About the operator

- Dennykb0 contributionsBest charter ever😎👍Great day sailing out of Branford CT. The boat was wonderful and Eric was a most knowledgeable skipper and gracious host. I would recommend this for a great day with friends, family or someone special in your life.Written 3 July 2018
- Ryan O0 contributionsGreat way to experience boating high life without owning a boat.I don't own a boat, but I wanted to experience sailing in LI sound. This is a great way to have that experience without having to do any boat maintenance. I sailed on the 35' Nomade with a group of 4 adults and 2 children. 6 adults probably would have been too tight. We did the sunset cruise from 4:30pm to 8:30pm to avoid the midday sun. We left from Stonington and anchored off of Fisher's Island. You can swim off the boat. There is a table to eat on if you want to bring a cooler with food. It's a beautiful area. Words cannot do it justice. Eric the captain is a very friendly gentleman who was extremely accommodating. It's a lot of work sailing a ship by yourself with limited help. We were very appreciative. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a boat or a friend with a boat. This is the least expensive way in terms of time and money to get the experience.Written 26 July 2017
- SebastienLehembre0 contributionsA perfect day for the familyWe cannot thanks (merci) enough Captain Eric for the attention and professionalism during our time on the Nomade boat. Everything was great from beginning to end for the adults and kiddos (2 & 7). Captain Eric made long lasting memories for all and we highly recommend anyone in the Branford area to enjoy his services. Just wonderful.Written 19 July 2017
- fcannarella0 contributionsEnjoyable daysailGreat day out on the water to rekindle an interest in sailing. The Nomad is a comfortable yacht with all the Coast Guard safety standards up to date. Captain Eric was accommodating and informativeWritten 18 July 2017
- Ramya S0 contributionsSail Works Sailing Lessons & TripI wanted to gift my husband sailing lessons for Fathers day. I reached out to Eric Treu. Eric was very quick with his reply .We was very approachable and also very flexible. We had to postpone couple of hours based on the days weather (Fog,Rain) and he was very flexible with timing us . (Sailing boat needs right wind). Once we reached his sail boat, I understood his interested in sailing and his depth of knowledge. He is great teacher. My husband is so much interested in sailing. He had zero knowledge and experience.Eric was very patient and taught him basics of sailing. We took our twins with us as well. It was their first sailing and They did great for their first time. To anyone interested in sailing boats or learn about sailing, i am sure i would recommend Eric.Thank you Eric for the great time we had.Written 20 June 2017

Jul 2022 • Friends
We recently chartered a sail through the Thimble Islands with Eric on his beautiful sailboat Nomade to scatter my husband’s ashes on the Sound with our friends and family. Eric made the day truly magical. The event was everything I could have asked for and more. I can’t say enough about the ease of communication coordinating our event with him as well as the entire afternoon. He was so accommodating, made us all feel like family and gave us a wonderful memory - and sail - that will stay with us forever. Nomade was the perfect venue for our event and Eric was the perfect host, whom we all now consider a friend. I am forever grateful.

I emailed Eric with a unique request asking if our group of 2 couples could do an evening sail with dinner on the boat and stay overnight. I fully expected that my idea would be too expensive to make a reality, but Eric responded quickly, and offered a plan to sail to the Thimble Islands, including allowing us to stay alone on his beautiful boat overnight! We moored in a secluded cove at dusk and he guided us through parts of the boat we’d need before riding off in the dinghy to stay with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed Eric’s company but it was very exciting to feel like the boat was ours for a night. It was like a little slice of heaven: eating dinner under the stars listening to music, watching the sun rise, and swimming in the cove in the morning. The whole experience felt serendipitous and we all left wishing for more. Couldn’t recommend sail-works more highly.

We chartered the sailboat as part of a company team building event. Great way to get away from the office and bond with colleagues. Lots of laughs, food, and swimming in the Thimble Islands, as well as a beautiful sunset and attentive Captain and crew. Would definitely recommend to others.

To celebrate my brother's retirement, I treated him and his wife to a day of sailing. Luckily, they asked me to join them! Eric was a gracious host and helpful every step of the way--from arranging the gift certificate to choosing a convenient date. As an inexperienced sailor, I especially appreciated his calm and steady manner and his patience and assistance on board. My brother had a great time talking with the captain about technical matters, and my sister-in-law and I just sat back and enjoyed the beautiful sail into Thimble Islands. Sailing with Captain Treu was really just like sailing with a friend. We are looking forward to the next special event to celebrate at sea!

After wisely postponing our trip due to weather Eric picked a two days we could really enjoy. We sailed out of Stonington CT and were included in every aspect of the sail from docking to raising sails. Except for my sister who just read her book and enjoyed the ride. Eric is an open book of sailing knowledge and willing to share with an easy going humorous personality. Our over night in Sag Harber was spent at a local Pub followed by a tour of the town. While sailing around the Shelter Islands on our trip back we enjoy the scenery and a great lunch. I had never had a Bagget before but now love them. I look forward to my next trip with Eric on a longer get away!

We would like to book 4-5 people for August 1st but we are looking for someone who will just bring our family out and not other people. Our 23 year old son who has autism will be with us. Do you do that or no? If not can you refer me to someone who does? Thank you in advance. August 1st I will be celebrating my 50th birthday and there is not much else to do nowadays with COVID.
Thank you,
Angela
