You will explore the essence of this magical Kingdom with a private expert guide and discover happiness amidst stunning landscapes and majestic eastern Himalayan Mountain ranges and pristine natural environment that made Bhutan the only carbon-negative country in the world.
Hidden by the staggering mountains of the Himalayas, Bhutan chose to remain in self-imposed isolation until it opened its door to the outside world in the 1960s and to this day, it still remains largely untouched by the worldly influence and holds strongly on to its age-old traditions.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BackPacker2765250 contributionsWonderful Tour! The tour gives a very complete idea of Bhutan’s amazing landscape (lovely hikes), stunning culture (incredible temples) and wonderful people. We will cherish the memory of this journey , both our guide, Yeshi and our driver Zayeapa have been “treasure revealers”: We have discovered this beautiful country and it’s gentle, warm, welcoming people thanks to them. We could not have dreamt of better ambassadors than them to introduce us to Bhutan’s amazing culture. They went out of their way to organize it perfectly, always seemingly effortlessly, but with great professionalism, interesting information, friendliness, conversations and smiles all along the way. They really earned a place in our hearts.Written 20 October 2024
- OnAir8263210 contributionsWonderful BhutanBhutan is a magical place ad we were very lucky to experience it on the Jomolhari Loop trek with Bhutan Acorn Tours. The trek itself is somewhat demanding so a good degree of fitness is recommended and we were somewhat unfortunate that the weather was not ideal for a few of the trekking days but that being siad the level of service given by Bhutan Acorn was excellent and this lead to us having a wonderful time. The guide Norbo, was excellent and Karma (the company owner) came along on the trek with us, which no doubt put pressure on the guides and help to ensure that everything went well. I was particularly surprised at the quality of the food we were provided with considering that it was always prepared in a 'field kitchen'. The excellent service continued once the trek was over and we spent a few days in both Paro and Thimphu. I could not recommend this tour company enough - if you are fortunate enough to be considering a trip to Bhutan use this company and be prepared to be completely amazed by the country and its people.Written 14 October 2024
- Matthew S0 contributionsExtraordinary week in BhutanThis trip to Bhutan is one of the highlights of my 2024 round-the-world trip. This tour included all of the key attractions in Bhutan that you’d want to see, plus some days in more remote areas such as the Phobjika valley which were stunning. My guide Pema and Driver Dema were exceptional. They were charming, knowledgeable, and truly made this experience feel like a home away from home. I can’t say enough good things about the experience I had and would highly recommend choosing Bhutan Acorn when planning your visit to Bhutan. I’ll be back again one day!Written 8 October 2024
- S5950MVcolinh0 contributions6 days of a life changing outlook of a place existing out of a dreamI cannot recommend this trip enough. It is for active hikers, but it is worth every step you take. If you get a chance, please request Tashi, he is one of the best guides out there. So happy and knowledgeable he really made us feel welcome. He taught us all about bhutan and buddism and how special this place really is. I cannot recommend this trip enough. It is worth every penny!Written 23 August 2024

- Mirella S0 contributionsThe Happiest Trip Of My Life!It is the happiest country I have ever been to. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and in awe throughout the trip! The daily schedule was designed in such a way that it offered cultural visits, beautiful treks, and free time! Tashi, my guide, was just outstanding. His enthusiasm for Bhutanese culture and his desire to bring the gorgeousness and history of the country in front was extraordinary. He made each site visit enriching and engaging with his knowledge and enthusiasm :) He also cared for me to ensure that I was always comfortable and having fun, providing me with all my questions answered. Nidup, my driver, was also very good; I could not have asked for a better driver than him. Besides my comfort, he was also very careful while driving, making me feel safe. Furthermore, his friendliness was an extra plus that put a lot of creativity into the journey. All my hotels were comfortable and luxurious and made me feel quite homely. All the places that I came across were as charming as the others. The meals always tasted great, with a blend of Bhutanese dishes and continental! The most memorable part of the tour was the walk to Taktsang Monastery. The scenic views were incredible and left me speechless! I recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Bhutan! I am already looking forward to returning as soon as possible!!!!Written 9 July 2024
- Sightseer594345554930 contributions20 days from East to West through BhutanWhat an incredible experience ! This year I realised my more than 30 years old dream, which was to visit Bhutan once in my life, and I must say that thanks to Acorn Tours and Travel, and Karma’s perfect organisation, my dream was more than fulfilled. According to our wishes and with quick responsiveness, Karma organised for my friend and me a tailor-made 20 days tour through the country from East to West, with entry by road into the country from the Jaigaon (India) border. It included a 2 days stay with the Brokpas people in Merak, a stay in Ura to take part to the Ura Yakchoe Festival, with its colourful and spectacular dances, a 2 days excursion to the beautiful off the beaten tracks Haa valley with impressing view of the Himalayan snow covered summits viewed in the far north from the Chelela pass. Lodging choice was a good balance between typical bhutanese homestays/farmstays and conventional hotels of good level, mainly with lovely character. Food was good and abundant, a special mention to the tasty food in the homestays/farmstays where we appreciated the « not too low spiced and occidental tourists adapted » food ! Thank you to Norbu our wonderful, interesting, helpful and lovely guide, giving me a hand whenever the path was too steep or slippery, and very generous with all kind of informations regarding culture, religion, bird- and wildlife, and a pro-photographer on top. Thank you to Nidrup for your good and safe driving, your kind help and great sense of humour. Congratulations Bhutan Acorn T and T, we can only recommend you ! JC + DWritten 18 June 2024
- 262jons0 contributionsFantastic time, great guide and driver. Highly Recommended!I spent 6 days with Acorn in Bhutan, and I highly recommend them. Everything was incredible: driver, guide, company responsiveness, flexibility, itinerary. We arrived at the Tiger's Nest before anyone else and had the place to ourselves. And restaurants and hotels were all great.Written 7 June 2024
- ChristchurchStewarts0 contributionsAwesome and Amazing BhutanOur Amazing Bhutan from East to West (16Days) adventure was a trip of a lifetime. From the start with scenery and staying with Brokpas people in the east to our visit to Paro Taktsang Monastery in the west and each day in between, was one of new discovery . Our guide Norbu Gyeltshen and driver were attentive and fun. Like everyone in Bhutan they were always friendly, and we learnt so much about the Bhutanese people, Buddhism and their loyalty to their King . We are so grateful and appreciative of our opportunity to share in this little gem of a country.Written 21 May 2024
- 670judet0 contributionsThe most amazing trip I have ever experiencedWe couldn't have hoped for a better Bhutan experience! - W_From_HK0 contributionsPerfect Trip to Heavenly BhutanWe had an amazing 8 nights in Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn. Everything was perfect. Bhutan is simply unforgettable. Bhutan Acorn attended to our needs thoughtfully and responded super swiftly to our enquiries and requests. Every booking and confirmation were made at ease. Karma from Bhutan Acorn brought us a gorgeous pair of Gho and Kira and we were so glad and wore them for the entire trip. Knowing that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Karma amazingly arranged a tasty cake and a bottle of Bhutanese wine during our stay in Thimphu. Our guide and driver, Tashi and Sonam, made a perfect quartet with us. Tashi is super fun, knowledgeable and attends to our change of plans swiftly and thoughtfully. Sonam is a reliable driver. We asked loads of questions in understanding Buddhism, Bhutan and the secret of their Gross National Happiness. We were mind-blown by the beauty of Bhutan, not just by the clean air, pristine scenery and gorgeous, exquisitely decorated and historic temples and dzongs, but most importantly, the beautiful and genuine people in Bhutan. We love everything in Bhutan. Thanks Bhutan Acorn!Written 7 April 2024
- Global4869410 contributionsBhutan Acorn T&T is fantasticWe just completed an 8 day tour of western Bhutan, with a 3 day trek to the Sagala Pass and Chelela Pass. Bhutan is a beautiful country and exceeded all my expectations. Bhutan Acorn T&T were fantastic! In the planning stage they were very responsive and understanding of our several requests for change to the itinerary. They were very organised and efficient in arranging the visas, government fees and flights to Bhutan. Our guide (Norbu) and driver (Thinley) were also fantastic and went above and beyond in looking after us. They were both very kind and helpful and their knowledge of Bhutanese history, Buddhist practice and local flora and fauna were exceptional. I would not hesitate in using Bhutan Acorn T&T again.Written 2 April 2024

Absolutely wonderful trip. We experienced Bhutan culture, landscapes, monasteries. The hike up to Tigers Nest was a thrilling experience. The accommodations were wonderful. We had a homestay with a family and sampled rice wine and butter tea. The Bhutanese people were very friendly. We liked the personal attention we received with Acorn Tours both prior (I had many questions) and during the tour. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful valley where the black necked cranes came to winter and we watched horses and yaks. We are an older couple (mid 70's) and our guides took great care of us. Every day was special.

I have just finished my tour Essence of Bhutan. We followed the program and everything went smoothly without any problem. The guide and the driver were well prepared, very kind and helpful (I was surprised I could do all the hikes without a backpack because the guide was keeping my stuff in his one). The hotels were good (although all of them could do a better job in room maintenance) and food was abundant (and my guide took care of no coriander for me). My favourite places are Tiger's Nest, Lungchutse and Punakha Dzong
