- deons20240 contributionsPeloppones Natural BeautyThis hike is a great experience for all people who enjoy trecking and taking in the natural beauty of the land. Our guides were knowledgeable and had our safety as their priority. Unfortunately due to heavy winds our group could not make the summit, but that is just weather dependent, and it's more about the journey. Be advised that once you reach the group rendezvous point it is about a 1.5 hour drive to the treck start point so do be prepared for that. Otherwise, a must do.Written 10 July 2024

- roeburn0 contributionsGreat rescue of the day despite booking messupMy husband and I signed up for the Exochori hike through Trip Advisor, but we were given a later hour for arrival than intended/scheduled by Kardamiri Experience. Creating further confusion and adding further delay, our map app directed us to the office in Stoupa, not Kardamili. Trip Advisor had not provided us with a phone number for Kardamili Experience, but we found one posted on the door of the Stoupa Office. We called, realizing that we were going to be late even for the hour we were given by Trip Advisor. We reached Yiannis, who had already been waiting for us since the earlier hour scheduled by Kardamili Experience. Yiannis was patiently waiting for us when we arrived. He recommended that given the hour (now 2 hours after the usual start time for the Exochori hike), and the intense July heat, we change our plans. He came up with a shorter hike with less exposure, and made the very altered plan into a interesting and enjoyable walk, adding insights about the history of the area as we walked. We were grateful for Yiannis' ability to improvise and rescue the day, and he acknowledged the need to create more reliable ways for people to sign up for trips with the Kardamili Experience.Written 31 December 2023
- panagiotiskJ1534LI0 contributionsEast Mani e-bike tour. A ride into the wilds of East Mani ... and the Far South ... and no further! This is one of the more adventurous type of cycling tours that 2407 Outdoor has organized so far (and I have been in most of them, including their 5-star-rated “Hidden Villages of Mani” or else “Big Loop”). This one takes you far and away, starting from the quaint little harbour of Gerolimenas, through the wildest part of Mani and all the way down to legendary Cape Tainaron, the southernmost point in mainland Greece (or mainland Europe, according to some). We rode their state-of-the-art Riese-Muller e-bikes, enjoyed the expert guidance by Yiannis and Smaro, explored the cluster of Maniot towers in Vathia, stopped at historic sites, sipped our coffee with the locals at Porto Kayo and had the time of our life! We were riding in a wilderness landscape most of the time but never for a while did we feel unsafe, such is the level of professionalism and contagious high spirits of the 2407 people. Yiannis and Smaro, I can’t wait for your next project! Highly recommended!Written 9 September 2023
- panagiotiskJ1534LI0 contributionsHigh on the Big Loop!It must be those state-of-the-art e-bikes that take you effortlessly and quietly up the slopes while leaving you with enough energy to enjoy the stupendous views … or is it the hidden villages of Mani and the out-worldly byzantine frescoes in that old church … maybe the freshness of the tomatoes and the sfela cheese during the gorgeous breakfast at Kariovouni … wait a minute, it must be all of these plus Yiannis’s and Smaro’s presence (yes, I confess, I did the cycle tour twice and each time it was different). Whatever the reason and regardless which of the two you ride with as a leader, one thing is sure, you will never feel ‘low’ on the Big Loop, even at sea level. Yiannis and Smaro, I can’t thank you enough!Written 21 August 2023
- TomChristov0 contributionsHiking to Taygetos/Profitis Ilias 2407 meters highWe started early in the morning (5:15) from Kardamili. After 30 minutes we took of from the road and into a forest road that took us another hour into the Vasili forest to the starting point at just over 1500 meter. The first part of the walk was in the shade of the pine trees and after 45 minutes we had walked 2 km. and about 250 meters up as we stopped at «Musiaa» where we could fill up water from a natural spring. Now we are out of the forest and continued up to a flat part where we could see the summit and also the beautiful «Broken mountain» and the valley with the gorge that go all the way to Kardamily. We passed a rock formation «The gate to the mountain» and walked up to «Spannataki» at 2100 meter high after approx. 2 hours. From there there was an easy path to «St. George» From there we followed the west side of the Taygetos with stunning view of the mountains and the sea before the last leg up to the top. Our guide Yiannis that shared his wisdom of the mountain through the day said to us if we walk slowly with small steps we will reach the summit in 21 minutes which was totally correct. We reached the summit after 3 1/2 hours and 866 height meters. The top of Taygetos is flat with a lot of built up rock shelters and you can see the beautiful landscape of Peloppones with the Mani side and Sparta on the other side. You can also walk the summit from the Sparta side. It is a bit easier but not so spectacular. The trip down was almost the same. The difference was that we walked on the west side of «Spannataki» and you really had to watch your step. It took about 3 hours back to the car and a big thank you to Yiannis and the team from 2407 in Kardamily. You made this a very special experience for us and led us safely through the whole trip. Best regards Line & Tom.Written 15 August 2023
- Maria Grazia C0 contributionsThe best bike tour I've ever doneAmazing e-bike tour along the Mani coast. I did the tour with Yiannis and Smaro and I couldn't recommend it more. You will see incredible villages and the nature along the coast line and enjoy hidden gems at sunset. The tour is very relaxing and the e-bikes are easy to use and fun. This was the best bike tour I've ever done and the places you will see will make you love the area even more. It's the perfect bike trip if you want to relax, unwind and see beauty all around you. Yiannis and Smaro are fantastic, they will look after you, keep you very safe and you will have so much fun with them.Written 13 June 2023
- annaraynerlondon0 contributionsWhat a fantastic day! Highly recommend to anyone - you don't need to be super fitWe are regulars in the Mani region and yet this was the highlight of our last week visit. What a fantastic experience with Yiannis, to see the mountain views on ebike. A family of keen cyclists, this was our first time on ebikes and it's something else. The peace and tranquility of cycling but with super powers. The breakfast in a tiny mountain village (Exochori) was exquisite, local honey, feta, asparagus picked from the mountains. Yiannis is a great tour guide, you don't need to be super fit for this as the bike does the work. We had initially thought it was quite expensive, but it is WELL worth it.Written 16 April 2023
- lyingonabeach0 contributionsSuperbThis ride was one of the highlights of our week in the area. The scenery on the ride is spectacular, and the route was brilliant - very small roads with very few cars. The e-bikes were superb, state of the art, an absolute breeze to ride. Beautiful little mountain villages, and the privilege of being taken into a Byzantine church not normally open to the public. Wonderful, authentic Mani breakfast. But above all Sotiria and Yiannis were the perfect hosts. Sotiria sorted out all our arrangements promptly and efficiently, adn both Sotiria and Yiannis were so knowledgeable, fun and patient - really great guides. We learned a lot about the area and its people as well as having a superb ride. if you get a chance, definitely do this ride. You won't regret it.Written 23 August 2022
- 835karln0 contributionsA sunrise hike to awaken your sensesThis hike was a real discovery, a trip through villages, forests, olive trees, the mani gorge, and plenty of beautiful churches; we learned about the regions olives and olive oil, smelled sage and thyme throughout. It was an amazing way to start our Mani discovery week. Yiannis and Paschalis were entertaining, insightful and very patient adapting the hike to our family’s large age span (from 7 to 70) in a total of 4 hours. I highly recommend 2407 if you are interested to discover and appreciate the region.Written 3 August 2022

- 922sigridp0 contributionsBest of the Mani! This is my third tour with 2407 - I have done the Summit hike and the Ridomo Gorge hike in previous years. All tours are superbly planned, Yiannis is a knowledgable and fun guide, and you get to know the villages of the Mani and its people, the traditions and culinary highlights better. The equipment (bikes and helmets) is state of the art and well kept. I can only recommend their services and cannot wait to come back myself! Thank you Yiannis and team for being a highlight of my time in Kardamyli year after year!Written 11 July 2022

A brilliant hike, and one we could only do with a guide. Giannis was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable, safety conscious and brilliant with our two girls (5 and 9) who were really proud of themselves when they made it to the end and could look back on the distance they had travelled.
The gorge itself was a great place to walk. Really different from anything else I have done. A little bit of scrambling up rocks, but nothing too taxing and helped make the experience more varied. Really recommend it. The temperature was very pleasant to walk in, even in mid August.
This was an absolute highlight of our holiday. Thanks to everyone at 2407 who were all really thoughtful and helpful.

What an amazing day with Iannis - a wonderful walk up through the gorge with his excellent knowledge of the path and of the features of the gorge to guide us through. We were smiling the whole time - it is truly a beautiful place and to hike up through the narrowing gorge, clambering over boulders and admiring the rocks, trees and plants is definitely a highlight of our holiday. Thank you to all the team at 2407 centre - all of them are so friendly and helpful both in the shop and on the trail!

Great experience! The tour guide Yannis was fantastic and told us a lot of background information and shared tips for moving through the gorge and doing the small climbs.
We were picked up early in the morning in Stoupa, and we did not encounter a single other tourist during the hike through the gorge. We enjoyed the beautiful views and would recommend it to anyone. You don't have to be an athlete, but be aware that there are a couple of small climbs in the middle rocky section of the gorge.

The hike through the gorge was amazing. The guide (Smaro) was really nice, she told me all about the gorge and the history about some parts, gave me information about some plants and the area that the gorge is located in. It was an amazing hike with very beautiful nature. It was a breathtaking experience that i would love to do again. With a big thanks to Smaro for guiding me through the gorge with lots of interesting information.

Such a Perfect Day ! Having been hiking for many years, this was our first guided hike and it was an amazing experience. Yanis and Smaro shared their love of nature and extensive knowledge of the local area, history and geology of the Ridomo Gorge with us. We didn’t meet anyone else on our hike through the stunning Gorge. We look forward to joining our guides for another hike on our next visit to Mani.

Wonderful day of hiking with Ianis and Jorge. Must do/see in Mani. The hike is overall moderate, definitely need good hiking boots. Guides will help you to climb large rocks and show nice tricks. We learned a lot about the flora in the area. And needless to say, the scenery is spectacular
