360 degrees turning cable car sets the stage
Wonderful place to explore. Just note, the cable car does not always run, as high winds effect whether it will run or not.

A wonderful Robben Island experience let down by the shore based elements
The Robben Island experience itself was terrific. We never met the person who was supposed to meet us, he said he was running late so we boarded the ferry ourselves. On the return trip we became separated, and my wife was denied boarding , travelling back on a different boat, but it did arrive quickly. All in all a bit of a dogs dinner regrettably, but of no fault of the Robben Island team

          Interesting Vist
Well organised, but large numbers actually in groups on the island itself. Would have preferred smaller numbers timed more specifically perhaps.

          Excellent!
My pick up person was lovely. He stayed with us until we went through the ferry check-in point. He was waiting to take me back to my hotel at the end, even when the ferry was late in getting back to Cape Town. The Robben Island experience was poignant and emotional, and it was worthwhile going. Our tour guides were excellent!

          Amateur hour
Save your time and money. It’s amateurish organisation. The guides constantly repeat themselves. This could be done so much better

          Robben Island
Robben Island was definitely worth the trip, it puts the history of apartheid into perspective, very moving. Unfortunately our trip was cancelled twice but third time lucky. Our driver Said was excellent at sorting out problems.

          Robben Island and TM
Thought this would be with a group pick up but surprised when we ended up with our own personal driver for the day. Escorted us through to the Robben Island tour which was excellent and then transported us to Table Mountain. Great day and made Very easy by Said our driver.

          An amazing historical experience.
An amazing historical experience. The place has very historical value for the fact that a great man, Nelson Mandela, was imprisoned here for 18 years of his life simply for fighting against the injustices given by the apartheid government than. The tour begins with a presentation by an ex prisoner who describes the harsh life in this prison and the maltreatment given to prisoners who were just political activists. Worth a visit !

          Robben Island
History of apathide prisoners. Mandela's diary writing. Not as much information as expected. Depends on which ex prisoner guide you get and how easy to understand stand.

Amazing combo with a turning cable car
We left for Robben Island from V&A in beautiful weather and calm see. The island itself was idyllic with a beautiful view to the mainland and the mountains around Cape Town. The history was every thing else but idyllic and a former inmate gave us a good insight about the history - and the daily life at the prison. Good that it is history now ! The trip to Table mountain was amazing - the state of the art (turning around) cable car brought us to the top in seconds and the plateau was beautiful and with stunning views in all directions. We spent 1.5 hours just walking around. The trip was well organized and the guide was very nice and skilled !

          Excellent guide and tour!
My guide Chris was so nice and gave me lots of information about Table Mountain and Robben Island. It's a lot to fit into one day so bring plenty of sun protection and water. I hiked at the top of Table Mountain for an hour and a half and the views are stunning. Wear a good pair of trainers or walking shoes if you want to explore as the floor is obviously rocky. Robben island is also a good tour and if you love history then you'll get so much out of being taken around the prison by a former inmate and the emotional stories they tell so definitely worth a visit. Go with Sadie Cape Town tours as they are on time and very friendly.
