    What to Expect
Your adventure begins at the Mountain Guides Sales Lodge in the Skaftafell-Vatnajökull National Park, where you meet your guide in time for your chosen departure time. After a safety briefing, get suited up with crampons, ice axes, and glacial hiking gear, and travel by bus to the starting point of your hike, a short drive from the lodge.

On arrival, take the time to practice walking along the ice, before following your guide on a thrilling glacier walk. Marvel at the wild glacial landscapes as you climb through deep crevasses and ice tunnels, duck beneath high ice arches, and admire glacier mills, ice walls, and ice sculptures. Listen as your guide explains more about the region’s unique geology and how the glaciers form and change over time, and catch sight of the snow-capped Hrútsfjall and Hvannadalshnukur mountains in the distance.

After a morning or afternoon on the ice, return to the bus for the journey back to the lodge.

Please note: This tour is best suited to participants with their own transport - travelers must provide their own transportation to and from the Mountain Guides Sales Lodge.

Did the Glacier walk with Ang from Glacier Adventures and it was amazing. He did a great job with the group and it had just the right blend of walking, hiking and adventure. A definite highlight of our 11 day Iceland trip.

We chose a full day glacier adventure. In a group of 7 people, we hiked to the glacier Skaftafell and through it. Out guide, Rowan, was simply the best! He took us on a tour that only he provides among all the guides, so we were alone on the glacier! It was such an unique

We were a group of 10. Our guide was Till, who was wonderful. He is patient, funny and full of educational information. We had a long walk to get to the glacier and then a short period of getting the gear (crampons) set properly. We walked out onto the glacier for a bit more
