Overview

Get out on the water in search of bottlenose dolphins on this cruise from Clearwater. Aboard a double-decker catamaran, listen to your captain's commentary as he points out luxe mansions along the coast. You’ll cruise out into the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico to see the region's dolphins and learn about their biology and behavior. Pack light, as drinks and snacks are available for purchase on board.

What to Expect

Make your way to the tour's departure point near the Clearwater Memorial Causeway, where you'll be welcomed aboard a modern, double-decker catamaran.

After you pull out of the marina, your captain will point out the luxe mansions on the shore, some belonging to celebrities. Listen to tunes on the sound system, or visit the snack bar for a bite or a drink.

Once you get out into the Gulf of Mexico, the commentary will turn to the biology and behavior of your day's quarry, bottlenose dolphins. Keep your eyes peeled for jumps and dorsal fins, and learn about their role in the Gulf Coast's ecosystem. Dolphin sightings are guaranteed on this tour.

Return to your original departure point at the conclusion of your tour.

A good option to be on the water without the sun

A decent boat ride for 1.5 hours. The boat is nice with multiple bathrooms, a bar and decent selection of music. They do try to push the bar alittle, but that is expected. The captain does a fairly good job of explaining the sites as...More

Fantastic Tour! Eric was our tour guide. He did a wonderful job.

Wonderful tour. Our guide Eric was very informative. We saw several dolphins. What a show! It was a blast. And for the price for the wrist band for unlimited beer, that just did it! Fantastic time!!!

Awesome!!

This was my second dolphin watching cruise with the Tropics Boat Tours. They do such a great job of providing interesting info about the area as well as spotting dolphins and doing their best to follow/track them. So much fun!!

Myself and a friend booked to go on the dolphin trip as a last minute ad hoc idea on our day trip to clearwater. I was thinking "guaranteed dolphins yeah right" This was by far the best boat trip I have been on in a...More

Yes, my daughter was 15 months. She was able to walk for the most part on her own. Eventually I just strapped her into my Ergo carrier. It was easiest for her to see that way. She also loved to stand on some of the seats... More

It does go out into the Ocean but honestly just a little bit. You travel along Pier 60 beach. It usually stays pretty smooth unless and big boat is near causing waves.
