After pickup at your Salta hotel (select hotels, others meet at a designated point), transfer to the cycling center to get fitted with a bicycle and all the necessary gear. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. Head for the trailhead at the Quebrada del Toro, a thousand-year-old trekking path between the Lerma Valley and the Puna.
Ride from Campo Quijano village, known as the portal to the Andes, through a gorge covered with lush vegetation in the summer. Cross a bridge that's part of the Train to the Clouds route and then hop off the bike for a trek to the Chorro Azul waterfall. Along the way, your guide provides navigation, any assistance, and commentary on the area's history and ecological features. Rest and eat some snacks at Chorro Azul before heading downhill. Your tour vehicle then returns you to Salta.
