- J3179TJmattheww0 contributionsGreat Chicago Food TourWas a great way to see lots of the downtown, and learn about some of the history of Chicago in a few hours. We got to try lots of great Chicago staples, and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this tour.Written 19 January 2025
- jahgtMD0 contributionsMust do Food TourMust do experience if you like food. We got to enjoy key Chicago food and it was all great! Enjoyed learning about the food, the city history, and the architecture on the tour. We went on a very cold day and it was still fine because there was enough inside time. Danny our tour guide was great and his love of the city showed through.Written 4 January 2025
- Mum2Tripletboys0 contributionsInformative and Delicious Chicago Landmarks and Food Tour!We loved our tour with Andre! Andre included many of the interesting and beautiful landmarks of Chicago. Not only did we have the opportunity to learn about Chicago's history, but we also enjoyed the delicious local food. The deep-dish pizza was delicious and not overly heavy as some deep-dish pizzas can be. We really enjoyed the Chicago hot dog and the roast beef sandwich. Andre took care to assure our sons with food allergies had safe food to enjoy. Andre was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. We would not hesitate to book another tour with Andre and Secret Food Tours.Written 4 January 2025

The food choices were fantastic & portions quite large!Written 29 December 2024

Very knowledgable about Chicago architecture and gave great insight on foods we tried, including the premier popcorn. He also accommodated my last minute request for a veggie version of the hot dog, which was very tasty! What a great time! Would 12/10 recommend, even in chilly weather!! Also, the pace of the tour was very manageable for the younger and older members of the group.Written 8 December 2024
- ania1965010 contributionsGreat Food, Great history, Great tour.Danny was a fantastic tour guide. Lots of history of both Chicago and the Food. The tour was well paced with lots of stops for rests (while enjoying delicious food) and meant that despite the cold weather we were quite comfortable the entire time. Consider skipping breakfast (we didn't and are consequently planning on skipping dinner). There is a lot of food, all of it very tasty. The only Chicago specific food that I was aware of before this tour was the Deep Dish Pizza...I learned that Chicago has a very rich culinary history. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes.Written 3 December 2024
- Funnytravelguy0 contributionsA great way to taste ChicagoJustin was a great guide. Funny, personable and full of great stories. The food was ready for us at all stops, which is not always the case on food tours.Written 2 December 2024

Whether it's a question prior to booking or feedback following a tour, they respond quickly. This Chicago tour really had a nice variety of local flavors. The tour was much more than we expected to see! Wear walking shoes since it’s a lot of walking and bring a water bottle if it’s a warm day. We liked the tour of the Library and Palmer House and all the food stops. A little disappointed we didn’t go to Portillo's though. Clinton, our guide was awesome and at the end of our tour suggested our group stop by Cindy’s Bar on top of the Chicago Athletic Association, which we did and the view of the lake was spectacular! Highly recommend all to go.
We understood gratuity was included for our guide in the price we paid so we did not tip extra at the end of our tour.
Would recommend this tour whenever you are in Chicago!

Clinton’s food was great . It was part food , part history lesson about Chicago, He not only gives you a lesson in the history of iconic Chicago food and its background, but also takes you into some of Chicago’s iconic buildings. He is an avid history fan so was able to answer many questions we had about Chicago and as first timers to the city, he gave us a lot of interesting facts and some great tips about this wonderful city . The 3 hours seemed to go so fast as we explored many areas of the downtown Chicago area . I would highly recommend this tour

Wife and I did this tour with our wonderful guide Susan, she was very knowledgeable about the food, the city and the architecture (which she obviously has a passion about. After the tour we called back into a couple of the spots we ate and purchased some to take home, that night we went back to Ginos and had deep dish for dinner. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested in getting a taste of traditional Chicago fare.

Easy paced and enjoyable tour. Sue did a good job of mixing in city history, culture and general knowledge along with a good sampling of food. Chicago is a good food town, so there are many places to try. If you have only a couple hours and want to get a variety of local favorites, this is a good tour.

What a great tour! Not only was the food amazing, our guide, Max, was outstanding! In addition to learning the history of the different foods we tried, he also pointed out interesting things along the way and gave us a mini historical tour of the city. Max is clearly passionate about Chicago history and food and that came across in a fun, informative, and delicious experience!

Our tour guide was Clinton. We started at Gino's Pizzeria and had slice of deep dish pizza, then Garret's popcorn, Luke's Chicago style hotdog, Willis tower Toreros Frontera's for flautas, italian beef sandwich and ended with Sugar Bliss brownies. The tour was more interesting than the food. Clinton had all kinds of info of the history of Chicago , how the foods became popular. Seems he had a little bit of history of all the buildings we passed. Loved the Chicago Library and Palmer Hilton hotel.
