About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Gregarious500 contributionsDidn’t work as advertisedI downloaded it the night before but it did not work the day I needed it. I wish I could get a full refund. Otherwise, a waste of money.Written 13 August 2024
- msflores010 contributionsGreat addition to our Monterey/Big Sur drive! This app was perfect! Easy to install and set up the tour. The app automatically adjusted based on where we were at. The family enjoyed the fun facts & made our drive from Monterey to Big Sur that much more interesting…Written 12 June 2024
- GaryS17710 contributionsLA Hollywood signIt’s Easy to follow. Automatically start when I reach one of the spot. I use it in Lake Tahoe and Los Angeles. Recommend for othersWritten 27 May 2024
- charlessP7957DL0 contributionsGreat place to stay in CarmelGreat room. We were upgraded to a suite. Very well maintained and a great court yard area to experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to friends and family.Written 17 April 2024
- Stay452532754280 contributionsLove the MountainsIt was an Amazing time. We had such a wonderful experience visiting Death Valley and Lake Mead, can’t wait to see more next time pplWritten 24 March 2024
- michaelmA5077QG0 contributionsGood Driving tourThe tour and the technology worked flawlessly. I did download it using WiFi as it didn’t like using 5G. I don’t know if that was my phone, data provider or this app that wouldn’t allow that. No matter as once it was downloaded it was all great. We used both the north and south recordings as the Big Sur is closed so we drove down from Monterey to Nepanthe and then north to Elephant seal vista. I just used “Resume from Current location” and the app just figured itself out. I would recommend this app if you are driving down the Big Sur. It will be better when the road reopens, but that is not the Apps fault.Written 23 February 2024
- rhondal20130 contributionsFantastic tour optionFantastic tour!! We loved it. The stories, the info, the ease and the ability to drive on our own. So clear, and easy to follow. We enjoyed 2 tours.Written 4 February 2024
- Mrsmccarron0 contributionsGreat value for the priceEnjoyable and informative. I would add some music in between the narration. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who likes to site see independently.Written 25 December 2023
- Far_Horizons0 contributionsGood Tour buggy app!Easy to follow. But the app is very unreliable with providing audio in the car via Android auto. Needed to be restarted multiple times.Written 26 November 2023
- lisa s0 contributions17Mile driveIt was not easy to navigate. The map would not show on my car screen so I couldn’t tell where to go. The signs for 17Mile Dr are not clearly marked. The road signs are very smallWritten 27 October 2023
- debbie g0 contributions17-mile is amazingIt was beautiful and not busy. Easy access to the points/beaches that we stopped at. Very friendly people. This was our first time. There was so much to see.Written 24 October 2023
- Ryan M0 contributionsBudget friendly and cost effective. A well thought out app that I will continue to use!I’m so glad I came across this self-guided tour on TripAdvisor. I was heavily browsing for a budget friendly, cost-effective option to help continue a 3 day birthday celebration for my girlfriend in Carmel, and Action Tour Guide was exactly what I was looking for. This affordable, one-time purchase app was amazing. I’ve never done a self-guided tour before and I can safely say this made for a pleasant first time experience. The sights alone are obviously gorgeous, but the back to back fun facts and historical backgrounds of each stop only made it even more memorable and exciting. The app is easy to use and helps elevate drives like PCH, especially for those who are doing it for the first time. Looking forward to using this very thoughtful app again and would definitely recommend it. My girlfriend and I had such an amazing time!Written 6 October 2023
- ewepp0 contributionsBreathtaking views of the Big Sur area!Your worked well. We were unable to do the full tour due to a road closure but had a long enough day. The narrator was upbeat and brought up highlights to stop for photo oops & hiking plus the perfect restaurant and view for lunch! It was a gorgeous morning but on the way back by late aft the fog had rolled in and the views were nil. So glad we got away when we did!Written 4 October 2023
- debbiebW8727MQ0 contributionsEasy and informativeThe beautiful drive was even better with the narrative, which was it not too intrusive. I would gladly purchase another audio tour.Written 24 September 2023
- lynnemC5451AB0 contributionsGood listening; map could be betterThe audio tour was engaging and informative. It added a lot to the experience. It took a while to learn to navigate the (driving) navigation function. When we took the wrong turn (several times), the app didn't help us get back on track. It took a while to realize we could go back a few steps in the app. Did we miss "how to use the app" directions, or were there none? The first (or last, depending where you start the drive) few steps (near Carmel) were historic background. I was disappointed we couldn't see the water for a while. The water views were very pretty. Most, not all, of the scenery could be seen on the public roads (starting at the Monterey end). If you turned inland to leave, you would avoid paying an additional $11.75 to ride on the "17 Mile Drive" private road. You'd miss some scenery but would save some money.Written 12 September 2023
