About
The USCGC INGHAM was the longest continually serving, most decorated ship in Coast Guard History. Serving in active duty from 1936 to 1988. Only remaining American ship afloat to have fought in the Battle of the Atlantic. Command ship for several Philippines landings including General Douglas MacArthur's return to Corrigedor, he was aboard during this action. First allied vessel into Chinese waters at wars end. Two Presidential Unit Citations for support missions in Viet Nam. Also part of the Mariel Boatlift, when tens of thousands of Cuban refugees left their island home seeking refuge in the U.S. Now a National Historic Landmark and Coast Guard National Memorial to Guardsmen that have lost their lives in World War Two and Viet Nam. The Ingham also offers one of the best sunset views in Key West.

Historic story of service
Jun 2021 • Couples
Educational self-guided tour of a historic Coast Guard Cutter. Learn about World War II and Vietnam. The more you read the more you learn. Plenty for young people to see in display cases. Great for kids and any age who can still climb and go down ladders. I did see a sign for a rainy day tour so don’t let weather stop you. We met some volunteer staff. If former vets or anyone with a love of history and ships could volunteer even a few times a month, it would help. They currently only have 4 volunteers. Hope the City of Key West can support their efforts to preserve all the heroic efforts of crew who lived and served aboard the Ingraham through history. The most historically authentic sound was the recording playing in the Morse code room. A battle weary sailor from NY saying good-bye, asking that his family be contacted and that he loves them -naming each by name. So many people just hurried through the tour. Take your time to read, view, and listen.
Please take care to keep this ship going with more volunteers.

All Aboard the Ingham - U.S. Coast Guard History
Jun 2021
This is a great tour. It is something a little different to do when visiting Key West. The staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly. It was interesting to walk throughout the ship and imagine how the crew lived there. We highly recommend this tour. The small fee to go aboard and donations are put back into the ship to keep it available for everyone to see the history.

Cool Tour, Great Alternative to the Beach!
May 2021
First day in the Keys we got scorched. Spent the second day at the beach as well. By the third day we were looking for something interesting to do indoors. Take a break from the beach and see the Ingham! My family loved it! I have four kids from 8 to 16, and they enjoyed it to varying levels. They would get a little impatient sometimes when Mom and Dad read signs, especially in the museum portion of the ship. We would point out interesting tidbits and aspects of the ship to get their minds thinking and keep them engaged. They sat glued to the video, of course. But they did have a great time exploring the ship and learning about her amazing history. We all agreed it was great to be out of the sun. Cost wasn't bad, better then a lot of attractions in the Keys (note the cost of parking in Key West is brutal though). The crew members were all friendly and helpful, patiently answering questions from my kids. There was a lot to see on the ship, officers quarters, kitchens, bunk rooms, etc. We spent about 3 hours or so going through it, but it can be seen much quicker, especially if you breeze through the museum. Ended the tour with a stop at the gift shop and snack bar. They actually had craft beer on tap (not a huge selection, but still, quite welcome and refreshing)! Mom and Dad got some adult refreshments, the kids got ice creams...

Must visit.
May 2021 • Family
This is a must see for families and those interested in walking the decks of history and seeing what you don't get from history books or classes. The history of this fine ship is interesting and the self guided tour is well laid out. The folks on board are very knowledgeable and Capt. Bill is wonderful. This is managed by a non-profit group.

This is a great attraction. Well done as both a hands-on example of life on a Coast Guard cutter and as a history museum. Don’t miss this if you are visiting Key West!

Fantastic experience

Wonderful time. Very educational and interesting. Takes about 1 hour. Most of the tour is self guided allowing you to go at your own pace but there are staff that are more than happy to answer any question or just provide more history about the ship. Definitely worth the money.
