Recommend excellent guide - Miss Bharti Singh. It was great to have a female guide for a change. She was really knowledgeable about Jaipur and good to be able to talk about Indian culture and gain a woman’s perspective. The UNESCO world heritage site of Jantar Mantar which contains a Royal Observatory is really fascinating and Miss Bharti knows a great deal about the subject. She is available through Trailfinders and also works as an independent tour guide. As expected she could recommend good stores for textiles, gem stones and lunch at the Royal Palace.

We are a retired couple on a self planned tour of Rajasthan. Our hotel contacted us and asked if we wanted a transfer from the airport or station. We were picked up from the station platform by Naveer Kumar, with whom we also spent the next 2 days touring In Jaipur, the first day in a vintage Hindustan Motors Ambassador. Naveer has excellent English and is very knowledgeable about the city. We learnt a lot from him, not just about Jaipur, but Indian life in general. We would recommend both the company and specifically Naveer without hesitation.

Janu private tours was one of the best for so many reasons it's hard to to pick out just the highlights as we were lucky enough to experience so many wonderful things. Upon arriving at the Marigold Inn in Jaipur my friends and I were greeted by one of the most amazing displays of traditional song and dance that India has to offer. In all of our years of travels this was by far the warmest reception we have received at any hotel or homestay. The most memorable and cherished part of our trip was our local guide, Ayub, he was warm, kind, and very knowledgeable. He was helpful and always available to snap a quick picture or stop traffic so we could strike a pose. I know that I will one day return to the Marigold, not only for all of its heartfelt hospitality but also the family atmosphere provided by all those who work and stay at this magical place.

Janu Private Tours provided an excellent foundation for our family's 15-day journey through Delhi, Agra, and Rajasthan. From the start, owner Janu impressed us with his exceptional friendliness and deep knowledge of the region. He was incredibly flexible in accommodating our needs and even treated us to a wonderful meal at his restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday – a truly kind gesture! The guides were equally outstanding, offering a perfect blend of historical knowledge, local insights, and friendly conversation. They were punctual and went the extra mile to accommodate our special needs. They truly elevated our sightseeing experience. (Highly recommend: Mehraj in Agra, Surya in Jaipur, and Surya in Jodhpur). Unfortunately, our driver, Vijay Singh, proved to be a major drawback. New to the company, he seemed more focused on maximizing his commission, often at our expense. He constantly pushed commission-driven shops and restaurants, resorting to outright lies about our preferred choices. He'd falsely label highly-rated, famous restaurants we'd selected as "unhygienic" or "off-route" and was keen on taking us to places that offered him a commission. He even deceived us by driving to a different shop than requested, only revealing his deception upon arrival, and pressuring us to give it a try for his benefit. To be clear, we understand that commission-based recommendations are common practice, and we don't fault the driver or guides for participating in this system. However, the aggressive and manipulative tactics employed by our driver were unacceptable, especially given our limited time to experience the best of what India has to offer, not just what benefits him financially. Throughout the trip, we had to be constantly vigilant against being misled by the very person who was supposed to be ensuring our comfort and enjoyment. UPDATE: Janu Private Tours listened to our concerns and they took swift and decisive action to address the situation. They have since blocked Vijay Singh from any future collaboration with the company and communicated this to the taxi association to prevent similar incidents. They have also implemented stricter guidelines for drivers and reinforced the importance of prioritizing customer experience over personal gain. They even offered a partial refund for the inconvenience, which we declined as our primary concern was ensuring a better experience for future travelers. Janu and Aqueel's prompt response to our feedback has reassured us that this will not be repeated. Considering the efforts of the entire team and all the positive aspects (planning, friendliness, hospitality, punctuality, knowledge, comfort, safety etc), I am upgrading this to a 5-star review! Based on our overall experience and the company's proactive efforts to rectify the situation, we wholeheartedly highly recommend Janu Private Tours. Their guides are exceptional, communication is seamless, and the overall service is well-organized. We are confident that they will continue to provide outstanding experiences for travelers exploring India.

Our family had an amazing trip visiting through agra, jaipur and delhi. Our driver zahir and tour guide mehraj made the trip memorable with being attentive and engaged throughout making us all laugh and eventually feel like family at the end of the trip. We had a great experience being hosted by Janu and more particularly our driver (Jaheer) and guide (Mehraj). We visited Agra, Chambal, Gwalior and Orchha. Our trip was flawlessly organized from start to finish, leaving no room for concern. Our driver, Jaheer, was exceptionally thoughtful and consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Whenever someone in our group started coughing, he would stop to get cough drops without hesitation. He advised us on areas to be cautious and only took us to reputable shops, greatly enhancing our experience as non-locals. Even after a full day of driving, Jaheer’s cheerful energy never wavered, making our journeys lively and enjoyable. In each city, we were accompanied by different guides who brought the region's history to life with engaging storytelling. They seamlessly handled ticket purchases, bypassed long lines, and ensured we were treated fairly when shopping. Thanks to their expertise and attentiveness, we felt well cared for throughout the trip. This was truly a delightful and unforgettable experience. Our family had an amazing visit to Agra, Jaipur and Delhi with Janu Tours. From planning to execution every detail was 5 stars! I truly enjoyed my Golden Triangle tour that was put together by Janu and his team. Our driver Zaheer picked up us at Delhi Airport and drove us to Agra to see the early morning tour of the Taj Mahal. We had our tour guide Mehraj (arranged by Janu) to explain in detail all the specifics to the Taj Mahal. Mehraj spent the whole day with us and explained to us the history of Taj Mahal; Agra; Yamna River; etc. Zaheer then drove us to Jaipur. Our tour guide in Jaipur was Surya. Surya was very knowledgeable about the history of Jaipur and was very informative. My highlight of my time in Jaipur was going to the elephant preserve. At the elephant preserve we got to feed and spend time with the elephants with different activities. Zaheer then drove us back to Delhi. Jogi was our tour guide for our Delhi tour. He was a wealth of knowledge and information regarding Delhi. Chandni Chowk was the highlight of our tour there. He spent the majority of the day with us to show the highlights of Delhi. The next day we had Lala be our helper to find for my wife the shopping stores for the things she was looking to buy. He even managed to find a gentleman do mehendi (henna) for my wife and my daughter. Five stars to Janu and his team for this tour. It was very memorable and everyone went the extra mile to make it MEMORABLE and ENJOYABLE.

We ( 3 Italian girls ) booked a private tour with them and everything was perfect! The communication while booking was smooth and fast. During the tour we always felt safe. When the tour finished we continued by ourselves, at one point we had an issue with some train tickets, I called them and they have been extremely helpful, even their job with us was already done. Really appreciated that. Definitely recommend!

I went in a 15days trip through Rajasthan with my family and it was amazing !! We went to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ranthambore. We saw so many beautiful landscapes, forts and cities, had the best food, met really nice people … We especially had the best driver we could have wished for! Thank you Pradeep for your excellent driving skills, your good explanations about your region and its local culture, your good energy and everything you shared with us ! It would have been really different without you. If you want to experience an unforgettable trip to Rajasthan, you can trust Janu with closed eyes (don’t forget to open them because it’s worst it!)

My wife and i hadnt pre-booked any tours before we arrived in Jaipur, but upon our arrival, we realised we could be missing out on valuable local knowledge. Janu personally advised us after he, and our guide Mr Singh, listened to what our personal preferences where, and there was no hard sell or pressure to follow any of there options, which makes a change in India. And doing the tours in a Tuk Tuk, as suggested, was a fun and far more entertaining way to travel around the city. The 2 local tours we did where fabulous, exactly what we wanted to see, with lots of smiles and laughter, definitely enhanced by our guide Mr Singh, and his suggestions of when and what order to visit specific sites was perfect. I can not praise this tour company highly enough, they where always professional and courteous but never forgot that our trip was to be an enjoyable and pleasurable experience. The guide in Jodphur that Janu organised, Suresh, was also fabulous, maintaining the high standards set by the Jaipur Team, who understand perfectly how a tour company should interact and involve there clients. When we return, in the near future, we shall be using Janu Tours, for all our excursions and tour requirements. FABULOUS EXPERIENCE.
