Overview
This grand Golden Circle tour takes you to the most popular sights where you can experience the three highlights of the South West of Iceland: Geysir, Gulfoss Waterfall and Þingvellir National Park. Plus you will visit the volcanic crater lake Kerið.
Highlights
  • Visit the classic Golden Circle sights and more in a day from Reykjavik
  • See Gullfoss waterfall, the Thingvellir tectonic rift, and Geysir’s spouts
  • View the Kerid crater lake, a stop missed out on similar tours
  • Learn the history and science of the sites from a guide
  • Admissions and hotel or port pickup and drop-off included
  • Great for first-time visitors and those short on time
What to Expect
After pickup from your central Reykjavik hotel or Reykjavik cruise port, settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with a guide and travel into Iceland’s countryside to see the Golden Circle sights.
First up is the near-neon blue Kerid crater lake. Continue to Gullfoss, whose name means 'Golden Falls,’ and take in this stunning, tiered waterfall as it plunges 105 feet (32 meters) into the Hvita River. From there, travel to Geysir geothermal area, an expanse of bubbling pools, vents, and geysers. Explore here and see the most active hot spring, Strokkur, steaming water 98 feet (30 meters) into the air every eight minutes.
From here, visit the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, home to a rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Learn how the plates are slowly moving apart, and see their exposed ridges.
After this final stop, travel back to Reykjavik where your tour concludes at the original departure point.

The places were stunning of course, but what made this tour so good was the guide, Chiara. She explained things, like how the geyser works, so clearly. Also she was full of stories as well as information. We were lucky enough to have a gorgeous...More

The sights on the “golden circle tour” are a must, and is recommended for everyone. However, our guide didn’t give much information about the individual sights, which was a pity. Apart from that, pick up and drop off worked great and was on time.

It was a nice tour. We had enough time to visit and take enough photos. We had a great driver Mr. Oscar and tour guide Anna.

Well organised. Pick-up and drop-off at our nearest tourist bus stop. Great locations visited and this tour including the crater which some other operators don't. Waterfall was brilliant. Guide was very informative. Highly recommend this tour operator.

I’m not one for bug bus tours but the tour guide Thora made this the best big tour I’ve been on anywhere. She shared so much knowledge on not only the sites we visited but also on Icelandic culture in an amusing and conversational way...More

As previous answers have said there are a couple of reasonable walks (waterfall, geysers) and some steps, it would depend on how close you really wanted to get to either, both can be seen from a distance and there is plenty... More

You get off at the listed stops. Plus some time to explore. Not just photo op time.
