We went on the walking tour in Udaipur and Jaipur and had a fantastic time. Both Nishtha (Udaipur) and Anshu (Jaipur) were excellent guides- really engaging, knowledgeable and great storytellers. After experiencing some mediocre tours in Delhi, I was very nervous about going on another tour where I just got facts recited to me. We used Virasat tours in Udaipur and had an excellent time with Nishtha. She took us through the old city in Udaipur and we saw a completely different side to it. Our experience was so good that we wanted to go with them for a tour in Jaipur. In Jaipur, Anshu gave us a real feel of the culture, heritage and history of Jaipur. Everything I wanted from a tour, and would HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting Udaipur/Jaipur to have this experience! Although you can find cheaper tours, this experience is 100% worth it and much more meaningful. You’ll leave the tour actually understanding the city, history and culture, and have a chance to taste the local street foods are delicious and completely safe to eat as well :)

We went on the evening bazaar and food walking tour with Madhav and it was a really good tour. We walked around the old town and ate street food. we saw lots of interesting shops and buildings, and loved the street food. Madhav S was caring (making sure we were comfortable) he was easy to understand (spoke clearly and took time to explain) and showed sincere interest in making sure his guests were happy. He shared a great deal of knowledge with us and I highly recommend working with him if you can.
It is a really good tour.

What an excellent introduction this was to the old town of Jaipur. Our guide spoke perfect English and was a pleasure to converse with on a varied range of topics! It was the first day of Divali so Jaipur was heaving but we were expertly steered from interesting craft experiences to delicious street food and back again over the course of our 3 hour tour. Crossing the road would have been a total non starter without our expert guide who somehow managed to enable us to weave our way amongst the stream of flying traffic without incident! I can thoroughly recommend this tour!

Madhav not only shared his passion of food, he gave us a brief history of the city of Jaipur and some recommendations on the main activities to do there. Highly recommended.

We went on this evening walk and were delighted by our host, a local man who did this in addition to his day job. A man with real passion for his city and a real desire to share its history, culture and way of life. He took us around the markets, but there was no pressure to buy, it was not a retail experience. We ate wonderful street food. At the end of the evening we were invited to take tea at a colleagues home. Such a warm welcome and delicious tea and food. Highly recommended.

We had the most fabulous experience during this well planned tour of Jaipur artisans. The tour was planned and executed by Virasat Experiences was organised through our travel planner Naman Jain of Travel To Discover..
Our guide Madhav Dev Shekhawat was very knowledgeable about Jaipur overall and especially about the artisans, their history & culture etc.. He took us to some of the most amazing artisans - The Chipa block printing families at village Bagru; the third generation Meenakari artisans in old Jaipur, 14th generation lacquer artists etc etc.. What made this special was the fact Madhavji knew all the artisans personally and we got a ring side view of the great cultural heritage of our country..
All in all, Virasat Experiences made this one of the most memorable trip for us.. and we won’t hesitate in recommending them to fellow travellers..

Went on this tour late afternoon on 19th Feb, sorry I can't remember our guide's name but hopefully the date will identify him! Found it fascinating learning about how the "ordinary" people conduct their lives. A good contrast following all the visits to palaces and learning how royalty lived theirs! Were allowed access in to a very old home which is no longer occupied and also access into shops and working areas of one or two local people. Interesting to see how many goods are still handmade on the premises. Also got to sample to some street food which our guide selected from the many vendors. Delicious and not too spicy. He selected well! Crossing the road in Jaipur at dusk proved to a challenge but again our guide took charge and we all got across without incident! Would definitely recommend this tour.

We were expertly escorted around the busy streets and markets by the charming and knowledgable Nandini Birla. She was able to explain how the different areas of the city specialise in selling everything from kitchen pans to marriage outfits, and led us to the best stalls for Indian specialities such as fresh lakota yoghurt drinks and kulfi (ice cream). The pace was just right and we thought it two hours very well spent.

We had the most incredible experience with Anshu Godara during our heritage walking tour in Jaipur last week (Feb 2023). She is very knowledgeable about her city, its traditions, culture and history. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious! We learned so much with her. And she treated us to "safe" and delicious Indian street food. I would highly recommend this tour with her. Thank you Anshu - you are one of our all time favorite guides ever.

Our walking tour of Jaipur's old city and food stalls was a truly memorable experience. Our excellent guide Paridhi Jain was full of knowledge and enthusiasm and pointed out many details we would never have noticed on our own. We had no fear in sampling every variety of food from 10 tiny stalls, as Paridhi was obviously acquainted with all of the merchants and knew exactly the best places to go. So many amazing taste sensations! She led us down tiny lanes and provided fascinating stories of the city's history. We are two ladies "of a certain age" and we felt so safe and secure in her hands. It was such fun! Very, very highly recommended.
