        Magical!
I embarked on a remarkable journey to Bhutan together with my sister in January 2024, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the seamless online booking process to our departure from Paro, every moment was enchanting. Our pre-travel communication with Mr. Karma from Bhutan Acorn was exceptionally smooth. His timely and detailed responses ensured we were well-prepared for the travel, and the efficient handling of the visa procedure by the agency allowed us to obtain the necessary permits promptly – within just four working days. Our joy was further amplified by the presence of two outstanding Bhutanese guides, Tashi and Mr. Bumpa. They not only accommodated our last-minute preferences but also prioritized our safety and comfort throughout the journey. During hikes, they adjusted to our pace and made the challenging ascent to the Tiger's Nest enjoyable. Their insightful narratives on Bhutan's history and culture, coupled with their open-mindedness, great sense of humor and friendliness, made us feel like part of the family after just one week together. I will miss them enormously! Bhutan, with its captivating isolation and authenticity, left a lasting impression. The people are intelligent and welcoming. For those choosing Acorn, I highly recommend opting for a homestay at Leki's in the Punakha Valley. This unique experience provided glimpses into the daily life of Bhutanese people, delightful home-cooked meals, and serene moments around the fire with the locals. The breathtaking view from the house ensured the most restful and profound sleep I've ever experienced.

        Overall Excellent Experience!
Solo female traveler here (American). Visited for an 8 day tour and loved it - felt very safe. My guide, Tschering, was amazing and well-informed, and she accommodated for several personal requests throughout my tour. My driver Dorji was also very nice and a safe driver. Favorite part was the wonderful homestay with Aum Leki in Punakha - the area is absolutely beautiful! Even saw some black-necked cranes in the Phobjikha Valley. The hotels and service were excellent overall. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reasonably priced travel group in Bhutan. One thing that I might change would be to include the entry fees for the sites in the cost of the overall tour. It only added around $70 USD extra, but it was more including ATM fees etc. If you take this tour, be sure to hit ATMs in Thimpu to have enough cash for the trip!

Fully experiencing Bhutan in a short time
I spent 5 wonderful days in Bhutan thanks to Bhutan Acorn Tours. Already before the travel they were super helpful - they took care of every detail of my visa, helped me to change my flight ticket and gave me useful tips to prepare my travel. They even recommended me where to sit in the plan for te best views on the Himalaya. :) I was warmly welcomed by Lhamo, my guide at the airport and she took absolutely best care of me all the time. She is young, dynamic, and treated the itinerary with absolute flexibility, easily adjusting to my requests or interests. She didnt hesitate to jump with me on a rafting boat, lend me her beautiful traditional dress for a photo, or dance with me in a karaoke bar. While she was fully knowledgable, and I learnt so much about this fascinating country and its culture, she also brought me close to the people, I hiked and ate with her local friends, many of them who are buddhist monks, and learnt incredibly much about, and experienced first-handly, buddhism. These holidays, while they were short, they couldnt have been fuller in terms of the experiences, the knowledge I gained and the fun we had. A big shoutout to Karma, the organiser, who also proved to be very reliable and caring all the time. I cannot recommend this agency enough and I am already thinking when to come back next.

Explored Bhutan on a delightful 6-day tour with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel in October 2023. Bhutan, an enchanting and tranquil country, feels like a world of its own, surrounded by a profound spiritual ambiance. The warm locals contribute to its inviting atmosphere. The pre-trip communication was seamless, swiftly arranging flights and visas. Received valuable pre-departure tips, such as securing a window seat for a Himalayan view during the flight. In Bhutan, my guide Tshiring and driver Tashi were well-informed, adjusting the itinerary based on my interests and energy levels, making the journey enjoyable and effortless. Bhutan Acorn's accommodations were cozy, including a night in a farmhouse for an immersive cultural experience. Highly recommend embarking on an authentic Bhutanese journey with them, going beyond typical tours.

Karma from Bhutan Acorn is a great tour coordinator
We were planning our trip for a long time as initially we had booked to go in 2020 -- Karma was amazingly helpful and always answered our questions quickly and thoroughly. He also helped us get our initial airline ticket refund from Bhutan Airlines. On the ground the experience was great. Tashi, our guide, and Sonam and Kado, our drivers for different parts of the trip, were all wonderful. We feel like we got to see the real Bhutan and can't wait to come back again someday.

        A Unique Experience
This was a brief but wonderful trip into a unique country. I travelled with my 40-year old son and although we had not booked a private trip, there were only the two of us on it. We covered a huge amount of ground in the five days and, if the highlight was the trek up to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, everything we did was interesting. We especially like the stay in the remote farmstead. Our guide Tashie was superb - a mine of information and very helpful in all ways. The hotels were clean and comfortable, if fairly basic as regards facilities. I would absolutely commend this trip for someone with limited time, but who wanted a very good introduction to this extraordinary country and culture

From first contact I was impressed with the caring approach and timliness shown by Karma in setting this up and designing an itineary to suit my interests. The reverence for this devoted country and its amazing architecture leave a lasting impression. Norbu and Nibu were determined to get me to Tiger's Nest on that last rainy day! All women team!
Karma and my guide Jorden Llamo created a very special, customized trip for me as a solo traveler. From the first contact, the team was attentive, warm and professional. I was in Bhutan for 18 days starting with an 8 day trek. Jorden was with me for the entire trip as she is both a trekking and a cultural guide. The Jomolhari trek was fantastic with beautiful Himalayan mountain views. I then toured the country east to Bumthang through the Chumey valley. The trip was exceptional! We had a phenomenal and highly skilled female driver Domo. Our all female team laughed a lot and garnered attention wherever we went. We were able to be flexible depending on weather, energy level, etc. It was a trip of a life time. I highly recommend Acorn Travel and would use there services again without hesitation.

Bhutan, a landlocked gem nestled in the Eastern Himalayas, has always been a destination shrouded in mystique, known for its pristine landscapes and rich cultural heritage. My recent journey to this enchanting kingdom was an experience that transcended my wildest expectations, all thanks to Acorn Tours. From their impeccable communication to their flexibility in planning the trip, every aspect of the journey was meticulously orchestrated. One of the standout features of Acorn Tours was their excellent communication. Right from the initial inquiry, they were prompt in responding to our questions and concerns. Flexibility is often a key factor in any successful trip, and Acorn Tours excelled in this regard. They tailored our itinerary to match our interests and preferences, accommodating last-minute changes with ease. This flexibility allowed us to make the most of every moment, ensuring that our journey was personalized and memorable. Our journey was led by the remarkable guide, Tashi. His profound knowledge of Bhutan's history, culture, and traditions enriched our experience immeasurably. Tashi's patience and willingness to answer our countless questions showcased his dedication to providing an authentic and educational journey. His passion for Bhutan was infectious, making us fall in love with the country's heritage. Accompanying us on this adventure was Sonam, our driver. Sonam's driving skills were exceptional, navigating the winding mountain roads with precision and ensuring our safety throughout the journey. His deep familiarity with the region's terrain made us feel secure, allowing us to soak in the breathtaking vistas without worry. One of the highlights of our trip was the authentic homestay experience arranged by Acorn Tours. Staying with a Bhutanese family allowed us to immerse ourselves in the local culture. The warm hospitality of our hosts made us feel like an integral part of their community, and the traditional Bhutanese cuisine they prepared was a delightful culinary adventure. We even got to hang out with visiting locals around a fire and take a hot stone bath with a rejuvenating soak in mugwort. Our visit coincided with the Thimphu Tsechu Festival, a grand celebration of Bhutanese culture and religion. Acorn Tours ensured that we had prime seats to witness the festivities. The vibrant colors, intricate mask dances, and spiritual rituals that unfolded before us left us spellbound. It was a truly magical experience that we wouldn't have had without Acorn Tours' meticulous planning. What truly sets Acorn Tours apart is their unwavering commitment to accommodating their guests' needs. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Whether it was arranging for something specific shopping or getting us snacks, they were always one step ahead, making our journey seamless. Life-Changing Spiritual Journey
From the moment I reached out to Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel to inquire about a potential trip to Bhutan, Mr. Karma was extremely responsive, accommodating, and helpful. We had all sorts of information we needed to ensure our trip was successful. Once we arrived in Bhutan, we were greeted by our personal guide (Mr. Tashi) and our driver (Mr. Nidup). Both gentlemen were with us, and only us, for the duration of our trip. Both are extremely personable and knowledgeable. We learned so much and laughed a lot. Mr. Tashi always ensured every restaurant or host accommodated my lactose intolerance. They both ensured we always had enough to eat and drink throughout our visit and made us as comfortable as possible throughout. When an unexpected rainstorm hit us on our first day, Mr. Tashi recommended we change to a different hike/monastery since it would be less steep and muddy, which resulted in us getting an unexpected blessing/ritual bath from the lama (head monk) of the monastery. We saw so many amazing views and learned a ton about Buddhism and Bhutanese history and culture. We ended up changing our itinerary on the fly to exclude the Bumdrak Trek and camping for health reasons, which Mr. Tashi accommodated without complaint. We chose instead to trek up to Tiger's Nest and had the chance to meditate in one of the temple rooms for 30 minutes undisturbed. It allowed us to reflect on life’s journey that ultimately lead us here, the culmination of years of healing and personal growth. I'd highly recommend starting the trek early. We started around 6am and were pretty much the only people on the entire trek up. It made the trek so much more spiritual and personal for us. Mr. Tashi and Mr. Nidup provided us with their own personal trekking poles to use. Some tips when visiting Bhutan: pack toilet paper with you as many of the public and/or rural restrooms do not have toilet paper, have hand sanitizer available as many also do not have soap, and get into hiking shape to truly enjoy the experience. Bottom line...we absolutely loved Bhutan and plan to return. We would definitely go with Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel again and highly recommend you check them out too. Ask for Mr. Tashi and Mr. Nidup if possible!

Find Yourself in the Himalayas (& make some friends along the way!)
This was the TRIP OF A LIFETIME 🙌 Bhutan was such an unknown country to me before I decided to visit, and I am so glad I took the leap of faith!! From the moment I reached out to Bhutan Acorn, Karma Phuntsho was extremely responsive and thorough on guiding me through the tour itinerary, accommodations, and visa requirements. Feel free to be direct with Karma in telling you EXACTLY what you want from your tour and he will customize a tour JUST FOR YOU 😃. I was originally going to go for 7 days and extended my trip an additional day (before I got my visa) and he made these additions to the itinerary just for me!! Now, on to the tour itself…. Karma told me later on that he tries to make his tours private whenever possible. This was unknown to me before booking, so I was extremely surprised and happy to find my 8 day tour would be just me and my tour guide and driver. (SHOUTOUT TO NIDUP & NORBU - the best in the game! 🙌🙌) BHUTAN IS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY 🇧🇹 As the only carbon negative country in the world, the air is the purest out there. You will also be surrounded by breathtaking mountain ranges and rare wildlife (birds, monkeys, etc.) I felt extremely taken care of and can now call Nidup and Norbu great friends of mine 😃 As for the driver… Nidup was such a funny and outgoing guy. He really knows how to turn up the energy on some of these long road trips (hint: he loves rock music 🎸). He is also completely willing to speak his mind and put your best interests at heart (—he will make sure you get fair deals at stores) As for the tour guide… Norbu is a young and bright guy. He knew sooooo much about Bhutan and Buddhism. I could ask him anything and he knew it right away. He is also a very fast hiker (so if you want to save some time, he is your guide) Norbu is also an amazing photographer!! He happily offered to take professional photos of me on one of the days and edit them himself!! The photos attached to this review are from him. All in all, Bhutan was no mistake. It is a complete blessing. And it is a place I will most definitely come back to many times over (….But Nidup and Norbu must visit me in the USA too!!) To whoever is reading this, enjoy your travels!! ✈️ 🇧🇹 ❤️

        Best of Bhutan
Karma P, the owner was so quick to respond to all our questions and that really helped us to choose the company as our travel guide to Bhutan and we were more than happy with our choice. The guide, Thinley S, and our driver,Sonam D, were the epitome of graciousness, kindness, knowledge, and gave us a true sense of the Bhutanese hospitality. As some of us had palates that were sensitive to highly spicy foods, Thinley made sure that the dishes were cooked to our liking. They adjusted the hikes to our abilities and overall, they were very accommodating. Definitely go with them !

Dema and Kencho met me at Paro airport coming in from India and I was immediately put at ease with their friendliness and Kencho's careful driving through the mountainous roads in a very comfortable, warm and solid SUV car.

Unfortunately I became very ill the next day (something I had eaten in India)and everyone, Dema, Kencho, Karma, Lhendup and the hotel staff were so caring and attentive and offered to take me to hospital. Luckily I was a lot better after a good sleep and some hydration salts they gave me. I felt comforted that I was in good hands being on my own in a foreign country.

The rest of the trip was amazing and I didn't feel that I had missed anything seeing monastaries, dzongs, a museum, shopping, lunch at a farmhouse, attempting archery and the beautiful scenary. The weather was beautiful and sunny during the day and the hotel rooms were warm and comfy at night. They made sure I was going at a pace I was happy with not feeling 100%.

I feel that I made some beautiful friends in Bhutan and I would love to return for a festival and do the Tiger Nest hike.

I definitely would recommend Acorn Tours who genuinely go above and beyond from the visa and flight bookings to caring for you as a person.

Thank you Dema, Kencho, Karma and Lhendup.

Dear Lorraine, Kuzu Zangpo la! Thank you for a gift of 5 Star rating. Dema and Kencho are thrilled to hear about your review. It was quite unfortunate that you weren't feeling so well on your very first night in Bhutan. It is our moral duty to take care of our guests right from the time they step out of the arrival hall up until they step into the departure hall. I am glad that you felt comfortable with Dema and Kencho. We look forward to your next visit. Until then we wish you good luck from the Kingdom of Bhutan! Karma & Team Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel

We are very fortunate to have chosen Bhutan Acorn as our tour guide. Me and my friend have a blast experience every day and since it’s just the two of us, they make our tour very flexible. Whenever we reached some place, they never rushed us so we have time to enjoy the place. Sonam was our tour guide, he’s like sunshine, always in high spirit and he always tried his best to give excellent service and make sure that we’re alright and happy. Jigme was our driver, he made the 2 and 3 hours ride so smooth even in the not so good condition of the road. Both of them were always ready whenever we needed them. Lhendup and Karma are the owner of the tour and even they came up to see us in person. They treat us like a family and gave us unforgettable experience of a life time. Everything is perfect from the beginning to the end. Thank you so much for such amazing service.
