We don't want to spill the beans and kill the excitement, so come on this walking tour and explore the best of the food in Chennai (unknown to major tourists) that you would easily miss if you are exploring the city on our own. 1. Stroll the lanes with oldest food shop of the city of lakes, taste variety of local Kerala snacks like idiyappam, nuller puttu, payamburi, dhokla, chips, variety of namkeens and kerala halwa, taste of these will definitely delight you. 2. Witness the preparation of the most celebrated sweets in the coastal state, some delicacies that even though did not originate from Chennai but still are a part of its rich cuisine for centuries. 3. Sip a cup of chai tea in clay pot with unmatched views of Chennai, admire its beauty while doing what people like doing – eat. 4. Taste Chennai Sweets, and different variety of mouth freshener, Chaat ect. and end the walk with a delicious dessert.

    Hari is a great guide!
Hari our guide was so nice! Super lovely to go around with someone with a lot of knowledge about the temple and surrounding areas. Wasn’t so structured but we didn’t mind

    Unfogettable. 100% recommended
100% recommended. If you want to discover the temples, the gods and hindu culture this is the tour to get. The guide Manikanda was so respectful and generous in his sharing. It was the best guide I could have for my first step in discovering hinduism. He made me feel safe and welcome. Thank you Manikanda for the tour. Unforgettable.

    A shambles
There was a lack of communication between the tour operators and myself and also the tour operator and the guide We had booked 2 x 2hours tours and were happy to combine as some would overlap Th tour operator did not reply to 2 messages about the itinerary so we decided to go to the meeting point at 10am as advertised Nobody was there Called the tour operator but no answer so left a message Shortly after I got a message from the guide saying he would meet us there at 13 noon I told him we were already there and he said he would be there in 30minutes He appeared over an hour later with another guy who said he was going to do te second tour They took us for a cold drink as we had been standing in the hot sun for nearly 90 minutes Then we went into the Temple, walked round it before they took us for a local meal and a coffee And that was it Just overall hour from meeting them We could have done what they did ourselves as I don't know anymore than before the tour

    Sunday Drive in Chennai
We had a wonderful experience driving around the city on a lazy Sunday. Our guide Gopal arrived well before time. He was very courteous. We enjoyed our stop at Kapaleeshwar temple and at St Thomas Basilica. Afterwards, we chose to remain in the car as it was very hot. We did see all the major architectural buildings including the social houses for the fishers in Marina Beach. Our guide provided thorough explanations in excellent English. The car in which we drove was well maintained with good AC. Thank you for this beautiful first visit of Chennai.

Nice walkabout in Chennai near beach
We enjoyed our tour with Tharun. He told us a lot about the temple including practises and different stories about the gods that are worshipped. He was also knowledgeable about local culture and great at answering various questions.

Terrible Customer Experience. Will not recommend
Tour operator was unresponsive. Did not pick up calls and very slow to reply to messages (if at all). When they finally did reply my message, they confirmed the tour was on the 3rd of Feb at 9am, but then was a no show. They called later in the day at around 2pm (while I was having lunch) trying to offer to pick me up where ever I was, completely disregarding my plans for the day and the inconvenience they had caused. I told them that I had a dinner at 7.30pm and will not have time for a tour as I need to go back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and I also haven't finished lunch. They kept insisting that they can pick me up right there and then to start the tour with no consideration that I was having lunch with company and can't just wash my hands and leave. All in all, terrible customer focus.

    Top Temple
It was a brilliant tour, stunning dances, interesting temple, Tharon was a great guide. He explained very clearly the religious history of the temple. Nice walk to St Thomas. Tharon even taught me the correct way to eat off a palm leaf, right hand only.

    A magical experience !
I had amazing experience with my guide Tharun . I can’t recommend this walk enough for anyone interested in Hindu mythologies, religious rites and ceremonies . The temples covered on this walk are outside of the Mylapore temple complex and well worth the visit . Starting with the first temple dedicated to Lord Shiva the healer and medicine god to the amazing seashore temple featuring the eight emanations of Lakshmi this tour is a feast for the senses and the soul . I did the tour at 5 pm and felt that doing it after dark heightened my experience - the glow of the offering candles , the divinities surrounded by fire , the incense aroma was incredible . I witnessed a procession of one of the gods around the temple which was accompanied by music - horns , drumming and the devotion of the worshipers . It was a privilege to witness such profound devotion and rapture . A celebration of living myth , participation in an ancient ritual . Tharun is a lovely mild mannered intelligent young man who told me many wonderful stories about the different gods , carvings , rituals we saw . Highly recommended for any spiritual seeker and visitor to amazing Chennai .

Great tour (not too long, not too short)
We had a tour with Manju today and it was amazing. We didn't want to have a long 5-7hrs tour so we decided to take this tour which was approx 3 hrs. We went through mylapore and visited 4 places. Manju had some nice stories to tell with every site we visited. I think the combination of having a personal touch with stories about Chennai and the different sites was perfect. It wasn't like a tour which was a 3gr long story where you had to pay attention the entire time :) I would recommend everyone to take this tour as we enjoyed it very much! Big thanks to Manju!!

I had a great time with guide Manju priya from Yo tours. I tried a bunch of delicious street food that I would not think of trying otherwise. I highly recommend Manju, she is very knowlegeable in history and about Chennai.

We wanted to experience Indian street food with someone who knew where to go and in places that were clean. Our guide was Manju who was brilliant. We felt like we were having dinner with a friend. Her English is excellent and she was able to answer many different questions we had about India. We were able to try a Variety of foods and look at any shop we wished at the market. Manju listened to our requests and also made choices for us which was really nice!
Beware the market is super busy in the evening but we escaped to a few air conditioned restaurants for meals.

Thanks Manju!

It was fascinating to experience the hustle and bustle of the Georgetown market area! Such a crush of people, cars, tuk tuks, bikes, scooters, dogs, even horse drawn carts. The food part of the tour was ok, tasty for sure, but we were surprised to still be hungry- there just weren’t very many stops and the last stop was the same as the first. The sweets shop was a tour highlight. Our guide was organized, enthusiastic, and warm but the tour wasn’t super informative because we spent most of the time navigating the streets and not talking with him. We are glad we went.

Really great experience, good value for money and we would recommend to anyone visiting Chennai!
Tharun was super friendly and helpful. He catered to everyone on the tour really well, such as making sure the foods were to our preference by asking for extra spice or low spice. We got to try a variety of sweet and savoury snacks as well as masala chai and sugar cane juice. Thank you for a great tour :)

Amazing tour with Hareesh. Felt like a local with his help including the jammed city streets. Help us shop for a wide range of items including sandals, baby gifts, and silks. These are places that would be a bit intimidating to go on your own.

My partner and I took the food tour with Jamie in the Sowcarpet, Chennai. We recommend taking an afternoon tour as the area really wakes up in the afternoon/evening.

Jamie was very knowledgeable about the food and about India in general. We spent a lot of the time asking questions and learning about India, inbetween mouthfuls of good food. Jamie built our experience around what we liked, making sure to get the amount of food and spice levels right.

Truly a relaxed, informative and delicious evening.

I should also note, that my partner and I booked the tour the night before which didn't give the team enough time to organise it. They got in contact the next day to explain and offered that we join one of the evening tours the next day instead. Thanks for being such a polite and thoughtful company.
