- meganmC2208XK0 contributionsBestie Bike TourHad a great time with Harris in our 3-hour tour. The route gave us a nice chance to see different neighborhoods. There were plenty of photo ops and Harris ensured we were safe in traffic. The heat was unbearable (104) and I was struggling towards the end of the tour. Harris provided extra water, electrolytes and shade!!Written 10 September 2024

- Angela H0 contributionsBest guided tour I’ve had in LA!I arrived early already greeted by the friendly tour guide Michael! Had a surprising private tour as the only person booking the session for the morning and I absolutely didn’t regret it! Learned a lot of history of the park, the Hollywood sign and even about the city of Los Angeles. The wealth and breadth of knowledge Michael exhibits were astounding. As a bonus, Michael is an exceptional amazing photographer who took unreal and beautiful photo of me in front of the sign :) definitely will recommend this to anyone visiting LA for the first time!Written 2 September 2024

- DisBoiCrispy0 contributionsAin’t No Disco, Ain’t No Country Club. This is LAThe best way to see LA if you are only here for a short time. Our group was small, just myself, two couples, and Harris leading us safely through the streets of LA. Once you arrive, you’ll get two cold waters, a helmet, a yellow vest, and time to test your bike for comfort. The lunch deal is good, so take it! We learned about unique neighborhoods, climbed hills effortlessly on e-bikes, solved a murder mystery, and pointed out places where people got famous. There were a good number of rest stops with clean public bathrooms. Harris’ offered to take pictures for anyone who wanted them. We stopped in Venice for lunch and had fresh wraps and smoothies. The Wee Chips place also had the most delicious French fries. Our group had questions about LA neighborhood lines and city infrastructure that Harris’ answered thoughtfully. There was a good balance of street, bike lane, and trail riding. We finished with cold drinks and a well-earned sense of accomplishment. I’m glad I took the tour instead of biking in LA alone. Maybe next time I visit, I’ll request a private tour of the Ethnic neighborhoods with food stops.Written 1 September 2024

- philippmE5506SM0 contributionsNice hiking Tour with Mark to the Hollywood SignWe booked a tour with Mark to the Hollywood sign with our family. Our group consisted of two adults and two children, aged 10 and 12. Mark is a very friendly and pleasant tour guide and we understood him very well. Even our children, who have only had two years of English lessons at school, were able to follow Mark's stories and explanations well. Mark was able to answer all of the questions we had. The tour was very nice, there was no time pressure and we would book this tour with Mark again at any time. We wish Mark all the best and many more exciting tours.Written 30 August 2024

fantastic route, moderate hike. we could have totally done this trail on our own, but would have been missing out on the experience provided by our terrific guide George.
George turned the hike into a completely immersive experience. He had the unique ability to share facts and history with us that:
a) related to our beautiful surroundings as we continued along the trail
b) incorporated the interests and backgrounds of the members of our tour group
c) got us energized and excited to learn more about LA as we experienced new breathtaking views at every turn.
d) he delivered in a funny, charming and interactive manner
He also took the time to provide us with FANTASTIC photos of me and my 2 friends together. you’d think he’s a professional photographer on the side!! the best photos taken of us as a group on this trip, hands down.
taking this hike with George turned a nice stroll into a memorable, educational, fun experience. we loved it, 10/10 would recommend!!

Wow, thank you, calling it an immersive experience is a perfect way to describe your hike to the Griffith Observatory... especially when you have a great guide like George weaving in the wild history of Griffith Park and giving you epic photos, too! Thanks for the kind words, and please come explore more of LA with us the next time you're in town!

I wanted to be more active and booked this tour. The tour guide Eric M was personable and knowledgable. I was by far the oldest in our group of 19 and he was sure to check in with all participants to make sure they were okay. The front end of the hike (around 35 minutes) was the most difficult but it is indeed doable with the frequent breaks built in to the hike within which Eric shared information about the park and Griffith. Highly recommend if you are looking to get out of the car.

Being active AND seeing wonderous sights AND having someone to help along is always a recipe for not just a great LA sightseeing experience, but a great trip in general. We are glad to know Erick M. was great with not just you, but other guests, though all of our guides try their best to give everyone an unforgettable experience. Keep on keeping on, and maybe you will join us for our full tour of Los Angeles!

Thank you!! I think the owner or manager of this business needs to know that our tour guide, Harris, was the absolute best! He had a great sense of humor and was full of fun facts that we would have never known. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to the LA area and tell them to request Harris. Thank you so much for this great experience!

I loved the experience of completing our first hike with my daughter on her 10th birthday. Yes, it was a hard hike with not being in good physical shape, but it was oh so with it. And only about the first hour was elevated and hard then it actually leveled out some. We took the sunset hike with HARRIS and he was an amazing tour guide who was very informative about the park and the areas that we saw from the mountain.
Be prepared with water, good shoes, and probably sunscreen if you’re going on the morning hike.

Had a great time on the sunset hike! Our guide George was extremely knowledgeable about LA. At stops along the 2.5 hour hike, we learned about the history of LA, current event, unique facts about the city and showbiz. The hike itself wasn’t bad at all, and the views were incredible. Great organized hike, fantastic guide!

Erik was very informed/knowledgeable about the area. Most importantly he was really patient . I struggled to climb the hills during the hike, he made sure I took my pace and caught up with everyone. He also gave multiple breaks based on the energy level of the group. I will highly recommend.

Our day started off stressful because our map took us to the wrong place. But when we finally arrived we were greeted by our guide, Erick Martinez, who completely turned our day around! The tour was awesome! He was so friendly and knowledgeable and engaging. As a Southern California local, I can't believe how much I didn't know about the Hollywood area. The hike started with a moderalty steep incline- not too tough but a nice little challenge. We periodically stopped along the way to look at particular sites or buildings and learn some interesting history on them and ended up at the top with an awesome view of LA. We are now looking into booking the biking tour with Erick because we had so much fun and want to come back. Thank you, Erick!

Matt was a really great guide. He judged the group well and paced so that everyone stayed together whilst ensuring that we kept to time and had proper rest breaks.
I loved this tour. Through the park and at each rest break Matt pointed out various bits of the city, and offered interesting snippets of history and information.
Well worth doing especially if new to LA - it gives a bit of colour to your planning for things to go.

This hike is one of my favorites! It isn’t too hard and is a great way to view the city from a “wildlife” perspective. Another plus was my AWESOME tour guide, Harris. He was extremely knowledgeable and included creative stories to help understand various parts of LA. Definitely recommend all around!!

A morning hike through the hills was the perfect start to my third vacation day in Los Angeles. The previous two days were very windy but the weather was just right on this day. Our leader Sarah was friendly, funny ( a stand up comic), and highly informative about the history of Griffith Park, Hollywood, and the city in general. I especially appreciated her restaurant (I went to lunch at El Coyote after we finished!) and "hidden bar" recommendations not to mention all of the photos she was willing to assist us with upon request. Well worth the money plus a great calorie burn without being grueling. Do it!

How long is the hike? I see a lot of Itineraries with durations as long as 3 hours. So I'm not sure if this is a whole day hike or if it's only for 2 hours?
Written 15 October 2021
It will be a little over 2 hours. I started at 10am and remember it going to around 12:30pm.

Hi there
I've booked a hike with you which I would now like to cancel due to our travel plans changing. However, I don't have a confirmation email for the booking with a "cancel"option and there's nothing under my bookings on Trip Advisor. BUT my Paypal account has been debited $64 for the tour?? Why isn't it showing up in my bookings so I can cancel it? Please can you check the status of this booking and inform me how to get a refund. I'm in Australia so can't call your support line.

Does this tour always end at the Observatory? The itinerary suggests that it is the first stop. If it is the first stop, how long do you spend there?
Written 19 January 2020
Our tour ended at the Observatory. We met our group at the Greek Theater box office. We didn’t go inside the Observatory at the end. But I would imagine you could spend as much time there as you wanted (I time closing).

We booked thru “Hollywood Hills Hike” and they gave us a location to meet them at. It was easy to find with our GPS, but it would have been impossible without.
Go to their page here on TripAdvisor and book your tour, but wear comfortable shoes. It’s beautiful up there but it’s a long walk and a steep trail at times.
I highly recommend it, it was the high point of a great trip.
Written 10 November 2019
We met for 9:30 and we’re heading off on the walk by the 10am. The walk finished around 1pm but this could change depending on how long you wanted to stay at the Observatory.

I’m planning a trip late August 2020 is the weather good than ?
How fit do you need to be ?
How much walking ?
How much bike riding?
Written 13 October 2019
This particular hike just involved walking, and no bikes.
If you’re happy climbing lots and lots of stairs you will be fine.
It’s great, sure your family will enjoy x

I am from Australia and will be in US in Oct, thinking to use Uber to get around different places. Does Uber there has to link to a US bank account? Wouldn't it be expensive if I have overseas account link with Uber (exchange rate fee)?
Written 1 September 2019
Hi
I am not sure how that works. I rented a car which I regret. Driving in LA is crazy. Aggressive drivers out there. I assume the banks would do the exchange .... Uber is quite reasonable out there as we used it once. I would ask your bank if they do the exchange once you are charged for the Uber

I would be staying in a hotel next to Disneyland, Anaheim. I don't drive. How can I get transportation to and from the meeting point from Anaheim? Is Uber easy, or are there other options? How much time by car?
Written 15 July 2019
And yes Uber/Lyft is very easy. How much time depends on the time of day since it might take more time when people go to work and leave work.
