        Perfect Trip to Heavenly Bhutan
We had an amazing 8 nights in Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn. Everything was perfect. Bhutan is simply unforgettable. Bhutan Acorn attended to our needs thoughtfully and responded super swiftly to our enquiries and requests. Every booking and confirmation were made at ease. Karma from Bhutan Acorn brought us a gorgeous pair of Gho and Kira and we were so glad and wore them for the entire trip. Knowing that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Karma amazingly arranged a tasty cake and a bottle of Bhutanese wine during our stay in Thimphu. Our guide and driver, Tashi and Sonam, made a perfect quartet with us. Tashi is super fun, knowledgeable and attends to our change of plans swiftly and thoughtfully. Sonam is a reliable driver. We asked loads of questions in understanding Buddhism, Bhutan and the secret of their Gross National Happiness. We were mind-blown by the beauty of Bhutan, not just by the clean air, pristine scenery and gorgeous, exquisitely decorated and historic temples and dzongs, but most importantly, the beautiful and genuine people in Bhutan. We love everything in Bhutan. Thanks Bhutan Acorn!

        Bhutan Acorn T&T is fantastic
We just completed an 8 day tour of western Bhutan, with a 3 day trek to the Sagala Pass and Chelela Pass. Bhutan is a beautiful country and exceeded all my expectations. Bhutan Acorn T&T were fantastic! In the planning stage they were very responsive and understanding of our several requests for change to the itinerary. They were very organised and efficient in arranging the visas, government fees and flights to Bhutan. Our guide (Norbu) and driver (Thinley) were also fantastic and went above and beyond in looking after us. They were both very kind and helpful and their knowledge of Bhutanese history, Buddhist practice and local flora and fauna were exceptional. I would not hesitate in using Bhutan Acorn T&T again.

        Amazing tour!
I had an amazing week in Bhutan and I cannot recommend a tour with Bhutan Acorn highly enough! My tour in Bhutan was incredible: seeing the unique landscapes in person, learning about Buddhism at the many temples and monasteries we visited, and most of all, the dedication and attentiveness of both my guide, Kezang, and driver, Tashi, throughout the whole tour. From the get-go, I had a very positive experience interacting with Bhutan Acorn online. When I first enquired about a tour towards the end of 2023, I was told that the government had reduced the Sustainable Development Fee, which I had not known; Bhutan Acorn were transparent and ensured I would not have to pay any more than needed. Furthermore, as I made the booking through their website, I paid for the tour through a bank transfer, and I ended up accidentally paying slightly over the price of the tour. Bhutan Acorn notified me of the overpayment and after my arrival in the country, promptly repaid me. I was very lucky to have Kezang, to guide me, and Tashi, to transport us, around Bhutan. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and accounted for throughout the whole week. Kezang and Tashi were very patient with answering my questions and took many photos of me. Kezang also communicated what we were doing very clearly each day and I literally and figuratively was able to take a back seat. Both Kezang and Tashi really went beyond ensuring that I was more than comfortable, from accommodating to my preferences for our itinerary, and offering to carry my belongings for me. The trip was full of unforgettable highlights. The homestay with Aum Leki in Punakha was very special to experience the way of living of a Bhutanese person. After our hike in Phobjikha Valley, as we had extra time, Kezang took me to the Black Neck Crane Information Centre, which was not part of the itinerary. From there, I was lucky enough to see the last three cranes that had not yet flown back to Tibet for the year! I attended the Annual Paro Tshechu Festival wearing a kira and saw traditional dances. And of course, the hike to Tiger’s Nest was very rewarding. While I was initially concerned that the itinerary would be packed, it definitely did not feel that way for me in reality; I always had time to unwind and did not feel too tired at the end of each day. To all travellers thinking of going to Bhutan: it truly is a unique country that is definitely worth visiting! I miss Bhutan and will settle with telling everyone at every opportunity I can to travel there, especially with Bhutan Acorn. Thank you for a wonderful trip and for these amazing memories that will last a lifetime.

Amazing experience, well organised tour, fantastic guide
Talking to other travellers during our stay in Bhutan, we realised that we had been very lucky with our agency. The tour itself was well organised, the communication beforehand was excellent, fast and helpful. We also had an amazing guide, Norbu, who made our trip magical and very special. With his incredible knowledge of the country's history, recent developments, Buddhism, flora, fauna and so much more, we couldn't have asked for more. Coupled with his openness and humour, we enjoyed every single moment. It was quite impressive to see his professionalism despite his young age. In addition, we so much enjoyed observing his interaction with local people, especially kids. If you plan to book this tour - ask for Norbu as your guide.

        An unforgettable trip
I enjoyed the trip a lot. My guide Tshering Dema and driver Nidup Wangchuk were really friendly and inspiring. I learned a lot from them, not only the culture of Bhutan but also about life. They were knowledgeable and were there for me to ensure that I was comfortable throughout the trip. Not to mention about the breathtaking views in Bhutan and the lovely people I met there. Bhutanese are warm and friendly and I love to meet people from all walks of life. I wouldn't have such a great experience without my lovely guide and driver and I'm glad I've chose Bhutan Acorn Tours. Thank you!

        Go Acorn: you'll love it!
What an incredible tour of an even more incredible country. Peaceful, restful, relaxing, beautiful are just some of the qualities of both. The history and culture are equally amazing. It is hard to write a review of this experience without sounding like an exaggeration. Bhutan is truly worth the time and effort to visit, and Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel is an exceptional agency with which to experience it. Accommodations were first rate. The people of the country are unbelievably friendly and accommodating. From the beginning to the end of my initial contact with Acorn I felt the commitment to ensure my every concern was accommodated. Mr. Karma quickly and efficiently secured my visa, flight reservations and travel arrangements with ease and consideration for my individual circumstances. It is hard to put into words the comfort I felt dealing with him. Reliability is only one of them. On the ground, Mr. Norbu, my guide, and Mr. Nidup, my driver, ensured that I experienced and understood all that I saw. Patience and desire to ensure my trip was enjoyable, educational, and inspiring were clearly their primary goals. Mr. Norbu never tired of my questions even when asked over and over. It was like traveling with two knowledgeable friends. When was the last time you sat watching an archery competition (Bhutan archery is unique) or played a few games of snooker with your driver and guide? I cannot recommend this tour more strongly.

        Magical!
I embarked on a remarkable journey to Bhutan together with my sister in January 2024, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the seamless online booking process to our departure from Paro, every moment was enchanting. Our pre-travel communication with Mr. Karma from Bhutan Acorn was exceptionally smooth. His timely and detailed responses ensured we were well-prepared for the travel, and the efficient handling of the visa procedure by the agency allowed us to obtain the necessary permits promptly – within just four working days. Our joy was further amplified by the presence of two outstanding Bhutanese guides, Tashi and Mr. Bumpa. They not only accommodated our last-minute preferences but also prioritized our safety and comfort throughout the journey. During hikes, they adjusted to our pace and made the challenging ascent to the Tiger's Nest enjoyable. Their insightful narratives on Bhutan's history and culture, coupled with their open-mindedness, great sense of humor and friendliness, made us feel like part of the family after just one week together. I will miss them enormously! Bhutan, with its captivating isolation and authenticity, left a lasting impression. The people are intelligent and welcoming. For those choosing Acorn, I highly recommend opting for a homestay at Leki's in the Punakha Valley. This unique experience provided glimpses into the daily life of Bhutanese people, delightful home-cooked meals, and serene moments around the fire with the locals. The breathtaking view from the house ensured the most restful and profound sleep I've ever experienced.

        Overall Excellent Experience!
Solo female traveler here (American). Visited for an 8 day tour and loved it - felt very safe. My guide, Tschering, was amazing and well-informed, and she accommodated for several personal requests throughout my tour. My driver Dorji was also very nice and a safe driver. Favorite part was the wonderful homestay with Aum Leki in Punakha - the area is absolutely beautiful! Even saw some black-necked cranes in the Phobjikha Valley. The hotels and service were excellent overall. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reasonably priced travel group in Bhutan. One thing that I might change would be to include the entry fees for the sites in the cost of the overall tour. It only added around $70 USD extra, but it was more including ATM fees etc. If you take this tour, be sure to hit ATMs in Thimpu to have enough cash for the trip!

Fully experiencing Bhutan in a short time
I spent 5 wonderful days in Bhutan thanks to Bhutan Acorn Tours. Already before the travel they were super helpful - they took care of every detail of my visa, helped me to change my flight ticket and gave me useful tips to prepare my travel. They even recommended me where to sit in the plan for te best views on the Himalaya. :) I was warmly welcomed by Lhamo, my guide at the airport and she took absolutely best care of me all the time. She is young, dynamic, and treated the itinerary with absolute flexibility, easily adjusting to my requests or interests. She didnt hesitate to jump with me on a rafting boat, lend me her beautiful traditional dress for a photo, or dance with me in a karaoke bar. While she was fully knowledgable, and I learnt so much about this fascinating country and its culture, she also brought me close to the people, I hiked and ate with her local friends, many of them who are buddhist monks, and learnt incredibly much about, and experienced first-handly, buddhism. These holidays, while they were short, they couldnt have been fuller in terms of the experiences, the knowledge I gained and the fun we had. A big shoutout to Karma, the organiser, who also proved to be very reliable and caring all the time. I cannot recommend this agency enough and I am already thinking when to come back next.

Karma from Bhutan Acorn is a great tour coordinator
We were planning our trip for a long time as initially we had booked to go in 2020 -- Karma was amazingly helpful and always answered our questions quickly and thoroughly. He also helped us get our initial airline ticket refund from Bhutan Airlines. On the ground the experience was great. Tashi, our guide, and Sonam and Kado, our drivers for different parts of the trip, were all wonderful. We feel like we got to see the real Bhutan and can't wait to come back again someday.

        A Unique Experience
This was a brief but wonderful trip into a unique country. I travelled with my 40-year old son and although we had not booked a private trip, there were only the two of us on it. We covered a huge amount of ground in the five days and, if the highlight was the trek up to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, everything we did was interesting. We especially like the stay in the remote farmstead. Our guide Tashie was superb - a mine of information and very helpful in all ways. The hotels were clean and comfortable, if fairly basic as regards facilities. I would absolutely commend this trip for someone with limited time, but who wanted a very good introduction to this extraordinary country and culture

From first contact I was impressed with the caring approach and timliness shown by Karma in setting this up and designing an itineary to suit my interests. The reverence for this devoted country and its amazing architecture leave a lasting impression. Norbu and Nibu were determined to get me to Tiger's Nest on that last rainy day! If you ever have the opportunity to visit Bhutan, do not hesitate to go. Bhutan is a fascinating and visually stunning country, filled with friendly and welcoming people that personalize its history and culture. My family and I were fortunate to have been able to begin our exploration of Bhutan just days after the country re-opened its tourism industry. As wonderful as our guide and driver and trekking and sightseeing experiences were during our 6 days of exploring the highlights of Bhutan, equally wonderful was our experience with the tour company that had made it all possible, Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel. In all our many years of travel , we had never found a tour company so responsive, so engaged, so dedicated, and so determined to make this tour possible. Over a period of time spanning almost one year, through all the stops and starts and changes that were happening leading up to the re-opening of Bhutan, the owner, Mr. Karma Sangay Phuntsho , successfully navigated us through it all and kept us continually informed. We are forever indebted to him and his tireless efforts to ensure that our family would always share the wonderful memories and highlights of an unforgettable journey through Bhutan.

I visited Bhutan with my family in early October and from start to finish were under excellent care. Our guide Tashi was knowledgeable and accommodating, working with us each day to ensure we could see as much as possible while also making time for the little stops as well. Recognizing early on our interest in the local wildlife, on the many hikes he led us on he would be sure to point out and help us identify different species of birds that we saw. Tashi also was knowledgeable on the many temples we visited, where the locals will make you feel right at home as you visit these amazing structures even in the middle of rituals.

While the entire trip was a highlight, the hike to Tiger’s Nest stands out as a truly incredible experience and what we’ll remember most. Be sure to also try much of the local food as well and embrace the use of chilis in much of the cuisine!

incredible sights, very knowledgeable, competent, and charming tour guide, expert and careful driver, well-appointed accommodations, perfect itinerary! i have nothing more to wish for, I have achieved the top item on my bucket list. Lhamo and Kencho helped make it a reality.

Bhutan is a beautiful place but my itinerary favorites are the easy hike across Probjikha Valley and (of course) the not-so-easy hike to Paro Taktsang. Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel made my dreams come true!

The trip was fabulous, dream come true! The country is very beautiful and breath-taking and it was very well organized. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable about the culture and history with captivating stories. We were lucky that the weather was good. The Bhutanese people are very friendly and chatty all around. I recommend Bhutan as your next travel destination! Thank you, Bhutan Acorn, for making our trip unforgettable!

We definitely made the right choice when we decided to book our tour with Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel. This Bhutan trip has been in my friend's bucket list for sometime so we wanted to have memorable and iconic moments in this trip. And we did!

We took the cultural and nature tour where we visited a couple of monasteries, the Phobjikha Valley and , of course, the famous Tiger's Nest. For me one of the best moments of the trip was wearing the traditional Bhutanese clothes. It made the experience more authentic.

During our trip, our guide and driver were very friendly and very accommodating with our requests. My friends and I are not good with spicy food so our guide made sure that our food were not that spicy. Our guide was well-informed about the places we visited and the stories she shared especially about the divine mad man intrigued me and convinced me to buy a book about him. On the walls of one of the monasteries that we visited were paintings depicting the life of Buddha and our guide explained it to us effortlessly. My knowledge of Buddhism definitely improved. Phobjikha Valley is stunning with pine trees, mountains, green grass all over the place. Very peaceful. In our last day, we hiked to Tiger's Nest. It is not an easy hike. We saw other tourists wearing flip flops or sandals and they were having difficulty hiking. So make sure to wear proper footwear.

Food was okay. Accommodation was very good. We had a fireplace inside our room in Phobjikha Valley so that was pretty nice.

Overall, we definitely had an amazing time in Bhutan. Kudos to our always smiling guide, Lhamo :)

      Highly recommended.

      Cheers,
      Ivy I.

Explored Bhutan on a delightful 6-day tour with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel in October 2023. Bhutan, an enchanting and tranquil country, feels like a world of its own, surrounded by a profound spiritual ambiance. The warm locals contribute to its inviting atmosphere. The pre-trip communication was seamless, swiftly arranging flights and visas. Received valuable pre-departure tips, such as securing a window seat for a Himalayan view during the flight. In Bhutan, my guide Tshiring and driver Tashi were well-informed, adjusting the itinerary based on my interests and energy levels, making the journey enjoyable and effortless. Bhutan Acorn's accommodations were cozy, including a night in a farmhouse for an immersive cultural experience. Highly recommend embarking on an authentic Bhutanese journey with them, going beyond typical tours.

This was an excellent tour in everyway. Truly the trip of a lifetime. Most notably, in my case, I contacted Bhutan Acorn on a wednesday and they had a full tour booked and arranged for me for arrival on Saturday. My plans were completely last minute, as I was in Bangladesh prior.

After booking, I didn't have to plan a single thing. I was met at the airport, and all accommodations and meals were taken care of. The private mini-suv was new, clean, and reliable. Accommodations were top notch and all the buffet meals were very tasty!

Mr Tashi is an excellent and knowledgeable guide, who passionately shared the rich history of the sites we visited. He even made it a point to snap several photos from our trip. He had answers to all my questions. and, he's just an all around cool guy to spend the day with!
