      First-class museum, first-class guide
Our guide Amanda was first-class. She could be an art historian! Knowledgeable about not just art and artists but also about time periods, society, and customs in the times in which they lived. Mandy made the tour very, very interesting and chose our goals well. It’s a wonderful museum, and there are so many options! Our guide has an obvious love for the museum which is contagious.

      Great museum- fantastic guide !
We enjoyed a wonderful tour with Mandy. She was a fantastic guide. She was very personable, accommodating, up-beat and knowledgeable. She was very informative and knew so much detail about the paintings she had chosen to discuss - and others which we asked about along the way. Most importantly, she provided us with context about each piece so that we could understand the painter and interpret the painting. I saw many classic American paintings in an entirely new light after hearing her explain the context for each painting. She made a great museum come alive for all of us.

      Best Tour Ever
Heath was the best tour guide we have ever had! He made you want to learn more after the tour was over. He gave us lots of information and pointed out things we would have never gotten from just reading the plaques. He was the best! Also, getting in before the crowds is definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Deep knowledge and exuberant engaging style
This was one of the most informative and engaging tours we have ever been on. Ben was just superb!! He was exceptionally knowlegeable and had such a joyful passion and exuberance. Our tour included participants from Japan, Italy and USA and Ben made a point to show us artwork that was culturally significant for everyone along with all the "big name" items. If I could give 6 stars I would.

      Brilliant tour - highly recommend
We had Ben as our guide for a 2.5 hour tour of the Arrowhead Institute. I couldn’t recommend him more highly - he was knowledgable, engaging and enthusiastic. We absolutely loved the tour and could have spent double the time listening to Ben!

I really appreciated Spiro's perspectives and how he was able to accommodate our group of five's requests on this AIC semi-private tour.

      worth every cent
Samantha was an amazing guide. Her expertise in art and familiarity with the Art Institute was the best introduction for first-timers to this museum. She's also conscientious of group members who had mobility limitations. I would have been wandering aimlessly in the vast collections without Samantha's lead. I very highly recommend using this tour.

      Fun ART story telling
Highly recommended, even if you've visited the Art Institute of Chicago before! I took a tour with Mandy, who was very friendly, fun, insightful, and a great storyteller. I did the tour for my friend who had never been to Chicago, but I ended up loving it and learning a lot. The art pieces I had already seen looked and felt different with all the historical stories and context Mandy shared. Super fun! :)

Amazing tour of the Art Institute of Chicago
If you want to visit the Art Institute of Chicago and want an expert to guide you, then don’t hesitate to book this. Ben has amazing subject knowledge and explains everything in an easy to understand manner. Max group size is 8 people, so you can be assured of a personal service over the 2.5 hour tour. Ben has a real passion for the subject and this really shone through. The tour was just the right pace. Ben answered all of our questions and his knowledge was amazing. Definitely made the tour. Will absolutely recommend to our friends. Good look with the PhD Ben!!

      Exceptional Experience
Joe was a sensational tour guide. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable of all the art and architecture in the Art Institute but he accompanied the explanation with interesting and clever anecdotes. It’s obvious why he’s taught Art History at prestigious Universities for so many years. Can’t wait to experience another tour at this amazing Museum.

Having a guided tour made our visit more productive and educational. Our guide Joe teaches art history and wasn't just knowledgeable, he helped us think about how we looked at art and learn to appreciate it. The Art Institute is huge so having a guide ensured we made the best use of our time and explored parts of the building we might otherwise have overlooked (like the section with scaled sized miniature rooms from different countries and periods). I'd recommend this tour to anyone and especially the small group tour because it allows you to get the most out of having an expert guide.

Marlin was terrific. He is a born storyteller, and made good use of that talent on our tour. Marlin tells the stories behind the paintings and sculptures, including the lives of the artists. He was very considerate, allowing us to sit and study a painting, while he explained what we were seeing. His enthusiasm for art made his presentation a lot of fun. The materials and links that he has emailed us will extend our enjoyment of the tour. We will look for Marlin as a tour guide when we get back to Chicago.

Mandy was a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable and pleasant. We learned a lot and she made the art come to life. We ended our tour a bit early only because we had 2 teens and a husband who were hungry and couldn’t quite make it a full 2.5 hours in a museum- lol!

Our tour guide Marlin came very well prepared, was very good a ‘dosing’ the amount of information shared (we had a limited amount of time) and had a great sense of humour😊. He was also very good a making connections between several pieces of art and different artists. We had a blast!

We had an amazing private tour with Sarah Bond. She was marvelous!! She has a great deal of knowledge about art (she should- she has a PhD in art history) and a genuine love for the institute. She gave us a good overview of the collection and also tailored the tour to our preferences. We had an enjoyable several hours with Sarah and would HIGHLY recommend her as a person and as a guide.

Mandy was an excellent tour guide, and the museum itself was fantastic venue. My wife and I are by no means art experts, but we figured February in Chicago would be mostly indoor activities. Although we were luckily wrong about the weather, this tour was an A+. We went through several periods of art with famous and lesser known artists. Mandy has an obvious passion and dedication to this material, and she also is focused on providing a well rounded experience. She provided us enough time for our individual experience, and her answers to questions felt genuine and insightful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Easily a top highlight of our visit.

We’ve been to the Art Institute many a time but Sam, our Tour Guide helped us connect with the art in an engaging way. She was able to get us into the Cezane special exhibit as well which was a nice bonus! Sam was able to alter our tour based on our party’s interests which worked out perfectly for us. Highly recommend

We had a wonderful semi private tour of the Art Institute of Chicago. Our tour guide, Joe, was fantastic and made the tour very enjoyable. He kept us interested the whole time by adding personal stories to his vast knowledge on each painting. Sadly, our tour ended all too soon. Thank you, Joe, for introducing us to the fabulous Art Institute. We cannot wait to come again.

Our original guide tested positive for COVID. The tour company was great to reschedule with another guide. Joe was incredibly knowledgable and able to personalize the tour based on our interests. He was an outstanding guide!

Having the knowledge of the artists, styles, and history of the time really added details that made the trip through an outstanding museum even better. As someone who has visited the Art Institute several times, I was worried that this wouldn’t add much. I was very wrong. Joe made this a great experience and we learned so much.
