In March 2024 we did a great private wine tour with Camino wine Tours. Even the initial contact went extremely well. We immediately received an offer for our request. The entire process was always very professional and questions were answered promptly. Jan, our driver, picked us up on time. He drove us safely to the wineries. We were very impressed by his extensive knowledge of everything to do with wine and the history of South Africa. After this wine, we booked a trip to the Sedwick distillery. Everything went extremely well here too. Our driver was also a whisky connoisseur and was able to explain a lot of things worth knowing to us. We had booked a day trip through our tour operator SA Travel in September 2024 with Camino Tours. We had not booked a special wine tour, but an excursion to the Cape Peninsula, which we were allowed to organise ourselves. In this report, I would like to tell you about our experiences with Camino Tours, especially with our guide Louis. Even in the run-up to the tour, communication was very good and fast, so we didn't have to worry about anything and could just look forward to the tour. We were picked up at our hotel on time in the morning and greeted very personally with our names. We immediately realised that the chemistry between Louis and us was right. We were briefed on the tour while we were on our way to the first stop on the route, the colourful houses on Muizenberg beach. We had the opportunity to take photos and Louis was kind enough to take photos of us. The next stop was Boulders Beach. We were escorted into the park and were then able to walk through the park on our own. The next stop was Cape Point National Park with the Cape of Good Hope, where we were shown the best views and photo points. After lunch, we were able to enjoy a wine tasting at a wonderful winery before our last stop was the Chapman's Peak Drive in the beautiful afternoon sunshine, where we were dropped off on time at the agreed location. We are very grateful for this wonderful day trip with Louis, who patiently answered all our questions and gave us lots of additional information about the region. We can recommend Camino Tours, especially our guide Louis, without reservation.

We used Camino Tours for our girls' trip to Stellenbosch as well as Cape Point/Cape of Good Hope. We worked with Camino Tours to help design 3 days of sight seeing and wine tasting. We found Camino tours a pleasure to work with and they made our trip fantastic! We were picked up promptly in Cape Town and had our tour of the Cape including time with the penguins at Boulder's Beach. We were then dropped off at our hotel in Stellenbosch. The next 2 days were spent tasting wine around the region. We are big wine fans and asked for smaller wineries and a variety of tasting experiences. Camino tours did not disappoint! They arranged a great grouping of wines for us to taste. We also got a chance to meet with several wine makers. We also had very knowledgeable tour guide who educated us about the area and the South African wine industry. Our only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer! We loved being able to customize our tour and sit back and enjoy our time in the wine country of South Africa!

We had a wonderful day of touring the Stellenbosch area with Louis. He was on time and so accommodating to our requirements that he even worked around a family 70th birthday party. We had several restaurant options and the final choice at Longridge was probably the best dining experience we had in our three weeks in South Africa. We have no hesitations in recommending them to any traveller.

We are repeat offenders with Camino Wine Tours - great fun with a very knowledgeable guide. Having personal contacts at the wineries, Louis gets you behind the scenes for private walk arounds. Excellent.

We did the food and wine pairing tour in Stellenbosch this week with Camino and they delivered the same exceptional service we have come to expect from them over the past few years. Antoinette handled the booking process and was very kind and gracious when we had to change the date of our tour but once, but twice. Thank you Antoinette - you were amazing! Louis guided our tour and was excellent - super relaxed, friendly and knowledgable guide. He really looked after us and made our day thoroughly enjoyable! Highly recommend!

Our small group had an amazing time with Jan over the last weekend in April; he's a winemaker himself and taught us a ton about wine in between each visit and lunch. He also drove us through Stellanbosch and told us some about the town and university. He was prompt in pickup and dropoff from the waterfront in Cape Town, and his vehicle was comfortable for our size. The wineries were all great options, and we'd love to come back and do another tour sometime with Camino. This was our 2nd!

Louis picked us up from our hotel in Cape Town at 9am and off we went for the day to Paarl, Stellenbosch and the outskirts of Franschhoek. We started at Avondale, lovely location with organic wines. We then went to Anthonij Rupert, a very impressive location in the old family country house. The wine here was very good indeed, and when we were returning home to the UK we bought some bottles at Joburg airport. On to Graaf estate for a really top class lunch and guess what, some more very impressive wine! Finally finished off at a really friendly rugby mad family vineyard L’Avenir with some more very tasty wines paired with delicious cheese! What made our day special was spending time talking to Louis, listening to his honest advice and just relaxing. He was a brilliant host and even took us on an impromptu stop at the jail where Mandela was finally released from captivity. We would highly recommend Louis and Camino tours, and would definitely do that all again!

The tour with Jan was an amazing experience. His knowledge of the wine industry is wide and deep, because he is a winemaker and worked for various companies in Stellenbosch and other areas. The beauty of the area is unsurpassed and the wine estates are gorgeous. And of course the wines themselves were excellent. I could not have asked for more. He was professional, personable and so informative. What a way to spend a day.

Louis was excellent with gis knowledge and easy going manner. We visited several varied vineyards with different wines (we are red wine drinkers). Each session concentrated on red wines which was excellent. It was a long and extremely enjoyable day of fun and learning facts onnwine from the vineyards as well as Louis vast knowledge of the areas, vineyards and history. Definitely worth doing an exclusive tour, which gives you the luxury and personal experience, with our own transport and not being "on the clock" as we could be fairly flexible with our schedule.Money well spent. We even had an additional vineyard trip thrown in, and that was excellent as we ended up buying a few bottles from Camberley vineyard-a most eccentric, funny and affable owner .

I think what we really loved about the wine tour was that it was super relaxed and engaging. Having heard about the trams and the intense tours it was quite relaxed. The selection of the wine farms were a combination of multiple things including how beautiful the property looked and we also went to a few of the upscale wine farms. The pleasant surprise was that the people in the tour were a mixed bunch. As a people person, I really enjoyed that. My wife enjoyed the wine!

Wonderful experience with Jan!! He had so much wine knowledge and experience and adjusted the tour to what we would enjoy most. Loved getting all of his great recommendations.

We had a great day on a wine tour. We even got a booking for lunch at a place that we hoped for even if it was fully booked. Great day!

It was a great experiance and Louis is a very good experianced wine guide. It was good organized. I made an individual tour and another with a family. We visited 3 wine farms and had tastings and on request also was possible to get food

We spent a very nice day with Caminotours in November. Louis is a trained oenologist and gave us a lot of information in a very nice and competent way, we visited Stellenbosch, tasted boboties and enjoyed two winetastings
