He was extremely knowledgeable and informative and very funny! The tour bus was clean and had no mechanical issues. I would definitely recommend this tour and go again!Written 17 March 2025
- L1668GUdaniels0 contributionsNice break from Fremont street!Better than Fremont street! We went to Las Vegas for a family wedding. Stayed at the Golden Nugget for 4 days. By day two, we needed something different. Taking this tour was the highlight of the trip (besides the wedding). We had enough time to stop for pictures and stretch our legs. Really didn’t feel rushed, but could have spent more time at the dam. So much to see. I like to read all the plaques and information signs. So interesting, driver was very entertaining and engaging. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR. It’s a sure bet! Thanks for a great day! Dan S.Written 17 March 2025

Tour includes a photo stop at Las Vegas sign, 30 minutes on a bridge viewing the dam from a distance (which was enough time), and 2 hours at the Hoover Dam. A 45 minute tour of the power plant was included. There was enough time to take pictures, visit the gift shop, and go to the snack cafe. There was bathroom access at various points of the trip and on the bus. Water was provided. Wheelchairs can be accommodated. Photo stop at Lake Mead on the return and a drive through Fremont Street area was a nice addition. Knowledgeable tour guide and excellent phone support when making reservation.Written 14 March 2025

Our experience was hampered by a stormy day, but overall was good. Our driver Leslie was amazing. During the day she dealt with extreme weather that descended while we were at the observation area. She expertly drove through strong winds, snow, hail, and rain for several hundred miles. She professionally herded our diverse group and kept her smile and sense of humor even when members of our group didn’t return to the bus and set our schedule back.
I am also impressed with Las Vegas Gray Line because at the end of our day, I accidentally left my cell phone on the bus! We were able to easily track it down and pick it up the following morning. All Gray Line employees we interacted with were awesome.
It’s a long day—wear layers and plan for your needs for a 12 hour trip.

Enjoyed the day trip to the Grand Canyon. Prince the guide was very knowledgeable he made what could have been tedious fun and interesting with his anecdotes and a big shout out to Dominique the bus driver. We all enjoyed the day. On the down side one reminder would have been enough about the gratuity.

If you want to see the southern part of the Grand Canyon, this is an option, it is a full day tour, 4 hours there, 4 hours back, additional stops for bathrooms and meals (only lunch is included) that could be shortened, and around almost 2 hours at 2 viewpoints. I insist, if patience is not your thing, choose a more personalized option, but for this price it is in line with what you receive.
In our case there was a delay in the pick-up time at the hotel, but it may have been due to the removal works of the infrastructure used for F1.
Tip: Always check the weather, and prepare accordingly.

Remember P2! I say that because I went on the tour where Patrick was the driver and Prince was our tour guide and if you take this tour and have a choice, take it with those two gentlemen and thank me when you get back. They are both safe and excellent drivers, you feel well taken care of and in good hands the entire time. Prince kept the tour totally interesting with his wit and humor and historical fun facts along the way (he was easy on the eyes as well but that’s just me! lol). I totally enjoyed myself. i have a couple of suggestions. 1) bring some snacks with you. There are stops but it’s about 2 hours between them. 2) as Prince would say don’t be “that guy” and be on time because the bus will not wait for you and you being late can and will impact others experience. 3) relax and enjoy the trip. It’s very beautiful, breathtaking even. 4) no need to line up like a herd of cattle trying to beat the person behind you on the bus. Everyone has a seat that’s comfortable and ASSIGNED!!! Thus, it doesn’t matter whether you’re the first person or the last person to the meeting spot, your seat is the same which is good because you can leave your belongings on the bus while you sight-see because Patrick and Prince keep the bus secured. 5) PLEASE bring money to tip these gentlemen. Don’t be cheap and scoff at the notion of tipping. They work hard and do an excellent job to make sure your experience is memorable, so please take care of them as they take care of you. I think that’s all I would say to be mindful of but it’s a tour that I would take over again, it really was THAT enjoyable.

I really wish i could say something nice about this tour today with Greylines and our driver and "tour guide" Tony, but I can not..he arrived 50 minutes late, kept us waiting for collection in the oppressive heat and no apology.. during the drive up to the Canyon he just talked a lot of irrelevant stuff that we all found hard to follow. His driving whilst cautious (he is very proud of his 100% driving app) was perhaps over cautious and extremely slow…as a family we were all extremely disappointed with the day and didn’t see any value in the $1,280 USD we paid.. So if Tony arrives in a Mercedes black van #1917, your day is screwed (to be blunt).

Dear P7146FVs,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your Grand Canyon sightseeing expectations.
We would like to apologize again for the late pickup, which was due to an unexpected mechanical issue with the coach originally scheduled for your tour.
We are also sorry to hear that you did not like our driver/guide Tony's narration. Tony normally gets great reviews, so he must have been off his game that day.
There is no getting around that a day trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon makes for a really long day as it is over 570 miles round trip from Las Vegas, which is the closest large city to the South Rim & the National Park.
A day trip to the Grand Canyon National Park from Las Vegas is never meant to be an immersive experience, it is intended to give travelers a taste of the magnificence of the Canyon. For those wishing a more immersive experience, a multi-day trip is what is really needed.
Our company has been taking guests on day trips to the Grand Canyon for well over 40 years and our itinerary has been developed based on feedback from our guests over that time.
In closing, I want you to know we appreciate your feedback and we wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.
Sincerely,
Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service

To preface, purchased from the Big Bus tour company as a combo package. The price posted on trip advisor is much more affordable than most places on the strip are offering. Bus arrived pretty much on time. Terry was cool. Talkative and informative which some may appreciate. He did a great job keeping a group of 56 people on time and organized. Kudos to him. The lunch … was a little silly in my opinion. We stopped at Pizza Hut express, with the lunch voucher that’s included, I ended up getting a small personal pan pizza, a mac salad as a side and a fountain soda. We hit a bit of cold weather on the way so I ended up buying a $200 jacket as many other passengers did the same to prepare for the cold weather at the canyon. As another reviewer mentioned, water is under the bus which is not assessable while the bus is in motion. I would at least keep that in the overhead compartment as some may need access to it. There were a few clips and films played around the ride which helped pass the time by. There was a relief driver Maria that took over on the way home. Glad there is safety in mind for both driver and passengers. It is a long day. At least the passengers get to nap. Overall a good experience.

Overall a disappointing tour. Our pickup from the hotel was late by almost 40 minutes and I had to call the Grey Tours company for status on pickup time and was told the bus was delayed due to traffic volume. You would assume this was not their first tour and would have managed accordingly to accommodate for traffic delays. No traffic accidents were reported at the time. To add insult to injury, we were then held to a strict time schedule for when we could leave and return to the tour bus. Then on the way we dropped off a few passengers to the helicopter company and on to the Imax movie and lunch. Strict timeline of a 30 minute lunch break. We then returned to pickup the helicopter passengers we dropped off and back again to pickup their lunch from the same place we ate. You would have thought logically that the tour company would have allowed us more time to eat while they picked up the helicopter passengers since the were only receiving their lunches on the "Go" with lunch bags. Finally, we arrived at the Grand Canyon only to be told we had ONE HOUR to return and this is in contrast to their advertising that we would have 3 hours at the canyon. We then spent a few minutes at the Bright Angle lodge for souvenirs, etc., Complete disappointment and would NOT recommend this tour company. Spent almost a half day in travel to see the canyon for one hour. Lastly, I would recommend another tour company OR better yet definitely drive from Vegas the next time as opposed to being held hostage by this type of a tour company.

Dear L2453RJd,
Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your sightseeing expectations.
We are sorry for your late pickup When you work around the busiest tourism corridor in the world occasionally delays happen, usually the result of heavier than expected morning traffic, unscheduled road works, or difficulty locating guests at a previous pickup spot. We are sorry that this affected your day.
We are very sorry that you felt rushed during your lunch at the visitor's center. While its not intended to be a leisurely meal, most guest seem to find the timing to be about right. We are sorry that this was not your experience.
A day trip from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon National Park is never meant to be an immersive experience since it is more than 570 miles round trip from Las Vegas, the closest large city to the National Park. Rather, a day excursion is intended to give visitors a taste of this spectacular place. For those wanting a more immersive experience, an overnight or two is what is needed.
As to your comment that we promise 3 hours at the South Rim- that is simply incorrect. Our tours to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon are at the West Rim for a minimum of 3 hours, but with the much longer travel times to the South Rim, that simply is not possible on a day excursion. We simply do not promise 3 hours at the South Rim.
In closing, I want to once again apologize for your feeling rushed during the excursion, and I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.
Sincerely,
Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service

Our bus driver Tom was way more than a bus driver. He was pleasant, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the south rim. He is a man who loves his job and to call him just a bus driver would be a disservice. We took the 7am tour from the Bright Angel Lodge and it was not crowded there or at any of the stops along the 4 hour tour. I can’t speak to the other drivers, but I highly suggest that you request Tom. BTW- If you plan on going to other national parks, Tom is your information guy because he has worked at Yellow Stone and Glacier National Parks as a “bus driver” and vacations himself all over the country at national parks.

From canceling our initial reservation and making us change days (told it was mechanical…), to being 30 mins late @ pickup (scheduled for 6:15am - arrived at 6:45 with no communication as to why they were late!), to having to turn around & pick up ppl who missed their bus at the first stop, then to constantly waiting on people and having to go back and forth to pick them up, to the driver driving WAY too fast and the bus constantly beeping “please reduce speed”, to the company credit card being declined when we stopped for gas. Then having to change drivers because we were running so far behind and the driver wasn’t legally able to drive further, then having to stop a 2nd time for gas. And having to unload everyone off the bus to do so because it’s the law. This was a disaster!! I’ll never recommend this company to anyone. We could have driven ourselves and had more time at the 2 stops. It’s a 4.5 hour ride from the Strip. We were only given 45 mins at each stop. And two very brief meal stops. Honestly, this company is poorly run. Very disappointed. When this day is over, the tour will be at 16+ hours if we actually leave this last fuel stop (which has been at least 20 mins so far… credit card is probably getting declined again!). Very disappointing.

Rather than addresses all of your issues, I will directly adjust one. Regarding the relief driver- all motor-coach sightseeing tour from Las Vegas to South Rim of the Grand Canyon have a relief driver as the nature of the long tour legally requires a relief driver.
In closing, I want you to know we appreciate your feedback and we wish you all the best in your future travel experiences.

Long day, but a great day.
For those wondering, this is a long day tour, pickup is between 7am-8am and arrival back to Vegas 10-11pm.
The bus was a new bus equipped with a washroom. The driver Fhil was great, very knowledgeable and managed the bus well. As the bus was full, I appreciated that when boarding at each stop, he would ensure that single passengers were seated together; nothing more frustrating then to travel as a couple, and not have 2 seats together.
The tour was great, with appropriate stops along the way to stretch your legs and get food.
This was the 3rd bus trip I have taken from Vegas to the Canyon, and was by far the best run and value of the 3. I liked that once we were picked up stayed on the bus, other tours will bring you to a central depot to change buses.
Note that due to construction at the Hover Dam, Homeland Security will only allow tour buses that are on a dedicated tour of the Dam only to stop, this bus does not stop at the Dam.
I would give this tour 5stars.

Is there an optional tour to start at the Grand Canyon Village? I will not be booking a hotel in Las Vegas.

I am sure if you look on the tourist information there in Grand Canyon National park there will be . As the different rims take different amount of time to get to . I went to the south rim .
I hope you find what you need . Enjoy

Hello, is the tour also a good option for people who cannot walk long distances or on unsteady grounds?
Do you have to walk long distances?

On the regular tour is there an option for a short hike once at the Canyon?
Written 28 September 2019
We had an hour to look around the Canyon and walk through it.

If you select the tour only option, are you allowed free time at South rim while others do the Jeep and helicopter tours?

We went in April and and it was absolutely glorious. Just make sure you take plenty to drink with you. At the village there is places to purchase drinks and ice creams
