About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jackiefb450 contributionsSo many different experiences - desert, coast and national park. An amazing experience. We had a fantastic trip with our lovely guide, Henzel. He was so helpful, informative and interesting to talk to - especially since we covered a lot of miles in our 6 days! We climbed Dune 45 and Big Daddy in Sossusvlei, walked through the beautiful and barren Deadvlei, visited the Crystal Gallery and the Blue Grass Restaurant in Swakopmund. Then we had a great time in Etosha National Park - and were lucky enough to see lions, leopards and rhino, as well as lots of elephants, zebra and so many other animals. It was also interesting to stop off at various towns on the way, and get a glimpse of people just going about their daily business, in local dress, in the markets and at the street stalls. It was a lot to cover in quite a short time, but it was so worth it - and thanks again to Henzel, from me and my two sons!Written 11 October 2024
- bestaf4dablep0 contributionsWe booked a tour with Safari World Tours and were always with the tour guide/driver HenzelHello, I have just returned from 7 days in Namibia (a couple traveling with a 4-year-old child), we booked a tour with Safari World Tours and were always with the tour guide/driver Henzel. It was amazing and they arranged everything for us. I thought the price was very decent for a private tour and felt it was a great option for the type of tour and sights we wanted to see in the amount of time we had. Ask them for a quote. We are experienced travelers (49 countries), always plan and do everything by ourselves, and in this case felt it was great to have a driver/guide with us.Written 28 June 2024
- Scenic190994538040 contributionsAmazing Namibia!I booked a six-day camping trip with Safari World Tours. This was my first time in Namibia, and it was my first camping experience. The trip included Etosha National Park, Swakopmund and Sossusvlei. Upon arrival, we were greeted by John Cooper, aka “Cooper.” Cooper was fantastic. Cooper was prompt, helpful, knowledgeable, well-known, and respected. We never felt unsafe with Cooper driving for hours on long stretches of road. Cooper was helpful in setting up camp at each site, and he looked out for us to make sure everything was seamless. Each location was amazing. From seeing Rhinos, lions, and elephants in Etosha, to witnessing breathtaking landscapes in Swakopmund and Sossusvlei. If I plan another trip to Namibia, I will use Safari World Tours, and specifically request Cooper. My time in Namibia was unforgettable, and I give Cooper credit for making my trip memorable.Written 11 May 2024
- michelewG4830KD0 contributionsSIMPLY AMAZING! Etosha, Cape Cross, Swakopmund , and Sossusvlei !!SIMPLY AMAZING!!! This was a short notice trip! Booked a 5 day, 4 night Namibia Safari. From the booking and getting all things covered to getting picked up at the airport to the AMAZING SAFARI! Everything was more than what we could have asked for! Our guide “Henzel” was knowledgeable, he was very Attentive to all of our needs! He handled all checkins/outs, briefings were outstanding! He took us on a very safe journey, seeing as most of the roads in Namibia are Dirt! We absolutely loved him, and highly recommend him to anyone wanting to book with “Safari World Tours”! We did.. Etosha, Cape Cross, Swakopmund, and Sossusvlei !! We wish we could have had 2 nights in all places, ( Cape Cross you can do in 1 but the beach was amazing!!) Simply a trip of a lifetime!! A+++++++++++!!!!!!Written 21 March 2024
- marianamsdias0 contributions"Must have" tour for a Namibia smooth visit! We did the "7 Days Wildlife Etosha and Sossusvlei Namibian Safari (Accommodated)" with Safari World Tours in December 2023 and it was the best choice for our family! We are experienced travelers (49 countries visited) and found that to travel to Namibia with a small child (4 years old) a tour would the the best option, which now we can recommend 100%. First we asked for the budget and itinerary, then we booked the tour and exchanged a lot of information and Safari World Tours was always very fast to answer and provided all the details we needed. Very professional and trustworthy, their representatives made us feel even before leaving that the trip was well organized. They had a child seat for our daughter to use in the car and were always on time for all the appointments. Our guide Henzel was amazing, the perfect balance between being professional, funny, enthusiastic, informative, knowladgeable and trustworthy. He took care of us the whole trip, drove safely, knew all the local details, assumed the arrangements and left us with the easy task of just enjoying ourselves and this beautiful country. We thought 7 days would feel rushed, but it really didn't. We visited all the places we wanted and still had time to relax by the pool, beach or restaurants. Did some great extra activities as well. All the accommodation booked was high standard and the food was delicious. Couldn't recommend this company more and their responsibility for the success of our Namibia trip! Ask for Henzel, go with your family and you won't regret it ;)Written 10 December 2023

The accommodations were amazing, the driver very kind and the trip was very varied: beach, animals, hiking, boat cruise, snorkeling, ... It was amazing! We will definitely come back!Written 1 September 2023
- 329crisd0 contributionsBooking different from what they finally strange for youWe book 2 days camping ethosa safari, the camping indicated was inside Ethosa park with dinner included and just arriving during the afternoon, the driver told us that camping was outside the park. Finally we had to pay for the night and dinner inside the park + full quantity already paid for the tour. Clarence was saying that the camping outside was better, but never informed us before. Sleeping inside the park really makes the diference.Written 13 August 2023
- bojanv4370 contributionsLovely escape to SwakopmundSuch a short trip I had to accommodate during my short stay in Namibia. I did Dune 7 and a quad tour on my first day, while the second day was spent on a boat where I encountered whales, pelicans and seals. My driver was good and reliable.Written 1 August 2023

- O6531HQsaral0 contributionsIncredible tour and very knowledgeable tour guideThe camping trip to Etosha National Park was one of the best experiences in Namibia. We had a great time and also the necessary luck to experience most of the animals. The organization in advance was on a relatively short notice still uncomplicated possible. We were picked up on time by our tour guide, who did an incredible job on the entire tour. He took care of us very attentively at all times and implemented all (special) wishes, e.g. with the food. During the whole time, he was able to tell us a lot about the country, the people, the wildlife and even about the stars at night. We would book it again at any time!Written 15 May 2022

- mdsquaredtravel0 contributionsThis company is a scamWhile I was on the 8 day accommodated self-drive safari, I consistently had to ask myself whether this company was simply disorganized or was actually a scam. After the trip and subsequent communications with the company, I am convinced it's a scam. For reference, this is the same company as Enrico's Tours but changed their name due to bad reviews. A link to those reviews is at the bottom of this review. 1) My assumption was that they had made all bookings in advance when I paid my fees. This was not the case. They told me they had gotten the start date wrong despite me getting a confirmation of the itinerary with the correct dates, but my suspicion is that this was to cover up the fact they hadn't made any bookings. Instead of making all the bookings on the day this error was found, the location for accommodation changed nearly every day. In only one case had a booking been made and payment completed before our arrival out of 7 overnight stays. 2) The places where we actually ended up staying were consistently changed to a hotel or lodge at a lower price point than what was advertised on the itinerary we used for booking. 3) Twice we ended up having to pay for the stay ourselves (conveniently the 3 most expensive nights of the trip) and the company still hasn't reimbursed us despite repeated requests over the last month. The stress of never knowing if a booking had been made was a detraction from our trip. If we hadn't paid already, we would have set everything up on our own, but we were trying to get him to pay for accommodations whenever it was possible. 4) Most recently when I reached out about reimbursement for money we had to pay ourselves, his response was "Hopefully for my refund but Sossuvlei I am not sure but let me find out all I am back on Thursday and will give you indication exactly when. Because I am also waiting on my 5 star review." I think this indicates he would only refund us the ~$500 if we wrote a glowing review. I am not willing to deceive future travelers in order to allow this to continue. I have filed a complaint with the Namibia Tourism Board about Enrico's Tours and Safari World Tours, since they changed their name but are still the same operation. Enrico's Tours changed their name due to all the negative trip advisor reviews (see https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g293821-d13941947-Reviews-Enrico_s_Tours_and_Safaris-Windhoek_Khomas_Region.html). All this said, you should absolutely go to Namibia because it's an incredible and magical place. But absolutely DO NOT book through Enrico's Tours or Safari World Tours.Written 29 February 2020

The country itself was amazing, and I would return in a heartbeat, but the tour experience was disappointing due to Safari World Tours and the guide, Henzel. The vacation started off on a bad note with the guide being late, unprepared, and causing delays. The group felt rushed throughout the trip, with many meals being requested at quick stops at Spar, which was not ideal for a full-board tour.
Henzel, is sadly more of a driver than a guide, made inappropriate comments and was often grumpy. He also left the camp site with the vehicle and all of our belongs without communication, which made us feel unconfutable. While he did have some knowledge of the area, the group had to ask specific questions to get information. The lack of briefings and pre-planned schedules was a major issue.
The tour company provided an old, poorly maintained vehicle with broken air conditioning, and Henzel's tent lacked necessary features like proper covering. They also didn’t provide lighting at one of the areas where they knew there was none. There were also discrepancies in the tour itinerary, with activities and amenities falsely advertised. Overall, while the country was great, the tour experience was hindered by poor planning, inadequate resources, and an underprepared guide.

I had the opportunity to visit Namibia for the second time in October 2024, but unfortunately, my experience with Safari World Tours was disappointing.
Our driver, Henzel, was more of a driver than a guide. He arrived 30 minutes late on the first day with an empty tank and no lock for the boot to secure our belongings. There was no introduction or briefing about what we would be seeing or where we were headed each day unless we specifically asked. It felt as though he was simply transporting us rather than offering any insightful commentary or guidance about the places we were visiting.
As for recommendations, there was little to none when it came to local dining spots along the way. The one positive aspect was that Henzel did help book extra activities for us, but that’s where his initiative seemed to end. The communication and organization of the tour were lacking, which is crucial, especially when exploring a country as beautiful and diverse as Namibia.
To add to the discomfort, the A/C in the car wasn’t really working properly, which made the long drives under the hot sun even more unpleasant.
That being said, Namibia itself is an incredibly beautiful country, and the destinations, like Etosha National Park, the Dunes, and Swakopmund, are absolutely worth visiting. I will undoubtedly return to Namibia, but I will be looking for a more organized and informative tour experience next time.

My trip to Namibia was unforgettable. The country beautiful and the people are great. I booked a six-day camping tour. Our tour guide John Cooper made the trip that much more enjoyable. He provided so much information during each part of the tour. He provide so much insight into the culture of Namibia as well. From setting up tents to teaching about the Namibian people, history and cuisine John was definitely a friend. The untouched and preserved nature was breathtaking. The animal and plant life and the scenery was unreal. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. But if you do, definitely request John Cooper as your guide. You wont regret it!
