This is a walking tour of historic downtown Breckenridge, making outdoor stops at many locations, telling stories of our dark past. We will start at the south end of town and make approximately 7 stops on the way, finishing at the north end of town at the old Brown Hotel. We use ghost/spirit hunting equipment in our search for the energy that remains. Please dress warmly for this outdoor tour.

    Amazing Tour!
This tour was one of the highlights from a bachelorette trip! Gail gladly accomodated to our schedules, and all of us were thrilled and captivated by her story telling. The weather was lovely, but a big hot when standing in the sun. Gail took us to stops that had plenty of shade and seating for our group so we wouldn't grow weary!

Gail is clearly an experienced storyteller.
I attended the Strange but True tour with a bachelorette party, and it was easily one of the best highlights. Gail was throughly entertaining, and we all were absorbed in her stories. I ABSOLUTELY recommend her tours.

    Captivating and interesting
Gail was absolutely incredible. My group had such a great time on the Strange but True tour as she captivated us as an audience. She even went above and beyond by opening up this time/day for our group. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour!

    Gail rocks!
Gail was the most incredible tour guide and this Strange But True tour was absolutely perfect for our bachelorette party weekend in Breckenridge! Our group had a marvelous time learning about Breckenridge's history and we were absolutely blown away by Gail's storytelling! Would highly recommend this tour for all those true crime junkies out there.

    Gail was great!!
Gail was really great at delivering the stories. She was very interactive with the tour group, and she knew her stories with being able to answer questions the group had. She was also observant and caring that the sun was quite warm, and allowed the group to stand in the shade, even if we had to walk a couple extra steps to get to it. She was also very personal. Thank you, Gail!

    English Tea Tour
This tour was so much fun and very informative! Gail (tour guide) takes the group through town, pointing out buildings of interest and including stories about the life in Breckenridge in 1910 and history leading up to that time. The tour culminates with tea and scones (delicious) at a quaint bakery/eatery where additional information is shared with the group. If only high school history was this interesting!

    Fun and interesting walking tour
Gail was a great and knowledgeable tour guide. Since it was our first trip to Breckenridge she gave us a brief history lesson about the ski town’s history. Gail was entertaining and funny as she walked us though town and told us interesting stories that occurred in Breckenridge. I definitely recommend this walking tour.

I would have valued a bit more history interwoven into the stories. Several also were anchored in domestic violence.
More dark, than strange. I was not a fan of the domestic violence stories. Would have enjoyed a bit more history, as well as pointing out more buildings.

Strange But True walking tour in Breckenridge, Co.
We signed up for this tour rather last minute. I do have to say- paying with other then PayPal or Venmo was very difficult. I actually emailed the company to make sure our order went through because it wasn't clear and we did not receive an email receipt. Some of us would rather use other forms of payment. At any rate-we met Gail at the appointed place right on time. We walked around downtown Breckenridge and there were plenty of chances to sit down. This was very welcome as my husband has a heart condition and was having trouble adjusting to the altitude. The stories Gail told were very plausible- she is a long time resident and knew some of the people involved in some of the stories. We never once felt the tour was anything but what was advertised and we were very pleased. We highly recommend this tour to those visiting Breckenridge. One of the few activities that did not deal with Breckenridge as a mining town in the 1800's but " the new" Breckenridge as a ski " family friendly" town.

    Don't Miss This Tour!
Gail was wonderful and entertaining! The stories she told had us hooked. I would highly recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your trip, as you get to see much of downtown! My group and I found lots of places we wanted to check out. The included picture is the view from one of the places we stopped.

    Wonderful Storyteller!
Gail was awesome! She toured us through several strange happenings around Breckenridge, and we particularly liked the unsolved mystery of Royal Scoop III, and the story of the woman in black. Very interesting, I’d love to take one of her ghost tours!

70 people for a family reunion and I was in charge of activities. When I came across the ghost tour I was immediately interested. Gail was very easy to work with as we were planning this more than 6 months in advance. We made a small deposit and Gail didn’t even ask for the balance until a week before the event. There were about 25 that signed up. Gail has a microphone and speaker so it was easy to hear her. It was an easy walking tour through the town. Everyone was entertained with her stories both of the ghostly tales and the history of Breckenridge. She took time to answer questions and loaned everyone dowsing rods during the tour. She explained how the dowsing rods work and gave a demonstration how she uses them to sense the presence of another being. The tour was about 90 minutes+. She ended at The Brown Hotel. A fitting place to end the tour as it has many stories. I highly recommend this tour and thought it was very fairly priced.

We really enjoyed the walk and the ghostly tales! Gayle is very knowledgeable and it’s a well put together tour. The divining rods were fun to use. The weather was cold but we were warm enough with the inside stops sprinkled throughout the tour.

Gail was darling and very intuned with the ghostly spirits. She verbalizes and shares the experiences of stories from the beginning of the gold rush. This is an outdoor event. Walking, listening, and looking at the haunted homes. It is cold at night.

This tour was on the tedious side. Our guide was nice enough and informed enough but seemed apathetic about the material she was trying to convey. The dousing rods that were passed out were cheesy and felt like. Reason for the guide to “check out.” Photos were passed around to illustrate examples of paranormal activity in the areas discussed-they should be skipped, they do nothing for the experience. If you are going to tell people to look for the person dressed in black holding a lantern for your meet up maybe don’t make it a bright red plastic Walmart lantern-optics
We made the most of the evening but it’s not a tour I would recommend to friends

I am sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience on the tour. The dowsing rods have been a popular part of our tour for over ten years now and all the photographs used have been taken by guests on our tours. The red lantern is used to demonstrate the significance of the "red light district" during one of our stops.

Gail was fantastic. She was a great story teller, planned many various stops and stories, and we even got props to use to talk to the dead! So cool! :) I loved that she was truly invested in her art and all the locals’ stories of sightings. You could tell she loved her job and researched a lot. Highly recommend if you want to see a different side of Breckenridge. I’ve been on ghost tours in New Orleans and she was hands down the best out of everyone!

What an amazing evening. Our tour guide, Gail, was very knowledgeable and kept the whole group completely engaged. Our tour was close to two hours and we had a wonderful tour on a beautiful evening of places we had not visited on the standard historical tour (also very fun, by the way). The youngest in our group was 6 and she was a bit anxious about what we would see and hear but Gail made sure the tales were appropriate while still being fun and informative.

Honestly not the best tour we've ever done, so if this isn't your thing then I might suggest doing something else. However, if you enjoy ghost tours, definitely give it a go! We usually enjoy the spooky, yet goofy nature of a good ghost tour, typically enjoying the plethora of historical information you can learn about a new city. This one was not the most factual tour, but the sheer enthusiasm of the guide made it more enjoyable, where I might not have liked it otherwise. Definitely a warm-weather activity though- we went in the off-season before the cold really picked up and you would still have entirely frozen extremities by the end of the tour!

I am curious as to when you came on the tour Alex but I definitely warn people that it will be cold since Covid doesnt allow us to go into buildings any longer. Heavy winter clothing is definitely advisable for the tour. I do like to pride myself on the factual side of my tours and sorry that you were unaware of that.

Gail led a wonderful tour that combined Breckenridge history and its "ghostly tales." As a first time visitor to the area, I appreciated hearing about the town's history and some of its colorful characters - many of whom never left.
Gail is an engaging storyteller who is also very knowledgeable about the area. She graciously answered our questions and was a delight to converse with. Highly recommend!

A entertaining and informational tour of Breckenridge with Gail. Each person of our family of 5 loved the tour including our 19, 16, and 11 year olds. Gail is so fun to listen to and painted amazing images of early Breckenridge along with insight to ghostly occurrences. Would highly recommend!
