Visiting Jodhpur for the first time, A Must do tour.
We were met promptly by Prabaht Singh. We walked and talked at our pace. All our questions were answered. We saw so many beautiful parts of the city, many we would never have found. Prabaht, was very knowledgeable about the history and modern day living in Jodhpur, He was also born and raised here, could share about his life and living in an amazing city. Would definitely recommend this tour and guide.

Loved this walking tour of Udaipur
We just did the heritage walk in Udaipur and it was absolutely brilliant. We suddenly saw a completely different side to the architecture and what we thought looked initially old and run down was intricate and interesting with a 300 year old history. We went through the market and he explained so so much that it will take me quite a while to process. Our guide grew up in the area, we saw his family house and met his mum, and you can tell he is passionate about the history and preserving the area for the future. We are 60 year old from Australia and the walk was fairly easy and we went places we would not have gone ourselves. As we say in OZ if you are in Udaipur do yourself a favour and do this tour. I wish I had noted down our guides name but hopefully they will add this into the comments so you can specifically request him. Thank you for a great couple of hours.

Highlight of our holiday! Life is all about the people you meet and experiences you share.
We can’t recommend the cooking experience highly enough. It was wonderful to walk around the local vegetable market with Akshat, choosing the vegetables we wanted to try later. We then went back to his home, met his lovely wife and his parents. Before we knew it we felt like one of the family, cooking alongside them, following their directions. The food was delicious and we learned a lot. Thank you so much to you all for making us feel so very welcome. This was, for sure, a highlight of the holiday which will stay in our memories for ever.

Great evening visiting the food market, then cooking & chatting to Sonal & her family.
A delightful evening started with Sonal taking us round to her local market. She asked us whether or not we wanted to go vegetarian or non-vegetarian. We chose the former because our experience of India is how good people are at making interesting vegetarian dishes. She then allowed us to explore all the fruits & vegetables in the market, before purchasing. Many are similar to those in the UK, but there are others as well… and the carrots are red here… at this time of year. We returned to her house, met the rest of the family, her husband & in-laws, who are all very engaging, before getting on with the cooking. All of it starts with mustard oil & frying, on a gas hob. It’s made more efficient & faster by extensive use of pressure cookers… they have 7. Great chat along the way & then we all sat down for a delicious home cooked meal. After all that, my wife tried on a Sari. Great additional experience that made her feel fantastic Thanks for a lovely evening!

      Cooking with Sonal and family
We both enjoyed our experience cooking with Sonal and chatting and eating with her family. We first went to purchase fresh vegetables from her local market. We were then treated to Masala tea and homemade savoury snacks whilst chatting to her mother and father-in-law. This was followed by chopping and cooking under Sonal's supervision - Dahl, aubergine dish, mixed vegetable curry & cumin rice. Her traditional way of cooking using various pressure cookers proved a tasty way to eat. She is passionate about cooking with fresh vegetables every day and sharing her enjoyment. We had a very relaxed sociable evening.

A wonderful walking tour of the beautiful and fascinating city of Jaipur
We did the Arts and Antiquities walking tour of Jaipur. Wonderful experience with a lovely and very informative guide, Anshu, who had a real rapport with the local people. A real insight into the city of Jaipur, it was fascinating.

      Can’t Miss Family Dinner
This was an incredibly unique and immersive experience. We spent the evening talking, cooking, and eating with a traditional three generation Indian family. We felt immediately welcomed into their home and enjoyed one of our favorite meals of the trip! Each family member was lovely in their own way and so enjoyable to talk to and learn from. Can’t recommend this expertise enough.

Amazing night watching how to cook with a super family.
We were dropped off at a local family home to learn how to cook Rajesthan curry supper and make chai tea by a lovely three generational Indian family. It was such a special experience and one we will never forget. They were so kind and hospitable. We were first taken to market to chose our vegetables - we would highly recommend this as part of your trip.

      Knowledgeable and interesting
The knowledge our guide made the tour interesting to get to understand the history of the blue city, and of course why people have started to move out.

      Rocky was an EXCELLENT guide!
Rocky was an excellent guide during our walking tour of the Blue City. He gave us the in and outs of the area along with keeping us safe due to the high volume of traffic. He took us to a man making bangles which were beautifully made.

      Heritage walking tour of Uddiapur
Vikram took us on a Heritage Walk in Uddiapur. He is a very experienced and highly knowledgeable guide with a very friendly personality. Every question was answered and we came away with a full understanding of the history of this city, it's development and challenges and it's future. Thoroughly recommended.

A genuine authentic Indian home cooking experience
Excellent cooking evening experience with Sonal and Akshat, their children, and the grandparents. We were welcomed by the whole family and we were treated like honoured guests. We learnt to cook a chicken curry and pulao rice. We also ate a curry sauce, cauliflower curry, cabbage and potato curry and some chipatis. The home cooked food was delicious and the company was lovely. A really authentic experience.

Jodhpur was amazing thanks to Rocky!
My 80 year old mother and I had a phenomenal day and a half in Jodhpur with our fantastic guide, Rocky. Not only did he take us on the most knowledgeable tour of the Spice Market, Fort, royalty cremation site and Palace, he found a delicious place for lunch followed by a fascinating walk through the blue city. He also took us to an outstanding embroidery exhibition called Surface. So beautiful. Rocky has a great energy and kindness that made our full day in Jodhpur simply the best!

      Beautiful day in Jodhpur
Soda was our favorite guide through all Rajasthan. He is extremely knowledgable, genuinely friendly and patient. We visited the fort, had a nice lunch before a visit to the Bisnoi villages and then visited a nice textile shop and spice shop. We loved his guidance and the places he showed us, thank you so much Soda! Hope to see you soon.

Great tour of the bazaar with Advesh, along open and covered bustling alleyways with a few tasty safe snacks along the way. Informative friendly and fun facts ( he spoke excellent English) shared but not lectured, which was a perfect fit for us. We saw bangles, wedding shops, headdresses, pickles, kitchen pots and pans, traditional wooden tools and more. Some beautiful architecture, frescoes and Victorian lampposts on route.
Would highly recommend this authentic tour of real Jaipur, you will not achieve this local depth without a guide.

We wanted to experience a little of the real Jaipur, away from the main attractions of the palaces and forts and to get under the skin of the real, everyday life in the city. Our walk was richly rewarding and this was due, in no small part to the guide, Jiya. She was charming, passionate about her city and culture and oozed enthusiasm. A smile was rarely away from her face. She was very patient and mindful of our needs as two ‘aged’ travelers, ensuring our safety at every potential hazard. The two plus hours we spent traversing the narrow and bustling alleyways just flew by. At the time for us to part my wife and myself felt far more informed and enlightened than we had hoped for. Should future travelers have the fortune of being guided by Jiya you will be in for a wonderful and enriching experience.

An interesting tour exploring the narrow streets in the old city, many of which are dedicated to one type of service or product. The “wedding dress and accessories” street was the busiest and most dazzling. The street food was a mixed bag. The apparently renown pakora shop served pakoras no different to anywhere else as far as I could tell, whereas the kulfi from another renown stall was excellent, and the pickles were amazing - nothing like what you can buy in the west.
However, guides need to pay attention to what the clients are doing behind them as they lead the way. I was taking photos from time to time and my guide was oblivious to the fact that she was away ahead and virtually out of sight on several occasions. It’s also not a great start when the guide tells you that they have had a busy day and are really tired within the first 10 minutes. That said, my guide was certainly knowledgeable and engaging. Perhaps just not her best day at the office - we all have them!

This was the most fun of all the walking tours we have been on so far. The credit goes to Anumita, our lovely, bubbly guide, full of enthusiasm and ready to share fun stories of her city. Anumita made it a very personal experience by not just following the tour but introducing us to other areas of interest especially shopping. She spent her own time helping me purchase sarees, being very protective of my inability to discern a proper price or to haggle for a better price. She even called her mother at one point for advice when I was about to make a foolish financial mistake. Anumita was not just an excellent tour guide but a wonderful friend by the end of 4+ hours.

Raghav met us at the appointed time and led us on a fascinating tour of the backstreets, alleyways and thoroughfares of Jaipur introducing us to the history of the city, the principles of its construction and the unique townhouses with their central cooling courtyards, thick walls with their businesses on the ground floor and accommodation above to obviate the need to commute - such foresight! We witnessed some of the artisans going about their daily work, were introduced to some of the proprietors of various shops and we were encouraged to sample their wares including pickled foods, ice-creams, etc. We explored the streets dedicated to textiles, cooking ware, gems, the flower market, wedding dress shops for the bride and groom, etc. What a colourful and informative evening it proved to be as Raghav showed us the underbelly of city life. Definitely worth a couple of hours of your time in this beautiful city which might be a bit daunting for you to explore unaccompanied.

We started off in the centre. Our guide was a great communicator, very clear and understood our needs. We were keen to take photos of people and experience food. We were delighted to see cutlers, men mending pots, jewellery making, sugar cup making, sewing etc. The colours of the textiles was amazing. The people so friendly. Our guide took us to food stalls where tried pakora, kulfi, milk cake, chutnies, bombay mix. All delicious. Highly recommend this trip.

Great tour, would recommend. We were given information about the city itself and then taken around to food stalls (all hygienic) and then lots of Bazaars which were not touristy. It was a fabulous experience and we went to places and learnt about things we would have never found otherwise. Our tour guide was Pranshu and he was great, made us always feel safe and welcome.

The tour started slightly late (due to the tour company I believe) but we had great communication with Pranshu, so it did not matter and we still got the full tour length at 1.5 hours which was perfect.

What a fascinating tour. Our guide, Anu, was just brilliant - she steered us through the organised chaos of the bazaar streets and introduced us to foods, architecture, traditions and history - bringing everything to life with stories of the families, businesses and characters of the city - ‘the pickle man of India’ was a particular highlight! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to experience and understand the people and commerce of this wonderful city.

We went on the walking tour in Udaipur and Jaipur and had a fantastic time. Both Nishtha (Udaipur) and Anshu (Jaipur) were excellent guides- really engaging, knowledgeable and great storytellers. After experiencing some mediocre tours in Delhi, I was very nervous about going on another tour where I just got facts recited to me. We used Virasat tours in Udaipur and had an excellent time with Nishtha. She took us through the old city in Udaipur and we saw a completely different side to it. Our experience was so good that we wanted to go with them for a tour in Jaipur. In Jaipur, Anshu gave us a real feel of the culture, heritage and history of Jaipur. Everything I wanted from a tour, and would HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting Udaipur/Jaipur to have this experience! Although you can find cheaper tours, this experience is 100% worth it and much more meaningful. You’ll leave the tour actually understanding the city, history and culture, and have a chance to taste the local street foods are delicious and completely safe to eat as well :)

If you’re looking for an authentic way to experience the vibrant culture of Jaipur, this walking tour of the city's bustling markets is an absolute must. My expert guide, Anumita, took me through the Pink City’s most iconic bazaars, and it was an unforgettable journey into Rajasthan’s heart. Anu's ability to weave historical and cultural facts with personal anecdotes made the experience not just informative but deeply engaging. We sampled local delicacies and wove our way around the various market streets and havelis. Anu's passion for her city really stood out and I thoroughly enjoyed my short time with her.

This is a must do activity and if you're lucky enough to get Anu as your guide, even better!
