Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ditinad0 contributionsAmazing private tour of LAWe had an AMAZING private tour of LA with our AWESOME guide Monty! He was very knowledgeable and personable, provided cool facts about each of the sites and entertained us with relevant music throughout the ride. Hands down, this was honestly the BEST tour we have had! Thanks for a very fun day!!Written 3 June 2024

- 774taniab0 contributionsLong day.. xVery long day. Pick up point easy to find with parking next door. good trip and a good way to pack in LA in one day. Minibus was comfy and guide was good albeit spoke so fast couldn’t understand him. There were alot of stops, some of which didnt need the amount of stop time, and some of which needed more. The lunch stop was too short whilst Rodeo Drive was way too long. Got back at 6 - very long day.Written 8 May 2024

George was our tour guide and Harry was our driver and they did a wonderful tour for us! They shared stories and information about the area and the culture and history of the people in the area. Such a great time and learned so much! Will definitely do it again and recommend to anyone I see.Written 16 February 2024
- michaelwW2183CU0 contributionsOutstanding Company and GuideAli, our guide, was knowledgeable, affable, and courteous. When I called to confirm their vehicle was wheelchair accessible, the call taker informed me that none of their vehicles were accessible. She said she'd talk to a supervisor and get back to me. - Road496538755380 contributionsTrip down memory laneI grew up in Whittier but have been gone for over 45 years. Came back for a high school reunion and decided to do a tour of the area as my husband had never visited the area for leisure before. Chose the Day in LA tour as it included so many top spots in LA. The tour guide Joe was a local and was very knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend the tour for those that want to visit as many spots as possible with someone who knows the area so well.Written 23 September 2023

The tour started off at 9h30am, and it wrapped up around 5h30pm (that's the time the tour ended, but we still had the drive back which took a while).
The van was comfortable, air-conditioned, and had cold bottled water available at all times. No meals or snacks were included, as expected.
Our guide, Jeff, was funny and knowledgeable, and kept a steady stream of information and interaction going through the whole tour. He also did a great job informing us of meet-up times and alternatives for each of our stops.
The tour follows the itinerary diligently, and I do believe we hit the highlights for LA in a single day. However, they advertise that you can get a great view of the Hollywood sign from the Griffith Observatory, which is simply not true and was a bit of a disappointment. It is true that you can see the sign (and an absolutely gorgeous view of the city, it was lovely even though on the day of the tour it was quite hazy), but it is very far away. If you're looking to have good pictures with the Hollywood sign, I'd recommend Lake Hollywood Park (no hiking needed) or one of the hiking trails that get you closer to the sign (I did not have time to try any, so I have no recommendations to give).
Another point is that I feel like this isn't the best option for solo travelers, like I was. The tour is on the van, and we drive to these locations and then everyone exits the van, and we are given a time limit to explore the area (the time limits were generous, and I did not feel rushed at all).
The information given by the guide is all done in-vehicle, so we are left to explore mostly on our own, which is fine, but it does make getting pictures a bit harder, as the group doesn't stick together, and the guide does not accompany us into the stops (which makes perfect sense as there is a lot to see on each stop and people want different things). So, if you're expecting to rely on a guide or the group to get pictures/extra information on site, that's not going to happen.
I do recommend the tour, though I wish it had started a bit earlier as the sun set quite early (since it is autumn heading into winter) and I feel like starting an hour earlier would've given us a bit more sunlight.
Once again, if you're hoping for a good picture with the Hollywood sign do not bank on getting one during this tour, make alternative arrangements prior or after to get it if it is important to you.

The sightseeing tour was amazing to us as this was my wife and I 2nd time coming to Los Angeles, and the first time seeing some of the areas we would have never seen. From the Santa Monica Pier to the Farmers Market and Griffin Park. Our tour guide Joe was very knowledgeable and talked throughout the drive, giving us the skinny on various areas of Los Angeles we stopped our either passed by. We also stopped on Rodeo Drive and Sunset Blvd to take in the sights. There was time to shop for about 1.5 hours, and many opportunities to grab a bite to eat and/or take pictures. The price of this tour was worth it, and I would recommend it to any 1st or 2nd time visitors to the area. 7.5 hours of entertainment and fun!

What an unbelievable experience for a first-timer in LA!
Steven T. was our tour guide/driver and he was such an awesome addition to our trip. He was incredibly informative, very charismatic and fun to listen to, very patient and very good at what he does overall!
We were given access to cold bottles of water throughout the trip.
We saw pretty much all the iconic places in LA and some extras, and it took about 8 hours.
We stayed in each location from 30 mins - 1 hour, depending on the location.
I would absolutely recommend this LA tour, it takes the stress of your shoulders (no need to drive around aimlessly in a place you don’t know), it fits a lot of things into one day and frankly the cost is beyond fair for what you get!!

Our day in LA was quite underwhelming. The city is incredibly expensive, and despite the cost, we got very little time at each stop. We spent most of our time stuck in traffic, which left us feeling rushed at every location. Traveling with a baby added to the challenge, as there was minimal support from the tour guide or the other passengers to make things easier. Overall, it was not the best experience, especially given the high cost of the tour and limited enjoyment.

Hey David - We provided your group with a free infant ticket, complimentary stroller and complimentary car seat as requested. Can you please email us at customerservice@adayinla.com so we can understand what other support you were looking from us and from the other passengers on board? LA certainly is known for traffic but we do our best to navigate from it to the extent we can. We also do our best to make sure each stop duration is well advertised.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.

We were a family of 5, three generations, four adults and a 16 year old. We all felt this trip was exceptional! From the initial time of booking the tour operator was in communication with us, emphasizing the meeting place and time. They answered any questions we asked and made us feel comfortable with the booking. The day before they reconfirmed the time and place and emphasized the potential issues with traffic. Bottled water was provided throughout the day which was much appreciated as it was a very hot day.
Our driver was George and he was prompt on the day of the tour. He was well organized, having seats assigned, which eliminated chaos during pick up as the mini bus was completely filled. He was courteous and very engaging telling us what to expect during our day. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and gave us a definite time to return at each stop. He had a great selection of music that he incorporated into his dialogue which helped make the drive more enjoyable. We were impressed by his willingness to provide extra help to a group of folks who spoke limited English and he went above and beyond explaining things to them with his self proclaimed “limited Spanish”.

Before booking and paying for this tour I had checked if it would be possible for the driver to ask anyone on the bus not to eat peanuts products. I was assured this would not be an issue and to mention to the driver on the day so we booked the tour.
The driver (George ) arrived in time and an message was sent the day before confirming the pick up time. We were allocated seats near the back of the bus.
George done all the pick up and I spoke to him to ask if he could ask people if they could avoid bringing peanut products on the above, he said he had no idea what I was saying as he couldnt under stand my accent (the only person on our 14 days in California to say this), I repeated myself several times but he took no notice then advised everyone in the bus to find the donut shop and buy food and eat on the bus, not a good start to the day for us as it put us on edge for the whole of the day.
The tour itself was good but our group together with several others spend most of the stops trying to find public toilets which took up most of the stops it would have been good if he had stopped closer.
We have done a tour of LA before and this was quite similar which was what expected, it would have been good if the stops had been a little longer.
I think we would have enjoyed it more had the driver been more understanding, he spent loads of time speaking to travellers who were from the US but ignored most of the non US visitors for the most.

This tour hits a lot of the iconic sites in and around LA. And obviously, timelines depend upon day of the week and traffic.
Pros:
+ Large comfortable van (not open air bus)
+ Easy to see various beaches and stops
Cons:
- driver/guide did not run A/C until passengers complained (in between every stop!)
- driver/guide’s information was more anecdotal and less historical or factual
- the time a lotted better a few stops was inadequate (again maybe time of day or traffic played into this?)
- driver/guide did not give passengers enough advance notice when coming upon sites or buildings that would be photo worthy
- lastly, this is an 8 hour tour. Driver/guide had people board haphazardly and then asked to keep the seats for the duration. Yet, three families/parties were unable to sit together. It seems unfair for a long day of riding in a (hot) van.

I had an amazing experience on the "A Day in LA" tour!! The locations we visited were fantastic, covering all the main sites of the city. Our tour guide George was excellent, offering insightful commentary and sharing lots of interesting knowledge about LA's history and culture. The tour was very well organised and I loved that I didn't have to worry about traffic or parking-definitely the best way to explore LA without the hassle. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the highlights of the city in a relaxed, informative way!!

The trip was very cool. With the exception of traffic, the city is very beautiful and the view of the Griffith Observatory is a must. We went at the end of the day and saw the sunset, which was sensational. We also visited the studios of Warner Bros., Muscle Beach and Hollywood, which I also liked very much. The downside was that we stayed in Santa Monica, which is a more expensive part of the city and considering the difficulties of traffic locomotion, maybe it would be better to stay closer to the city center.

I recently took the “A Day in LA Full Day Tour,” and it exceeded all expectations! The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, showcasing the best of LA’s landmarks. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to explore iconic attractions while learning about the city’s rich history. The comfortable transportation made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to make the most of their day in Los Angeles!

If i book on a monday does that mean i don’t get to see the Hollywood sign? i don’t care about going inside the observatory but the main reason for doing this tour is i want to go to the lookout and at least be able to see the sign. please let me know

You’re talking about Griffith park, that’s where you see the Hollywood sign in the distance. You will still go there and see it on a Monday, the only thing you can’t do is enter the observatory building it’s closed. You won’t miss not going in. Everything that’s great there is outside
