Such a brilliant night drive. How the guide found us Spotted Gennet and a hyena I do not know!! Also saw lots of nightjars and eagle owls and the sound of the frogs was epic.Great company, highly recommended

Our guide was excellent, " Mr Leopard" delivered. Not only did he find leopard but also several hyena, Buffalo, zebra, various buck and of course chameleons. Just missed an elephant crossing the road (evidenced by the line of dung droppings) as we were absorbed watching the young leopard marking his territory.

Unlike the coffee and croissants boat tour that we took, the night drive was by far the worst tour I have ever been on. The only redeeming thing was that we were fortunate to have another group with us who were great company and the guys even helped us up into the vehicle whilst or guide, S'bu, stood by and watched whilst we struggled!!! S'bu gave us very little information other than the Hippopotamus is also called the Hippo !!! Our guide's knowledge appears to be very limited when compared to that of Siyabonga our early morning boat cruise guide. After being collected nearly half an hour late we spent most of the drive listening to frogs and finding a few Chameleons. To summarize, a total waste of time and money!! Am sure would be far more enjoyable with a more informative and pleasant guide.

Our family had a wonderful day out with Luke! We were very promptly picked up & treated to an awesome full day tour…he was extremely informative & treated us to a beautiful braai picnic as well! Thanks to Luke, the family got to sight so many animals! Thanks so much to Luke & Shakabarker Tours!

We had a fantastoc day with Luke at ShakaBarker. We saw a lot of animals and Luke was very eager to tell us about everything. In addition there was a splendid time at a fantastic beach with snorkling and playing in the waves. For lunch a good tasting barbeque prepared by Luke. Can recommend this day trip

We went on a very enjoyable night drive guided by Luke! He started by telling us a little about the history of iSimangaliso and the different ecosystems. During our drive he told us a lot of fun and interesting facts about the different animals we spotted. There was never a boring moment during the 3 hour drive with a joke every now and then. :-) We can definitely recommend this guided tour!

We did the Night Safari with Kian and the Hippo and Croc Boat Tour with Siyabona (sorry for any spelling errors) The night safari was absolutely incredible. If you are lucky enough to be guided by Kian for this tour you are in for a real treat - it is worth asking for him as it is an unforgettable experience. His knowledge, passion and ability to spot the smallest of animals in the darkness was just unbelievable. We saw chameleons, bush babies, springbok, hyena, zebra and many many more. Kian’s information was really fascinating, he could answer any questions. We stopped for a breathtaking moment of tea and rusks in the middle of the bush under the light of the stars. Thank you Kian for an unforgettable moment in our lives. The Hippo & Croc boat tour was likewise wonderful. Siyabona was kind, funny, personable and above all very knowledgeable about the animals. We had a wonderful moment right next to a large group of hippos. Unfortunately we only saw one croc from a distance but despite this the tour was still worth it and a great experience. Such a joy to be on the lake with a wonderful guide.

This was our second trip to the gem of a town St Lucia - one of the few places in the world I am sure where you have the bush (safari for overseas visitors) and the beach - all in one place. Kian and his team are extremely knowledgeable, passionate and professional. The tours r absolutely fantastic. We have done so many now and many more than once. The sunset and sunrise Estuary tours r beautiful. The game drives r definitely highlights. The night drive is spectacular. My teenagers absolutely love the Unimog. I don’t know how Kian spots those tiny chameleons. We stayed at EcoLodge for both visits - the food is great and the beds are really comfortable with quality linen. We will definitely be back. Hopefully Jan 2022 and would love to do the overnight Turtle tour - definitely a bucket list item. Thanks to everyone at Shakabarker for making both our holidays truly spectacular.

On a previous trip to St Lucia I had been on a boat cruise so I had decided not to do one on this trip. However my mind was changed when another traveler told me about the Shakabarker boat cruise. The primary reason I changed my mind was being told how knowledgeable the guides were and how interesting it had been. I would strongly advise taking the last trip of the day as it includes a sunset which was stunning the evening we went.

We recently booked game drive, boat tours and forest walks. It was worth it!!! I'd recommend Shakabarker tours anyday hands down!!!

Night drive....what a great experience, our very knowledgeable guide, Kian that made the drive so interesting sharing knowledge on both the animals, nature & the area, excellent viewings of bushbaby’s, hippo, frogs, chameleons, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, rhino, buffalo & spending time among the herd of elephant grazing. It was the best night drive we’ve ever done & ending it off with hot chocolate under a sky of bright stars. Thank you so much, we’ll be back.

Excellent experience with JABULANI. -Goes into intricate details about everything he sees, -Open to questions about anything, -Great spotting skills (spotted a Cameleon amongst leaves while he drove and operated the spotlight), -Great people skills and really interactive with his guests, -Really knows how to ease a crowd (there was a situation where a guest suspected that a snake had slithered around him. Jabulani was quick to explain what snake it likely was, and assess if he had potentially been bitten; he had not been.) I would highly recommend booking with this tour operator. I am certainly going to in future.
