- milenar65500Best travel agency I could haveI had a great time in Bhutan and Bhutan Travel Guru was essencial to that. They made planning the trip so easy. My guide Phurba was always so kind and solicitous. Bhutan is a must see country and I couldn’t recommend more Bhutan Travel Guru.
- ggcnsidc00Best Travel Service in Bhutan! My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of Bhutan Travel Guru. Travel Guru specializes in “small group” trips, which in our case meant just the two of us. Because of our small group we got very personalized service. For example, the owner, Tsheten, got both of us window seats on the mountain view side of the plane for our flights. The views of the Himalayas were spectacular! Tsheten even arranged to meet us for lunch one day to ask how our trip was going. Our car was comfortable and clean, and there was always water available. Our guide, Phurba, and driver, Sherub, couldn’t have been more attentive and concerned. If on our hikes, we seemed to be tiring under the weight of our too-heavy daypacks, Phurba offered to carry them for us! Phurba was also very informed, and could answer all our question about history and customs. I highly recommend Bhutan Travel Guru as the very best travel service you can book for traveling in Bhutan.
- chanerj00Amazing trip with Bhutan Travel GuruI had a great time on my 5 day, 4 night trip to Bhutan with Bhutan Travel Guru. Tsheten was quick to respond to my questions and offered an itinerary that fit me and my friend’s wants/needs perfectly. None of the other tours I looked at included a trip to Phobjikha Valley (Western Bhutan Highlights tour), which I was really wanting to go to. And it’s a good thing I went with Bhutan Travel Guru, because this was the highlight of my trip for me. Beautiful views and hikes! Our guide was Yonten and our driver was Tashi, both of whom were great. Yonten was very considerate and never pressured us to go into any stores or do any shopping. That’s something that I’ve experienced on other tours and always disliked. Yonten also changed some things around in our itinerary so my friend could see the highlights before he left, which was especially considerate of him. A few other nice things about Bhutan Travel Guru: they were willing to accommodate our need for two separate trips back to Paro, since my friend was leaving a day earlier than me (which needed a really early drive back to Paro). Also, for the last two days, I was just by myself, a 30-something female. I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable with Yonten and Tashi. So if you’re thinking about using Bhutan Travel Guru as a solo female traveler, my experience has been very good.
- laurindodd00Highly Recommend Bhutan Travel Guru!!Our experience was absolutely perfect. Everything from the information provided to select their tour to their assistance in getting flights and visas to the tour itself. Our guide Sangay was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and very good communicator.
- 214nicw00Bhutan Travel Guru - Highly Recommended!!A Big Thank you to Tsheten and his team at BTG for a wonderful experience. From start to finish the attention to detail with organising the tour was exceptional and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice to book though Bhutan Travel Guru. The accommodation for 3 star hotels was excellent, and the entire trip was full of unforgettable moments. Our guide and driver were both extremely knowledgeable and hit the sweep spot between being attentive and allowing us space to explore on our own. Highly recommended!!
- krh201900With love to BhutanI have been wanting to visit Bhutan for 20 years. Since travel to this destination has become easier, & at age 74, retired, & with a reasonable fitness level, I decided, it’s now or never. Bhutan Travel Guru gave prompt replies to each inquiry I sent, & gave the best price with a custom itinerary. Not a single problem or glitch. We were met at the airport by our guide and driver, who became our companions & friends for the next 10 days. They anticipated every need, adjusted plans as needed, & provided safe and careful travel throughout. We stayed in lovely accommodations, enjoyed delicious food everywhere, and experienced a culture unlike any other- with politeness, friendliness, kindness, & courtesy always in the forefront. This trip exceeded my expectations, & all my superlatives do not do it justice. Special thanks go to Sangay, wise and knowledgeable beyond his years, not only about Bhutan, but the world; and to Yeshi, the embodiment of helpfulness good humor, and care, who, I think, can drive those roads under any conditions!!
- Menon5200Amazing holiday in BhutanIt was an amazing one week in Bhutan thanks to the wonderful arrangements by Mr Tsheten and his team. We had a dedicated vehicle for the 4 of us with one guide Ugyen Wangchuk and our driver Gelle throughout the trip. The itinerary was customised for our liking and Ugyen was an exceptional guide, jovial, knowledgable patiently explaing all aspects of the different places. He also suggested good restaurants at Thimphu, Punakha and Paro. We also enjoyed the river rafting at Punakha based on hos suggestions. The early trip to the tiger nest monastery at 6 in the morning as suggested by Ugyen was perfect to go and return before the scorching sun hit us. The only negative point was the selection of 4 boutique hotel in Punakha, the worst in terms of service, wifi connection and proximity to the town centre. Peylang boutique in Thimphu and Gawaling hotel in Paro were superb in terms of comfort and service. All in all an excellent holiday thanks to Bhutan Travel Guru.
- cpunktvpunkt00The real Bhutan experienceWe had an amazing trip from the eastern to western Bhutan. Mr. Tscheten was adjusting the trip to our wishes and the outcome was a perfectly planned journey to see the real Bhutan. Our driver Sonam & guide Dorji made our 14 day journey more roadtrip like with friends rather than a tourist group. We focussed on meeting the Bhutanese folks and eating the real Bhutanese cuisine. Sleeping in Homestays, visiting the village and family of our driver Sonam (Merak), drinking ARA and satying overnight in a monastery including meditation with a Monk teacher + ceremony. I never had so many great impressions and met so many nice and honest people like in Bhutan. Travel Guru made it happen. Thank you so much for this non touristic experience. Reco for whom it may concern: Spend time in the east as long as it is pristine as these days.
- jeff66100An experience that changed us forever, THANK YOU!From the beginning, when we got in contact with this reliable company, to the end, this journey through Bhutan was simply awesome! The owner, Mr. Tsheten, always acted with integrity, flexibility and excellence, that is why we trusted him from day one. Sonam, our guide, is very knowledgeable about Bhutan and Buddhism. He has an open heart and mind. We learned a lot, enjoyed every story each of which has a learning ending. Tashin is the best driver, always attentive to our needs and ready to take care of us. Both are sweet, gentle, kind persons and we will have them in hearts forever. The forts, temples, farmhouses, and hikes, that we experienced were remarkable. We experienced different types of food and loved them all. At the end of our 10 day tour we were ready to do it again. It was joyful, peaceful and delightful! From our hearts to you all THANK YOU for guiding us through your beautiful and unique country! J and L
- GBUC00Outstanding Trip with BTGMy wife and I just returned from an 11 day trip to Bhutan that was all that we expected and more, thanks to the wonderful and professional services of BTG. As others have commented in their review the BTG team is very professional and respond promptly to every request. Right from the onset, when I contacted them, the response has always been within a few hours. Tsheten, the CEO personally responds to every mail and is very prompt. The choice of hotel in every location (Paro, Haa, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey, Bumthang) was excellent as were the choice of restaurants for meals enroute. Our guide Yonten was friendly, very knowledgeable, patient and accommodating while our driver Yeseey was cheerful, encouraging and an extremely safe driver, never speeding and always driving at a pace that did not have us experience any motion sickness despite the winding roads. Our vehicle was always well maintained and clean with bottled water being replenished each day. Our guide always stayed back till we had checked into our rooms or settled down at our table for a meal to ensure we had something to eat as we are vegetarians. We did a few hikes ranging from moderate ( Tiger's nest & Goempa nunnery to Chele la pass) to easy ( Methsina village and Phobjikha valley nature trail) and our guide was ever so patient, never hurrying us and always pointing out great spots for taking pictures. We never felt rushed on our entire trip which is key, as Bhutan is a place to be enjoyed at leisure, taking in the sights, the fresh air and the genteel pace of life. Irrespective of the itinerary or type of trip you choose, BTG will be able to put it together for you and deliver an outstanding experience. It's a trip one should make !!
- Stephanie R00Amazing experience! Those guys are very professional! Made an excellent program for us and also included everything that we were interested in! The guide was very smart and friendly and the driver was super careful, (the roads are a bit rough). Mr. Tshewang and Mr Uguien made us have a wonderful experience, they showed the best spots in the country, shared their culture and provided unique local experiences! At the end of the trip, we were friends!!! Thank you very much! You are the best!!
- B7447MZrobg00Travel Guru provided a professional and unforgettable experience in BhutanTravel Guru arranged an unforgettable experience in Bhutan. Highly recommended. Our guide was Sonam and we commented often about how lucky we were to have such an amazing person with us on our trek. He is knowledgeable about the culture, religion and wildlife of Bhutan, while maintaining a presence that is not intrusive, and at the same time authentically helpful. We took the Druk Path with day trips to Tiger's Nest / Paro Taktsang, and to a deeply weird - and weirdly peaceful and beautiful - village dedicated to the veneration of penises. That was eye-opening, but the trek was, of course, the highlight of the trip. Gorgeous views of mountains and valleys shrouded in mist. It was the trip of a lifetime, thanks in large part to the expert care of our guide and the crew of cooks, assistants, a horseman and a small herd of horses. Each day we had three delicious hot meals in the wilderness and a dry tent to sleep in each night. Sonam helped with each of our individual problems and requests throughout the trek, including my own admittedly off-the-menu search for a tattoo to commemorate the experience. Recommended without reservation.
- Mark C00Spectacular trip by the BEST travel agencyOur Bhutan trip was exceptional. Every part of the preparation, the communication was prompt, clear and all our requests were taken care of. During every part of our 12 day itinerary, the sightseeing, transport, 4 day trek/camping and the meals were top notch. We especially appreciated the extra effort in organising activities to experience local Bhutanese culture and daily life. Thank you Tsheten and Yeshi for an amazing trip.
- 180zhiyuanc00The journey towards contentment, an unforgettable experienceThe trip to Bhutan was an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression on me. Despite having to return to work immediately after the holiday, I still feel a sense of peace and tolerance from my time there. My guide and driver were instrumental in making this trip so perfect - their friendliness, patience, and expertise in arranging the itinerary made everything go smoothly. They were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that we were able to enjoy the local food, explore the towns, try the local dress, and find whatever we needed. Lunch with Tsheten was also a highlight of the trip. Bhutan itself is a truly incredible place, with its clean environment, friendly people, and contagious contentment. I hope to have the chance to visit again sometime in the future.
- 942balajia005-star experience on Druk Path trekJust came back from a 8n/9d trip to Bhutan organized by Travelguru for a total of 6 of us. Tsheten and TG stayed with us all along and helped us organize the trip right from the beginning. Always responsive to all our questions and guided us through the rather complex visa and travel process. The Druk Path trek itself was challenging (for us) and incredibly beautiful. TG's guide (Sonam Dawa) and his gang stayed with us all along and made the trip so enjoyable. They were very knowledgeable about the hike, the various sights along the way, and flexible in working with our group of varied ability. Amazing food along the way as well... Overall a total 5-star expereince with TG. Highly recommend them as your travel agent of choice for your next trekking trip to Bhutan.

My nine day trip through western and central Bhutan was an incredibly memorable experience thanks to my expert guide Tshewang Rinzin and wonderful driver, also named Tshewang. They were consistently flexible with the itinerary, allowing me more time at places when needed or adding new sights along the way. As a solo traveller I appreciated how open and friendly both the guide and driver were. We had many great conversations during the hikes and long drives that made it feel like travelling with knowledgeable friends instead of a tour company. The owner Tsheten was very responsive, engaged, and helpful from day one communications all the way down to the final day of the tour. He made the process of visa, payment, and itinerary setting all very easy and even helped checked me in on the flights, booking me on the left hand side of the plane from Kathmandu to Paro in order to get a clear view of Mt Everest. Outside of the impeccable service the selection of hotels, restaurants, and sights were wonderful. Everything ran smoothly with Bhutan Travel Guru, I would strongly recommend them for anyone interested in visiting Bhutan, they will take great care of you!

This service offered very good, fast and reliable logistics planning. The driver and guide were both very nice, friendly and flexible. It was a bit difficult to understand our guide's heavy accent and fast speech but overall, we had a great time and would recommend the company.

Great Bhutan experience with Bhutan Travel Guru.
From the efficient booking and tour arrangement by Tsheten, to the fascinating traveling experience with our very sympathetic team of Yan Ten (guide) and Tshewang (driver).
Yan Ten showed a great knowledge of all Bhutan’s cultural and religious background, with an excellent English and good Japanese!!
The hotels chosen were vey special with great views, comfort and good meals.
The experience of the homestay in Gangtey, was unique, as most of the tour, we were quite apart from the Bhutanese people.
We would have included the National Museum and the Textile Museum in the itinerary.
Is it worth the cost, with the government “extorsion” of $200 / night per person?
Not sure…
Depends on every traveler’s pocket…

We spent 6 unforgettable days in Bhutan immediately after it was reopened for visitors in late Sep 2022.
Tsheten from Travel Guru built an itinerary based on our preferences and interests. He provided useful information and recommendations to help us get the most out of our time there. Still, the plan was flexible enough to allow last minute changes when we wanted to. The hotels we stayed in were carefully chosen by them, to provide an authentic experience without compromising on the level of service.
Our guide Rinchin and the driver Dorji, were super friendly and fun. Rinchin, a devoted Buddhist, is fluent in English and highly experienced as a guide. His knowledge encompasses history, geography, botany, religion, culture and politics. He was very attentive and struggled to make our "Bhutan experience" even better in every possible way.

I cannot recommend this tour enough starting firstly with the consistently prompt responses to all queries raised ahead of the tour along with the clear communication/instructions of the booking team namely by Tsheten followed by the efficiently planned itinerary covering key spots across Bhutan. Said tour was led by a knowledgable tour guide who was very courteous and patient along with Yeshi who is a very skilled driver with a great sense of humour! Both Yeshi and Yonten went beyond the call of duty going out of their way to ensure I got the most out of the trip and to ensure all went smoothly.

Tsheten helped provide me the best experience in Bhutan. I was extremely particular in the things I wanted and wasn’t sure how possible were the things I wanted to do. But Travel Guru came through in every way on every occasion. I asked specifically for homestays, monastery stays and farmhouse stays - zero hotel or luxury stays. I wanted a true authentic Bhutanese experience with local families and monks and this is what I got. Not only was Bhutan, by itself, a uniquely beautiful, charming and wondrous country, my guide and my driver were nothing short of the best people I could’ve asked to show me the country. We really bonded and had an amazing time. We shared laughs and had lengthy talks about relationships and music and they were very knowledgeable on subjects that I was particularly curious about. Yonten was my guide and Sherab was my driver. I know that when I come back to Bhutan I will be with these two again. I strongly recommend Travel Guru because they went above and beyond with my travel itinerary. The service was top tier and Bhutan is truly and amazing place.

Thanks to Bhutan Travel Guru we have had one of the best vacation for us! We love the country, amazing sceneries, kind people, tasty food. The experience was great and unforgettable. Tsheten, the CEO, gave us great recommendations, was very prompt with the communication and arranged all the details during our 13 days trip from East to West Bhutan, including the visas and flight tickets. We admired Phurba’s, our guide, knowledge and passion about Bhutan, its history, about Buddhism and all the local habits and secrets. We also appreciated Yeshi’s, our driver, skills and afford to deliver us safely to all beautiful places during our trip. And a sense of humor, story telling and playing carrom of both of them. Thanks a lot, we will be back some time. It was real pleasure to travel with Bhutan Travel Guru and I highly recommend to travel with them!

Go with the Guru! They are great! They made possible my trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend them.
These guys were great. They customized our trip during planning to meet our particular interests. They took care of all the arrangements They even made great adjustments on the fly adding experiences not included in the itinerary. The lodging met or exceeded our expectations. The guide was very knowledgeable and the driver was very safe. That’s important on the narrow mountain roads. We had a lot of fun and became friends with them both.
It’s hard to select a guide because there are so many-I would highly recommend the Bhutan Travel Guru.

We had a wonderful time with Phurba Tshering (our guide) and Sherab Tenzin (our driver). Our tour lasted 5 days and was well tailored to our preferences (a mix of cultural sights and hikes). Sights, hotels and restaurants were all excellent and well-chosen, the car was very comfortable and spacious.
Phurba is a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide, patient and always positive and respectful. Sherab is a very experienced driver with a great sense of humor. Overall, we truly enjoyed spending time with them on this tour, and were thankful for all our conversations not only about the cultural sights but also life and history of Bhutan in general. Moreover, Phurba always proactively offered to arrange our prefered meals and changes to itinerary.
We also found the entire process of arranging this tour with Tsheten (the owner) highly professional and efficient. Tsheten was always highly responsive, including on the weekends, and took time out of his busy schedule to meet us for lunch during the tour. The price for this tour seemed more than reasonable.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bhutan Travel Guru to anyone consisering a trip to Bhutan.

This was one of the best trips of my life! Usually I don't use tour guides but in Bhutan it is mandatory and was super worth it. We had a private SUV take my friend and I around on a customized itinerary since we only had limited time and primarily wanted to see the Black necked Crane Festival. Yonten (local guide) and Sherab (driver) were very hospitable and made us feel very comfortable and safe for two women. They both made sure that we had a great time and answered all of our questions. The food, homestay and hotels were wonderful and we never felt rushed even though we asked for a lot to see. Tsheten created a great itinerary for us and was able to meet us for lunch one day. We really appreciate the hard work and wonderful experience from Bhutan Travel Guru. It felt like a road trip with friends, with local music and lots of laughter.
