The Cape City pass is worth the money if you can squeeze in as many attractions as possible in a few days. The sightseeing tours included is the best value. Some museums included. Some discounts but they are not always correctly described.

I found this to be an exceptional value. The only exception I have with the whole thing is that it is valid for 5 consecutive days. It should be valid for 5 days in a month period IMO, as there are oftentimes weather factors that would prevent you from using it. For instance, during my stay, Table Mountain was closed for 3 days in a row due to high winds and rain. High winds for 2 days also closed other destinations and attractions. So, you may not get to use the entire pass. I was able to use most of it prior to the severe weather. Others were not that I spoke with. Also, it may take a day to see a museum and then you've no time to see other places. So plan carefully and exactly. If the weather is good, use it for the mountain that day. Don't wait, it can change in an instant. Don't miss the Contantia Groot Wine Tour if you are doing the wine tours. The double decker bus was perfect. I loved that thing. It is included for all 5 days in the 5 day pass. Bottom line, since it's only valid in a consecutive 5 days period, see if the Red Bus offers a more flexible deal.

we would highly recommend taking this trip around the city even if you have visited before. There are four buses in total that span a wide area of Cape Town visitng the base of Table Mountain, Vineyards with Wine Tasting, the Botanical gardens and much more. Find which spot you like best and hop-off!

Not worth it IMO especially if you are a solo traveller. You will spend time rushing from place to place to make it worth it. Tour buses can be inconvenient and frustrating to wait for - it’s far easier to use Uber for getting around. Also, they stop at 1630. I tried getting on one for a journey at 1600 and the bus driver told me it was a single use tour which I should start early in the day? I thought I could use the buses for transport any day, it seems not. Entry to museums and galleries does not cost much besides, so the pass is unnecessary. The Stellenbosch wine and cycling tours were a major reason to get the pass, but it turns out but they will not arrange tours for single travelers. So I can’t do any of those. This was hugely disappointing. I did the sunset boat cruise, it was nothing special at all. Overall I’ve paid a lot for a couple of 100 rand drinks vouchers and entry to a few galleries. I also paid for the Premium pass to do the shark tour and saw no sharks. It’s just how it is sometimes. Overall disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback we receive from our customers, and I would like to address each of your concerns. 1. Most of our customers are either solo or couples and there is no need to rush from place to place to make it worthwhile as you only need to visit 4 attractions over 3 days to save on entrance fees. We have customers who have saved over 70% of entrance fees. The potential to save money does depend on what you want to visit, so if your primary reason for the pass is to visit museums then the pass is certainly not for you, as you correctly state that they are relatively inexpensive. The entrance fees are listed online, on our brochures and guidebooks so you can determine before you purchase whether it is viable. 2. The tour buses depart on schedule every 20 min from each stop so there is very little waiting time 3. The buses do not stop operating at 16:30. The last departure time is 16:30 and continue on route until 18:00. Contrary to what you state, you can use the buses for the period the pass is valid, i.e., a 3-day pass will give you free transport on the buses for 3 consecutive days. 4. Certain attractions do have minimum entry requirements such as the cycling tour in Stellenbosch (min of 2 guests) of which we make very clear 5. Whilst most customers do get to experience sharks up close, unfortunately it is not something we can guarantee of which we also make very clear

The City Sightseeing bus and the City Pass option especially, is a great way to get around Cape Town and visit the major attractions. There are a number of options to choose from, all giving you added benefits like entrance included or vouchers or discounts on entrance fees or meals at certain places. Since we had 7 days in Cape Town, we decided to do the 5 day hop-on hop-off and iventure City Pass which included entrance fees, as the brochure states, to over 70 attractions, that included the Cable Way at Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch gardens, World of Birds, Two Oceans Aquariam, the Cape Wheel, a sunset champagne cruise(stunning!!!) and a number of other boat cruises, free wine tastings, beer tasting at the Beer House, meals at Hard Rock Café – Camps Bay, Mama Africa – Long Street, Mariners Wharf - Hout Bay and so much more as well full day Wine lands and Cape Point tours. In my opinion, it was the best decision.

Do note that some of the iventure vouchers are for places not exactly along the bus stop and may be a little bit of a walk, like Mama Africa or the Beer House, which are on Long Street or not part of the tour at all Spier in Stellenbosch. We did not realise that the wine tour on the Blue Route is not the same as the full day wine lands tour and had missed that mini tour entirely, however we still had full days on each of the tours and colour lines we used.

Remember the weather in Cape Town is very erratic, always keep a hat and warm jacket or raincoat with, these can the very useful when riding on the top deck of the bus as it’s an open top bus.

Great value for money, excellent service from all the consultants, bus drivers as well as the tour guides. My advice is to speak to the consultants and plan your routes/days depending on what you want to see. Michael at the Long Street office, thank you for your excellent service and going the extra mile to help us, you are a star.

We did the three day pass while on Cape Town over the weekend.
The pass is well worth it. We were non stop busy and didn’t have to pay a cent more.
We did wine farms, sunset cruises, the hop on hop off bus tour , a tuk tuk tour and much more

The only thing I was disappointed in was that the cable way for table mountain was under construction so we weren’t able to go up.

The value for money however was still very worth it
