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and United Nations. The pilot’s live commentary ensures you never miss a landmark. Then what was going to happen was explained to us and how to follow the staff member to get to the helicopter. We were weighed so they could sit us in the correct seat to balance the aircraft. we had a 20 min flight. up to the west side of the city and back down , the pilot telling us what we were seein and interesting facts. then back down river and around the statue of liberty, up to the bridges and back. I paid $789 for me and my spouse for his birthday . When we arrived there were others waiting so we thought they were before us . We were not aware that we would be sharing a flight with FIVE others ! We literally drove 10 min up and 10 min back looking at nothing but buildings and water. We also were told we can not take photos only because they want to charge $35 for 2 photos that they take of you which they put no effort into . Horrible experience.

We had a great time. The weather was perfect and the visibility through the very large plexiglass windows was incredible. Our flight departed Linden Airport at 6:30pm and we able see the sun setting in the west. Our pilot ( Joe) pointed out all of the major attractions such as the twin towers memorial fountains, Empire State Building, Yankee Stadium and the Statue of Liberty. We were celebrating my friend’s son’s 13th birthday; I’m sure he will not forget this one for a long time. We couldn’t have asked for a better flight.

What an amazing experience from start to finish. Great welcome and very high on health and safety. My grandson sat in the front as we were sat according to weight. The pilot was very good and explained the history of the sights we were seeing amazing views is an understatement. Worth the money

The New Yorker Tour was absolutely amazing! The helicopter was state of the art, clean and comfortable. Our pilot was personable, professional, and very knowledgeable on the land marks and things to do. The entire staff was welcoming, answered our questions & emphasized the importance of safety. Although this was a site seeing tour, it was more of a VIP experience. I would highly recommend HeliNY and if I get the chance to go back will tour with them again!!

We ended up being significantly delayed due to the NJ Transit train line being in a complete mess. We let HeliNY’s customer service know and they called the crew and let them know.
This was for a friends birthday trip from UK to NY. So we were so concerned we would miss this experience or incur extra charges. But NO. HeliNY for us on the next available flight, gave us water when the machine was out of order (and we needed it being stuck at a train platform in 34 degree heat) and then let me friend sit up front on the helicopter.
The experience was awesome and the views, pilot and the staff made a pretty crappy day, awesome. Tons KD guys!

City Lights Skyline Experience is the same company as City Lights NIGHT Skyline Experience.
we were in a 6-passenger helicopter. 3 seats in a row in the back. 2 seats with backs to the pilot facing the 3. 1 person passenger next to the pilot. One side gets the view going up the river, the other side gets the view on the return.
the scenery is fantastic. NYC is big and beautiful. flight was comfortable.
when you pull into Linden airport it is a building on your left with a big parking lot. no signs anywhere.

The attention to detail and the constant updates by email were awesome. Change in departure times were handled with friendliness and consideration. You covered all the bases, from reservations, updates and explicit directions. Your departure from Linden airport was most convenient and did not incur NYC tolls and parking fees. Your staff upon arrival were very attentive and polite and worked as a well oiled team. Sawyer our pilot for the trip was most excellent in pointing out landmarks and very professional in his manner. The views are amazing and it was a very nice trip along the Hudson river and back to the Statue of Liberty. The pilot was very friendly and accommodating, the staff were very professional and thorough, and the ride was incredibly smooth. This was my first helicopter ride ever and was a nice introduction. My only suggestions would be that they have all of the seats facing the same way and maybe a bit more commentary from the pilot. Overall a very nice experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience flying with us! We are currently flying Bell 407 helicopters, which have 2 backwards facing seats. Our pilots top priority is your safety, sometimes they have to communicate with air traffic control or other aircraft which means they have less time to point out the sights. We're happy to hear that our whole team made you feel welcomes and that you have a nice time flying with us!

First time on a helicopter, so it was great to feel safe in the hands of professionals.
Wonderful flight from Linden over Newark airport and NJ container harbor to Manhattan via Liberty Island.
If you are flying from Linden airport NJ coming from Manhattan you can either spend 200+ $ on Taxi/Uber to come or travel via Train from Penn Station for 17$ Round Trip per person plus +2 x 10$ for the Taxis from Linden train station to Linden airport.

I surprised my husband with a helicopter tour around NYC. He’s obsessed with planes, so I thought he would enjoy it. He and I both LOVED it! It was so easy to book online. I got a personal call the day before to confirm and an email was sent with instructions. We arrived an hour early and were able to jump on an earlier helicopter. The staff was accommodating and the pilot was amazing. He was extremely personable and really funny! He told us everything we were seeing and made sure we got some great views for pictures. I will definitely book again next time we’re in the city!

No not on this tour. It flys out of the New Jersey municipal airport so you’ll need to catch a train out there from NY city Penn Station. It’s a 40 minute journey. It’s an inexpensive way too travel though I can’t remember the exact price. The tour provider offers a free taxi/shuttle from the station to the airport and back.
