About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- gn8908900 contributionsTropical luxury in Hacienda PinillaHacienda Pinilla is tropical luxury! Monkeys in the trees, deer & cattle wandering the property, mountain biking trails, whole house rentals or JW Marriott, horseback riding, stellar golf course, miles of beaches, incredible surfing, the list goes on & on... You won't want to leave!Written 5 August 2024
- BrittanyJ070 contributionsDon’t do it!I personally would never use this transportation company again I arrived in Costa Rica July 9. My flight was delayed coming from Houston, which Houston was a connecting flight for me from Chicago. I did not know my flight was delayed until I got to the gate in Houston after running through terminals through an airport, I’ve never been to just to make my connecting flight. I received a text message from a lady named Mary saying I had to pay an additional $50 on top of the $220/$230 I’ve already paid for the private transfer. And if I don’t pay this $50 then pretty much my driver will not wait for me that I did not give them a notice that my flight was delayed. Now as a transportation company isn’t it your responsibility to keep track of when flights are coming in and when flights are delayed? And the funny thing is when my flight landed we were the only flight that had landed at that airport. There was no other incoming flights. I have traveled to many countries across the world and have use many private companies and have never been given an ultimatum of “our driver can wait for you”…. BUT You have to pay an additional $50. Definitely feel scammed and swindled out of additional money. The only positive thing I will give of the review is that both of my drivers were very nice. However, the company in general needs better practice and need to STATE in their information when booking on Tripadvisor that if your flight is going to be delayed, you need to inform us since they seem like they can’t do their job on their end to keep track of when they’re clients are coming in. Or otherwise, they’re going to charge you more money, which is completely diabolical. And don’t bother going through Tripadvisor to request a refund, which I tried to do because you will get denied. NEVER AGAIN!Written 18 July 2024
- karenoR2907VQ0 contributionsBest Way to Begin a Family VacationLoved knowing that someone was waiting to take us to our hotel. Their sign had our name on it so it was easy to identify our ride. Jose was very kind and helpful and on the way to the hotel, he told us a lot about the country and things that tourists may find interesting. This was the best way to begin our family vacation!Written 4 June 2024
- mulhall-dk0 contributionsWow too long a shuttle if only going for 1 week!! 3 hours plus last tripNo fault of anyone but after a 5 hour flight and then another hour waiting to get through and get luggage we were pointed to where our shuttle was. No problem. We were expecting our usual 2+ hr trip however airline was delayed therefore everything delayed. If your shuttle leaves the LIR airport between 3-5 yikes more like a 3+ shuttle ride. He did ask if we needed a stop halfway through (bathrooms) do so if you think as after that nothing around until there. Like I said its not there fault if you choses to go to Samara/AZURA. Do your research. We do like the resort but for ! week. Shuttle time definatley not worth it. Go longer or elsewhere.Written 25 March 2024

- Kelli C0 contributionsPrivate Transport Riu Guanacaste Group of 8Reasonable round trip cost for our group of 8, private transfer to the RIU Guanacaste resort. Was met outside airport with a name sign, led to our clean air-conditioned 10 person van. Water provided. Also stopped for our group to pick up drinks and snacks. Driver provided some information about areas and sights as we were passing through. Picked up about 3.5 hours before return flight, perfect timing to check in at airport! Would recommend and use again if in the area.Written 5 September 2023
- jillaK3543OD0 contributionsExpected MoreThe Westin is a large property and had a beautiful beach. The streets were very quaint although it was a walk to get anywhere. And we weren't expecting all the vendors on the beach trying to sell us stuff all day long though. Our rooms were nice with a semi-private bedroom area and a sitting area. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of closet space and a safe. The food at the Asian and Steakhouse were good but we did not have great food at the Italian restaurant. We were also not aware that we had to make dinner reservations before we arrived so we they couldn't fit us in until 8:45 pm each evening. The food at the international restaurant which is the only one open for breakfast and the main lunch area had a lot of choices but the food was just ok. Some of the staff there were friendly but the people behind the counter were not and some didn't speak english to understand what we were trying to order. The pina coladas from the bars were great though and it was nice to have food and drink available all day. The restaurants and pizza place all closed before 10pm so it was only room service available at night. We thought there could have been a few more options for food but several were closed when we were there. It was a bummer for the kids that the pool and everything seemed to close at 6pm. There weren't many activities in the evening and the beach was dark. Disappointed!Written 6 August 2023

- C8742TQjohng0 contributionsTamarindo - past it’s prime?I’ve been going to Tamarindo every year for over 30 years. I was looking to retire there - at least do the snowbird thing - it’s no longer a feasible or attractive option for me. Rents have high skyrocketed. A month to month rental is $1000 for a studio and $1500 for a 1 bedroom - that’s if you wanna be in town. Hotels have really jacked up prices too. A decent hotel in high season is $120 to $300 per night. Even at those prices, it’ll be worth it to most people: the beach, the surf, the sun, the cute shops and a few great restaurants. It’s still charming, still Tamarindo, but there’s heavy traffic on the main road to town every day from early afternoon through the evening. With such large crowds there’ll always be hustlers and predators…I’ve never been approached by so many drug dealers in all my travels, and some of the related violence is literally unspeakable- I mean nobody talks about it. It’s unnerving. But this is the shrinking and hard world we live in. A highlight for most visitors to Tamarindo is getting out of Tamarindo for a day and visiting Lola’s Restaurant in Avellana. The edge of the ever expanding little city has always been my sweet spot. Safe travels and be a travel diplomat.Written 21 February 2023

- khanfam0 contributionsLong and winding road.It is a 2 1/2 hour ride from the airport to the hotel. Nice part is that it is in a comfortable van, with a friendly driver. Problem is that the roads are narrow, but scenic, and if there is a slow moving loaded truck in front of you it feels like forever. The driver tries to explain along the way, but has to watch the road a lot. These guys make multiple trips a day back and forth, and usually get back home at near 11 pm, where they still have to wash the large van before greeting the next batch. So tip them well.Written 29 November 2022
