About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Meander6124420 contributionsAbsolutely incredible tour through Bhutan!Wow - what an incredible trip! Bhutan is absolutely beautiful with so much to see, I wish I had booked for a longer trip. My guide Norbu was so knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. This tour combined history, culture, food, and daily life so well I feel like I got a slice of everything and learned so much about the country itself. The resorts I stayed at were lovely too. Major shoutouts to Norbu and our driver Nedup for making this an unforgettable experience!Written 7 February 2025
- MerrillHouse0 contributionsThe Best Guide/Driver in the Most Beautiful County! This is a Once in a Lifetime Experience!Thank you so much for arranging a truly unforgettable trip for us! Our guide Tashee and driver Edoo were bot absolutely phenomenal! They truly made the entire experience in your glorious country a magnificent one. We will never forget our time in Bhutan. It is a land of true beauty and both Tashee and Edoo helped us to understand and appreciate that. Make sure you request them!Written 6 February 2025
- Gabelek0 contributionsBest guided journey everBhutan is a different experience. My guide Sonam enriched me with the visual language of Buddhist art history and philosophy, and my driver Nedup was also keen to answer all of my questions without tiring out. This has been one of the two best journeys in my life, the other being Mongolia. Some of the hikes were memorable, like the one where we could see a valley from the top and walk down into it. The spiritual aspect was also interesting since it’s hard to doing an English guide who can explain it in other countries. Bhutanese food is too spicy for my liking but Sonam and Nedup took good care of my after I fainted from eating ema datshi. They also made sure I could come back safely when I chose to explore the town at night. This has been the best guided trip ever and it was in large part due to the fun and energy of Sonam and Nedup!Written 29 December 2024
- Sightseer154844117920 contributionsNo better tour agency to book your once-in-a-lifetime trip with! The trip with Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel is amazing and we have absolutely 0 negative comments about it. They went to great lengths to ensure our itinerary was customised to our comfort, and our tour guide and driver, Tashi and Tshewang, gave us the best seven days we could've asked for in Bhutan—caring, attentive to details, and very knowledgeable. The attractions, services, meals, and accommodations are all worthy (or even above) of their value; and we liked everything included in the tour. Mr. Karma and his team are very responsive and ensured we are comfortable with the arrangements and everything throughout the process. We booked our trip during the lower season but still had one of the most amazing experiences ever!Written 23 December 2024
- Tourist3097200 contributionsA magical expereince.Having the local guides and knowledge was a blessing. They took care of us in every possible way, from the accommodations, food preferences, flexibility with the itinerary and when folks were not feeling well. Norbu was very knowledgeable about the sites, culture and personal experience. The tour operator was very responsive and flexible. Thank you for a magical, mystical and beautiful experience.Written 16 December 2024
- Kurt H0 contributionsAmazing week in BhutanThis was by far one of the best trips I have ever been on. Normally I prefer to explore places on my own, but doing this trip with a guide and driver felt perfect. From my first contact with Bhutan Acorn Tours until my flight out of Bhutan everything went very smoothly. Bhutan Acorn Tours takes care of everything for you: visa, flights,... They provide you an itinerary, but they are open to you making changes. For exemple: I wanted to see some takins, so they added a visit to the preserve on the first day. The rest of the trip was simply amazing. Friendly and fun guide and driver (almost felt like a road trip with friends), stunning temples and dzongs, breathtaking views, rewarding hikes, delicious food,... Bhutan just has so much to offer, and Bhutan Acorn Tours delivers it in the best way! I will definitely return to Bhutan one day to visit other areas and I will definitely reach out to Bhutan Acorn Tours then.Written 11 December 2024
- shannonwC3184FN0 contributionsHard to Describe how FantasticMy trip to Bhutan with Acorn Tours and Travel and guide Norbu Gyeltshen was an amazing experience. Setting up the itinerary was easy with Acorn Tours owner Karma, and all details were well attended to and even on the go changes handled effortlessly, that sometimes happen when trekking. Accommodations provided were solid and comfortable. Norbu is an amazing guide and thoughtful in every way. He is so knowledgeable about Buddhism, the cultural and religious base of Bhutan, and on our hikes knew every flower, tree, bird and animal. A wealth of knowledge and highly experienced for high adventure in Bhutan. I would visit again in a heartbeat! Fantastical, magical, mystical, amazingly kind people, and stunning natural beauty at every turn. Cannot say enough about the high level of service and commitment to our enjoyment by Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel, Karma the owner, and most highly qualified guide in Bhutan, Norbu...and our excellent driver as well Dorgi.Written 4 December 2024
- Lois19810 contributionsWonderful tour and enriching experienceWe had a wonderful and memorable tour through Bhutan. The combination of culture, nature, beautiful hikes and all the background about the Bhutanese tradition and religion that our guide (Sonam) gave us, was truly enriching. Our guide and driver took great care of us and made our trip an unforgettable experience.Written 1 December 2024

- G566ZCpiaj0 contributionsAmazing Experience! Highly Recommended.I had an incredible experience traveling through Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn Tours. Karma was exceptionally responsive, accommodating my requests to customize the itinerary, hotels, and meals before my arrival. Everything went smoothly and exactly as planned once I got there. The highlight of the tour was connecting with my guide, Kezang, and her sister, Tashi, who was also my driver. They were both so kind and dedicated, working hard to create a truly memorable experience. Their warmth and effort solidified my belief that Bhutan is a place I’ll return to again and again.Written 24 November 2024
- Pam L0 contributionsWorth the investment and worth the wait! This entire experience was unbelievable. I’d waited 16 years to make this happen and it surpassed my expectations in every way. The staff of Bhutan Acorn is the best! Our drivers, the Cook, camp support and our beloved guide, Lobzang, were genuinely kind, attentive, knowledgeable and took care of every detail. The tour was the perfect mix trek, culture and adventure. The scenery was as beautiful as the Bhutanese people, who made us feel like honored guests at the festival. 10/10 or 5/5 on this review. Simply amazing!Written 21 November 2024
- Gl0baICitizen0 contributionsHad the best time in Bhutan!!!Had a wonderful time in Bhutan with Acorn Tours. My guides, Tashi and Tshring were very accommodating and knowledgeable about Bhutan. - K1444TAjacquelinel0 contributionsFabulous tour.I cannot fault this tour at all . The customer service excellent, the itinerary fantastic. The standard of accommodation was wonderful, in particular the Home Stays. Our guide and driver were brilliant. Very good value for money.Written 21 November 2024
- BackPacker2765250 contributionsWonderful Tour! The tour gives a very complete idea of Bhutan’s amazing landscape (lovely hikes), stunning culture (incredible temples) and wonderful people. We will cherish the memory of this journey , both our guide, Yeshi and our driver Zayeapa have been “treasure revealers”: We have discovered this beautiful country and it’s gentle, warm, welcoming people thanks to them. We could not have dreamt of better ambassadors than them to introduce us to Bhutan’s amazing culture. They went out of their way to organize it perfectly, always seemingly effortlessly, but with great professionalism, interesting information, friendliness, conversations and smiles all along the way. They really earned a place in our hearts.Written 20 October 2024
- OnAir8263210 contributionsWonderful BhutanBhutan is a magical place ad we were very lucky to experience it on the Jomolhari Loop trek with Bhutan Acorn Tours. The trek itself is somewhat demanding so a good degree of fitness is recommended and we were somewhat unfortunate that the weather was not ideal for a few of the trekking days but that being siad the level of service given by Bhutan Acorn was excellent and this lead to us having a wonderful time. The guide Norbo, was excellent and Karma (the company owner) came along on the trek with us, which no doubt put pressure on the guides and help to ensure that everything went well. I was particularly surprised at the quality of the food we were provided with considering that it was always prepared in a 'field kitchen'. The excellent service continued once the trek was over and we spent a few days in both Paro and Thimphu. I could not recommend this tour company enough - if you are fortunate enough to be considering a trip to Bhutan use this company and be prepared to be completely amazed by the country and its people.Written 14 October 2024

It is the happiest country I have ever been to. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and in awe throughout the trip! The daily schedule was designed in such a way that it offered cultural visits, beautiful treks, and free time!
Tashi, my guide, was just outstanding. His enthusiasm for Bhutanese culture and his desire to bring the gorgeousness and history of the country in front was extraordinary. He made each site visit enriching and engaging with his knowledge and enthusiasm :) He also cared for me to ensure that I was always comfortable and having fun, providing me with all my questions answered.
Nidup, my driver, was also very good; I could not have asked for a better driver than him. Besides my comfort, he was also very careful while driving, making me feel safe. Furthermore, his friendliness was an extra plus that put a lot of creativity into the journey.
All my hotels were comfortable and luxurious and made me feel quite homely. All the places that I came across were as charming as the others. The meals always tasted great, with a blend of Bhutanese dishes and continental!
The most memorable part of the tour was the walk to Taktsang Monastery. The scenic views were incredible and left me speechless!
I recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Bhutan! I am already looking forward to returning as soon as possible!!!!

We had the most wonderful time in Bhutan thanks to our amazing guide Tashi and our Driver Dawa. They went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying every minute of our trip.
We are vegan, so our guide would call restaurants in advance to tell them to only provide us plant based food, and always double checked everything was plant based once we were there. All the meals we had were big in size and delicious.
The hotels we stayed were great, and the car was big and comfortable.
I highly recommend this travel agency, as their priority is your enjoyment.

Hi Bianca,
Kadrincheyla for giving us a great review! It has been a great pleasure planning your trip to Bhutan. I conveyed your review to Tashi and Dawa and of course, they were both very happy. A positive review from a very conscious traveler like you and Kevin means a lot to us as a small and responsible travel agency.
Thank you for choosing us to organize your holidays in Bhutan. We all wish you happiness and memorable adventures wherever you go!

This was a brief but wonderful trip into a unique country. I travelled with my 40-year old son and although we had not booked a private trip, there were only the two of us on it. We covered a huge amount of ground in the five days and, if the highlight was the trek up to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, everything we did was interesting. We especially like the stay in the remote farmstead. Our guide Tashie was superb - a mine of information and very helpful in all ways. The hotels were clean and comfortable, if fairly basic as regards facilities.
I would absolutely commend this trip for someone with limited time, but who wanted a very good introduction to this extraordinary country and culture

We purchased this private tour and then highly customized it. We spend more or less time in certain locations and arranged our own 4-5 star hotel accommodations and air travel.
Flying in to Bhutan was not as crazy as the internet suggests. Yes there were a few corners before we landed, but the landing was smooth, just like any other normal landing. Nothing special. What was special is that we passed by Mount Everest on the way. I highly suggest to arrive at the airport early and get a seat on the left hand side of the plane (facing the pilot). We had a quick stop in Kathmandu on the way, but didn’t even de-plane.
We arrived in Paro and were picked up by our driver Pem, and our guide Wangchu. These were great guys! We immediately drove to Thimpu and checked in to our hotel and had dinner there. We stayed at Terma Linca Resort.
During our stay, we saw/toured: Dochula Pass, Buddha point (largest sitting Buddha at 169 feet tall), Chimi Lhakhang, Punakha Dzong, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, Paro Weekend Market, and of course we hiked up to the Tiger's Nest. We saw 3 banyan trees that were taken as saplings from the original Banyan tree (Bodi tree) that the original Buddha sat under.
We also stayed at Khuru – this was only a 3 star hotel and was disappointing, and Nak-Sel Boutique Hotel and Spa which was by far our favorite.
Our driver Pem and our guide Wangchu were great. We always felt safe and well taken care of. Pem is an excellent driver. Wangchu is very inquisitive and is eager to learn about other cultures. This made the trekking time go faster and was a welcome distraction.

This was honestly the best guided tour I've ever had - what a great experience! Bhutan is a beautiful, soul-refreshing, fascinating country and my guide, lhamo (Jorden), and driver, Aum Dewa, were so warm, welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. As a single female traveller, it was so lovely to have female guides and I really enjoyed spending time with both ladies. During my short stay in Bhutan, I felt that I really got to know the wonderful culture and experienced many different aspects of life there. I will be recommending this fabulous tour company to everyone I know!
