For the Chemka Hot Springs Tour we’ll pick you up from your Moshi hotel morning or afternoon for the hour-long drive to the Chemka Hot Springs. Chemka Hot Springs is an oasis of geothermal warmth that bubbles up from underground. The pond can be very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can easily see the bottom of the pond. Regardless to its name, water in the hot springs is warm and quite refreshing and this is the one place where swimsuit is a must. We will provide you with a lunch box and a bottle of water. Eat your lunch in the shade of the trees or, if you’re a sun bunny, find a hot spot all your own. You’ve plenty of time to spot the wildlife that also enjoy the Chemka Hot Springs and return to Moshi refreshed, revitalized and relaxed after your amazing day tour at the hot spring. There is an optional cultural tour at Rundugai after swimming.

        Materuni & coffee Experience
We had a great guide, Ally, who was a whiz with our iPhones as well as the trail to help us get really amazing photos & videos. The waterfalls were a cool respite at the end of a good mid-level hike. We were there in the wet season so that made for some muddy crossings to get to the waterfall. Then we had great fun at the coffee roasting and traditional coffee preparations followed by a generous portioned lunch with our hosts. A lovely day and different from the other days on safari.

Beautiful gorgeous on the way up. Guide explain all the local flora. It's a hike 1 hr), especially on the way back. The walls were amazing and the cool mist was welcome. If you have the time I do recommend.

        Safari with friends and family
We loved the hike to the waterfall, lunch and coffee experience at Materuni. The hike to the waterfall may be challenging for some. Our guides Slyvester & Julius were great, and helped those in our crew that needed assistance. The banana soup was interesting. My favorite part was the coffee experience; We went to the coffee tree and they explained all about the history of coffee. Then we peeled, and crushed beans, then roasted them, and then they proceeded to make us coffee. My brother in law does not drink coffee, He loved this coffee. Definitely worth the experience.

        Hike and Make Coffee
It was raining, yet we still had fun. Make sure to wear hiking gear because with the rain, it gets muddy and slippery. We were led by Ali and team. They took very nice pics and videos for us. The coffee tour was educative with a coffee treat in the end from coffee powder that we made ourselves from scratch. You can call ahead to request for lunch, which is made with a local touch. They sell coffee beans to take back home from as low as 25,000 TZSH with less caffeine and 3 years shelf life.

Beautiful day out and experience local food
Fantastic day out with our guide Augustino. Nice walk, beautiful views, authentic feel of the area and delicious food. We booked this tour after meeting Augustino in a prior tour (hot springs) and he was fantastic. Very pleasant, lots of knowledge and we got to try some local fruits from the area, on top of our planned traditional lunch. Highly recommended!

Highly Recommend KLM Safaris - A Memorable and Sustainable Experience
My partner and I had a fantastic time with KLM Safaris on the Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour. Our guide, Frank, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of the land and sustainability, thanks to his background in geography and the environment, really stood out. Frank’s English was excellent, and he was kind and patient, never rushing us. KLM Safaris’ commitment to sustainability was impressive, making the experience even more rewarding. For a tour that blends natural beauty with responsible practices, I highly recommend KLM Safaris. A big thanks to Frank and the team for an unforgettable day!

        Consider other options
The walk to the waterfalls was not that interesting. The waterfall itself was not amazing and if you've seen any number of waterfalls you won't be that impressed by it. The process of roasting and grinding coffee and lunch at a small village was interesting, however we felt the entire trip was designed to extract as much money as possible in the way of constant tips at every corner or discussion had with any local. Am on the fence whether the tour was enjoyable or not.

This is the tour you want!
Such a fun and rewarding experience! Loved it from start to finish. Our guide was patient with us as we hiked to the waterfall, explaining about the tribe and village along the way. The coffee experience was by far my favorite though. Processing our own cup of coffee from the bean to cup was aaaammmaazing. And the sweet men and women of the village were so endearing as they cheered us on with their songs. The lunch was surprisingly tasty and filling with a good variety. You can buy some coffee, honey, or banana beer and other souveniers to support the village, which I highly recommend! Don't miss this tour! ALSO, i have compared similar tours and KLM seemed to offer the best value for money so I advise you book with them. Cheers and enjoy Tanzania!!

        Great experience with Agostino
We had a great experience going to Materuni village and walking in town. A cool adventure getting to the waterfall which was amazing. And one of the highlights: the ‘coffee party’ with the local family. That was a blast. Thanks to our great tour guide Agustino for giving us a great experience.

        Professional Safari tours. Tanzania
Two park Safari- imagination exceeded. Fantastic guides talking through park history, very knowledgeable about animals and best locations to view, constant communication with other guides to ensure best trip. Knowledge of local Plant life and medicinal uses for local tribes. And absolutely delightful way to spend tow days. Their recommendation for hotel was The Green Parrot at Mto wa Mbu which was a beautiful well maintained place and not a mosquito in site.

Had a great time at the hot springs with KLM safaris. Everything was taken care of from beginning to end. You get picked up from your accommodation on time, and you can decide for yourself how long you want to stay at the hot springs. I had a relaxing time swimming around in the hot springs, a beautiful oasis, and jumping in the water. Augustino from KLM Safaris watched my stuff while I was in the water. We went early in the morning, which I recommend as it was less crowded then! Afterwards, a tasteful hot lunch was arranged at the local restaurant as well. I would recommend this trip with KLM Safaris!

We went to Chemka as a family to honour my son's birthday. We were a big group age ranging from over 75 (my parents) to one year old. I went with my siblings, spouses, and children. It was an amazing afternoon filled with swimming and diving fun. There's a great friendly atmosphere among visitors, guides, locals, and government staff. The water is warm, and the fish bite quite a bit, but it's not serious or uncomfortable. I will do it again and recommend it to all travellers. The cost is reasonable.

A beautiful, natural place. Do not overflow and crystal clear water. It's worth a visit. Our guide Augustino was just great. Very accommodating and he knows the land, vegetation, people and culture very well. You learn a lot of exciting information and feel very safe. A very dear person. We never had a better guide.

We booked very last minute (10:45 for a 12:00 pick up), and we were instantly assisted. To make things more complicated, we had a pick up from two different locations in Moshi, and they were more than happy to assist. They provided us with additional water, the drive was spectacular and the location was simply amazing. The food on site was also delicious.

A great short day trip, and a wonderful and kind company to go with. Thank you KLM Safaris for your help today.

He offers many other services and was great to have a contact for bringing us to the airport a few days later. Thanks to him everything in Zanzibar was also arranged and we had a worry free and enjoyable vacation. We highly recommend his services.

He was extremely patient with all the questions we had about Tanzanian lifestyle, society, politics and we learnt so much during the time we spent with him. The spings are simply amazing!

Lovely day out, chilling and seeing some local villages. This a bit out of town and on dirt road but worth the trip if you are looking to have an easy day in between safari and Kilimanjaro. We booked our trip last minute and it was fantastic dealing with Augustino and our driver. We ended booking with them the following days for another tour and our airport transfer. Good communication and very nice to deal with. They drove us around town as well, the markets and helped us moving hotels. Highly recommend KLM safaris

Great place to go as one of the first tourists return to Moshi which allow my and my son to swim alone on the Hot Springs before some Tanzanians arrived.

Our guide Elly was excellent on everything. Great and careful driver, excellent on explaining the culture, food, etc. He even introduced us to a local card game.

But the high was both the fish eating our skin and the excellent food from the local kitchen.
