This 3-hour combo-tour provides a perfect introduction to Ketchikan. Begin with a 20-25 minute tour of the city, and see Indian Town, Harris Bridge, Creek Street, Salmon Ladder, and more.
Head on a scenic drive and spend 20-30 minutes at Herring Cove. Depending on the time of year, you may catch sight of bears, whales, deer, American bald eagles, and salmon (more likely from June through September).
Journey north of Ketchikan and get to know Potlatch Park and Totem Bight State Park. Spend 45-50 minutes in the area, starting at the Totem Pole Carving Center. Hear carving stories and learn about different techniques. There are more than 30 totem poles, antique cars, and weapons to see as well. Embark on a self-guided tour or purchase snacks in the park.
On the return drive, pass the Ketchikan Pulp Mill, which led the Southeast’s logging industry until it shuttered its doors in 1997.
At the end of the tour, your guide offers suggestions on what to explore further on your own in Ketchikan.
