- uchechia0 contributionsAmazing tour guide and friendI had a great time with Adrian. He took me around CR for 4 days and it was great because he showed me many things you won’t find in tourist books. I was worried about traveling alone with a guy but he was respectful and I always felt safe. If I am ever in CR, I will definitely contact him again. He is also an amazing photographer.Written 1 February 2020
- domica19090 contributionsLa pura vida in La Fortuna / Rio CelesteI only spent 2 days with Adrian, but he made my trip unforgetable. His very respectful nature combined with a vast amount of knowledge about Costa Rica make him the perfect travel companion, who is always on the look for the hidden gems. Traveling with a local was a great travel experience, which gave me valuable insights in the Tico‘s lifestyle. I wouldn‘t hesitate to book another trip with Adrian.Written 19 November 2019
- Jean-Claude V0 contributions¡Pura vida! ¡I enjoyed CRisca with Adrian!I spent 9 days with Adrian. I hadn't much time to discover all by myself Costa Rica (1 month in total) so I wanted to see the hidden gems of Costa Rica with a local. Was a great decision! Adrian knows all the off road places of Costa Rica, and there are many. Island with bioluminescent plankton, canyoning in remote village, he takes you to the best places in Costa Rica. He is very cool and relax, you'll have a great time with Adrian. I stongly recommend Adrian for your visit in Costa Rica!Written 7 November 2019
- 207jul0 contributionsTravel with a localAdrian is by far one of the best travel guides I ever met. He knows the touristic as well as the non-touristic spots and travels around with you in a very relaxed Costa-Ricaen way, not the rushy touristic way. He takes care a lot about your wishes. I would always travel with hin again!Written 27 October 2019
- theresab4510 contributionsAmazing Experience with a New FriendExploring Costa Rica with Adrian was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! We visited a lesser known natural hot spring in the rainforest, kayaked a river, went to a fun and relaxing hot spring resort, ate lunch at a lovely restaurant overlooking the hills, bungee jumped in the mountains, enjoyed drip coffee in a cafe that was also a tree house, and camped overnight on a bioluminescent beach. Everything was very affordable as well, Adrian is very reasonable with his rates. The best part of everything was getting to know and spend time with Adrian. He has a vibrant and fun spirit and it was a pleasure to encounter the jewels of Costa Rica with him. One of my fondest memories is grocery shopping and cooking a full dinner at the camp on the bioluminescent beach together with everyone on the trip. I will definitely be keeping touch and seeing him again. My boyfriend and I were staying in a hostel at the start of our vacation and thats where we found him and another woman that currently booked him. They kindly let us tag along! Our original plan was to rent a car but after meeting Adrian and talking to the locals, booking with him saved us a lot of time, trouble, and research. We really lucked out on finding him!Written 26 October 2019

A truly wonderful and off-the-beaten path to see two volcanos, but Turrialba is really the highlight. While the vistas and views from Irazu are impressive, seeing the power and destruction of Turrialba up close is a one-of-a-kind experience. The fog and mist rolling off the mountain added a surreal touch. The visit to the basilica in Cartago gives some interesting history and local legend. If there’s time for coffee at the end of the day, that may be the best part! Adrian was Informative, professional and gave us as much time as we needed. Strongly recommend especially if you prefer something less commercial and out of the ordinary.

Although I booked for an English speaking guide, I was given a non fluent English speaker but the guide did his BEST to keep me engaged and take care of me through out the day. I do not know conversational Spanish so I personally felt the difficulty, as the previous night I had booked a walking tour and dinner where the guide was a fluent dual language speaker.
Now the crux:
Level of service - 4 stars. Guide Rady - 5 stars.
Price wise may seem a bit expensive at first glance BUT do check Uber drive cost. You would anyways spend $100 to and from the volcano, plus you get the tour of the cathedral, other historic sites, and a kind of mini city tour too.
Excellent choice in case you cannot to go Poas.

My vulcon trip was amazing!! Everything was perfect.
My personal guide, Mr Adrian Granados was very polite, showing very good knowledge of the local place and the all stuuf within this journey. He speaks English, Spanish very well and understandable Portuguese also!
We started at 8:30, driving about 1:30h until the Irazu Volcano. It was about 3.420m above sea, too windy and cold sometimes, being a food ideia to bring sunblock, wearing an cold jacket.. The viewing is amazing and take photos as you can..
In clear days one can see the Atlantic ocean and in the opposite side the Pacific ocean!!
After this, we drove until the Turrialba volcano. It was pretty scary once I coukd see really rhe devastation occasioned by the Piroplastic erruption occured in the 50’s... the dead grove, houses ans installations abandoned... the polluted water also. The climate there change fast, with rain, sun, wind and hot at same time or in minutes apart.
Be prepared for that...
The more astonishing was to see the smoke that never end at the cume.. and the sulfor smell present at nearest location allowed..
So, I reccomend this trip with these guys.

What impressed me more was to walk so near the active volcano Turrialba; to step on the continuously settled ash and to observe the contrast between the green of the living grass and the grey of the effect of the eruption. Adrian’s knowledge of the place is a certainty. Let’s go to see with your own eyes!

I went to the Vulcano for one day-an amazing experience! We arrived the evening before when it was already dark. Simply setting up our tent for the night was a great adventure. The nights there a pretty cold-so make sure to being a sweater. The next morning we had a great typical breakfast and then headed off for a walk through the volcanic area. The scenery is incredible!!! Adrian explained about the history of the area and the consequences of the eruption for the people living there. It was the perfect mix of nature and knowledge!
I definitely recommend it, especially because in this way you get an exclusive experience. We were walking separate away from the bigger groups and could absorbe the beautiful surroundings!
